*Suspected Killers of Nollywood Actress, Mary Ngozi, Arrested in Delta.*

Ngozi was killed at Boji-Boji Owa in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state last year by members of a syndicate that specialises in robbing POS operators.

Suspects involved in the murder of POS operator and Nollywood actress Mary Ngozi have been arrested.

The police in Delta state said it arrested two of the suspects fingered in the murder.

Ngozi was killed at Boji-Boji Owa in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state last year by members of a syndicate that specialises in robbing POS operators.

In a statement released by DSP Edafe Bright, spokesperson of the state police command, says on February 14, a distress call was received by the DPO Owa-Oyibu that some suspects who robbed and shot some POS operators at Efeizomor Street, near Pekky Hotel in Owa-Oyibo have been arrested and that they are being lynched by an angry mob.

Edafe said a police patrol team was quickly mobilized to the scene where the two suspects namely, Onyeka Ifeanyi 'm' aged 19 yrs of No.10 Ije Street Agbor and Bright Micheal Kester 'm' age 20yrs of No.5 Imudia Street Agbor were rescued from the mob and taken to the Station.

''Upon interrogation they confessed to have robbed several POS operators and also confessed that their gang members were responsible for the robbery and murder of one Mary Ngozi, a POS operator and Nollywood actress at deeper life road on December 7, 2021.''Edafe said

The police spokesperson added that one of the Suspects Bright Michael Kester was taken to General Hospital for treatment due to injuries sustained from the Mob attack but gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.

Police operatives in Ogun State have arrested one Kehinde Oladimeji, 43, and his 35-year-old wife, Adejumoke Raji, for allegedly being in possession of fresh different h#man parts.

The suspects were arrested in Abeokuta area of the state, following a report lodged at Kemta Divisional Headquarters by one chief Moshood Ogunwolu, the Baale of Leme Community.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Saturday, February 12, said that the Baale, who reported that one Pastor Adisa Olarewaju who is a co-tenant with the suspects informed him of offensive odours coming out from the room of the suspects.

According to him, “Upon the complaint, the DPO Kemta Division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, quickly led his detectives to the scene where search was conducted. On searching the room, a plastic bowl containing fresh different parts of h#man being was discovered in the room, and the couple were promptly arrested.

On interrogation, the suspects confessed they were herbalists and that the h#man parts comprises of hands, bre#sts and other parts were given to them by one Michael who they claimed resided in Adatan area of Abeokuta.

All efforts to locate the said Michael proved abortive as the suspects could not locate his house.

It will be recalled that a disme#mbered body of an unknown person was found in a swamp area at Leme area of Abeokuta about a week ago, it is not yet clear whether the parts is that of the found body or not.”

A 100-level student of the Department of Linguistics and African Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun state, has died after she accidentally fell into a septic tank in her hostel on Wednesday February 9.

Heritage was said to be packing her clothes that she had washed earlier when she suddenly slipped into the septic tank in the hostel where students are allegedly asked to pay as much as N200, 000 for a bed space.

Confirming her death, the University's Students’ Union president, Ogunperi Taofeek Olalekan, in a statement released, said

''Heritage Ajibola, the Linguistics and African Languages student who accidentally fell into the soakaway this afternoon at Bver Hostel, Maintenance Hostels, is confirmed de.ad!

This incident is highly unfortunate. The Union mourns her. May her soul rest in peace. May God give her family, friends and course mates the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

It must be noted that Heritage's de.ath was avoidable if the soakaway system was properly constructed and covered. It is saddening that this has happened despite the huge amounts of money paid by students for rent. The Management of the Hostel must answer for the death of Heritage. The Union is immediately demanding justice for Heritage, with a view to forestalling a possible reoccurrence of this.

The United States on Monday offered a $10-million reward for information leading to the “identification or location” of the leader of the Afghanistan regional chapter of the Islamic State group.

The reward offered by the US State Department was also for any information that would aid in arresting or convicting those responsible for the “terrorist attack at the Kabul airport” on August 26, which was claimed by the Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K).

The attack, which killed more than 100 people, including 13 American soldiers, was launched as the United States orchestrated its chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and the evacuation of Afghans deemed under threat by the Taliban’s takeover.

According to Washington, Sanaullah Ghafari — also known as Shahab al-Muhajir — was appointed head of IS-K in June 2020 by the Islamic State group.

IS-K is the Afghan offshoot of IS, which originated in Iraq and Syria.

“Ghafari is responsible for approving all ISIS-K operations throughout Afghanistan and arranging funding to conduct operations,” the State Department said in a statement.

Little is known about Ghafari, although his nom de guerre suggests he arrived in the region from the Arab world.

He is rumored to have been an Al-Qaeda commander or a former member of the Haqqani network, one of the most powerful and feared factions in the Taliban.

IS-K has been responsible for some of the deadliest attacks in the region in recent years, massacring civilians in Afghanistan and Pakistan, at mosques, shrines, public squares and hospitals.

Terrible incident happened on the 30th of January at AA Worlu Street Rumuigbo

Eye witness has said that Mariam Adamu, with two other of her colleagues who lives in the same compound, ganged Up and fought chika okeke

On the 29th of January before, she was k#lled by Mariam Adamu on the 30th of January on her way back to the house along the street close to their house, where Mariam Adamu poured pepper on Chika okeke and stab her several places with knife. Mariam Adamu , after k#lling her, she ran away immediately from the scene and hid the knife inside a pile of sand close to a building site on the street and sent a car to pick up her kids immediately before the people of the street will be vigilant it was too late. Police were invited, and they arrested the other women, Miracle Itodo and Mummy Amanda, all conspired to pour her pepper and be#t her.

With all police efforts, the k#ller Mariam Aduma was found and arrested at Awuchi Edo state her husband village, where she went hiding with her kids and was transferred to kala police station at Wimpy Mile 4 port Harcourt

A court has charged a 41-year-old Texas woman with manslaughter after she allegedly sat on her roommate until she suffocated to death.

Gloria Ann Jordan was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 1, in connection with the death of her roommate, Gloria Farmer, in Wichita Falls on Nov. 21, cops Said

Police responded to a call of a medical emergency at Las Cruces Lane, which Jordan and Farmer shared with another woman.

Police began investigating Farmer’s death as criminal after a family friend approached them days later with concerns about her death, according to an affidavit obtained by KAUZ.

The third roommate later told detectives that Jordan could have been responsible for Farmer’s death and that she had been too afraid to say anything when it first happened.

The roommate told police that Jordan put her hand on Farmer’s forehead while praying, and pushed her backward in an office chair until Farmer and the chair fell over, according to the affidavit.

Jordan then straddled Farmer’s chest, according to court documents.

Farmer told Jordan to get off because she could not breathe.

An autopsy determined Farmer’s death was the result of mechanical asphyxiation and was ruled a homicide.

Jordan was questioned by police while she was admitted to the hospital on Nov. 24 where she had been admitted for an unrelated medical condition three days after the death.

She told police that she had pushed Farmer over and sat on top of her in a "prayer position" with her hand on her forehead, but declined to comment further, according to New York Post.

She is also facing criminal charges for an incident that occurred on Nov. 25, in which she allegedly slammed a woman’s head into a wall several times while shouting "I rebuke you in the name of the Lord," KAUZ reported.

Jordan was lodged in the Wichita County Jail, and her bond has been set at $150,000, according to KAUZ.

Daud Olatunji writes about the dust raised by the killing of two villagers in Ogun village by police who subsequently labelled them terrorists

‘I escaped by a whisker when the police ambushed my father and his nephew. They rained bullets on them, but the bullets did not penetrate their bodies. One of the policemen later moved closer to them and forcibly took the Dane gun belonging to Bara (Kolawole) and shot him to death.

“The same policeman approached my father, took his machete and hacked him to death. I saw how he killed them from where I hid, “said 25-year-old survivor, Alani Ojugbele.

The duo were allegedly killed by the police a few hours after an Inspector, Omolayo Olajide, was murdered by yet-to-be-identified persons during a clash between some herders and Yoruba farmers in Saala Orile, Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The two victims were identified as Kolawole Bara and Sole Ojugbele. While Ojugbele was said to be a nephew to the village head, Bara, popularly called Alape, was identified as a younger brother to the village head of Adekan village near Saala-Orile, Chief Adisa Bara.

Speaking with our correspondent, Ojugbele said the duo and himself were on a motorcycle moving around the villages a few minutes after the violent incident.

He said they were stopped abruptly by a team of policemen around Saala-Orile who shot at them.
He said “I am a farmer. I was with my father when he was killed. Some people came to our house to tell him that the baale wanted to see him and he left. When he returned home, he said the baale asked him to check the village and give him a report of what was happening there. That was how I went with my father to visit the area. When we were returning, my father said that we should pass Saala Orile.

“We decided to assess the areas from Saala Orile to Ijaka-Oko. We saw some policemen at Vulcaniser bus stop at Saala Orile junction and we passed them by towards Ijaka-Oke. We later turned towards Ijaka-Oko after looking around the area. On our way back, the police were still at the junction with their van

“The bike we sat on was driven by Alape (Bara). We went through the area and we turned back towards Saala-Orile to pass through the area to our house. As we passed Ijaka-Oke to Saala-Orile Junction, we met some policemen and one of them alighted from the van and started shooting at us.

“As he shot at my father and Alape, the bullets didn’t penetrate their bodies. But after he exhausted the bullets in his gun, he moved towards them and snatched the gun held by Alape and shot at him at a close range. The gun penetrated his body and killed him. Another cop at the same time dragged my dad from the back and used a machete to kill him.

“I fled when the cop started shooting and hid somewhere around. If not for the fact that I was also fortified from bullets, I might have been killed too. It was the police that hacked my father to death and shot Alape dead. After killing them, they put their bodies in their van and drove away. It happened on the Saala-Orile Road near a mechanic shop in the area. My father was not a bandit. He was a farmer. Alape was also not a bandit, he was a hunter.”

Announcing the inspector’s death, the state police command said he was shot dead by terrorists during a gun duel in the area. The police labelled Bara and Ojugbele killed the crisis as terrorists.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement said the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 24, 2022 in Saala-Orile forest in the Yewa-North LGA.

Oyeyemi noted that the operatives of the state police command gunned down two terrorists during a gun battle in the forest following the alleged attack on some herders.

Oyeyemi claimed that the duo were killed following a distress call received by policemen attached to Ayetoro division that a group of terrorists were attacking some Fulani herdsmen at Isaala Orile forest.

According to him, the DPO Ayetoro, CSP Bernard Ediogboyan, quickly led his men and operatives of the joint security intervention squad to the scene.

He said, “On sighting the policemen, the bandits opened fire on them and the policemen replied fire for fire.

“At the end of the encounter which lasted for about 20 minutes, two amongst the bandits were shot dead while others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot injuries. Regrettably, an inspector of police, by name Omolayo Olajide, lost his life during the gun duel.”

But the villagers disagreed with the police, saying that those killed were not terrorists but hunters and farmers.

The villagers identified them as village high chiefs who worked with the village head, Chief Adisa Bara of Adekan village.

In its reaction to the development, Yewa North Patriotic Forum faulted the police on the killings.

The forum in a statement by its spokesperson, Fatolu Ganiyu, condemned the killing of the villagers by the police during a clash between farmers and herders in the area.

The statement read in part, “The forum finds it mischievous, despicable, and inciteful a press release issued on the recent Fulani herders-farmers clash in Saala Orile by the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command, signed by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi (PPRO Ogun State Police Command).

“It is saddening and unacceptable that the police could descend that low to support those suspected Fulani herdsmen which they have known from time immemorial to have been terrorising the farmers, kidnapping and killing innocent citizens.

“It is a deliberate fabrication by the police to tag innocent villagers living within Ayetoro, Saala Orile, Erinpa and neighbourhood as bandits. This obviously was done in a rush to cover up the unprofessional way its men handled the conflict at Saala Orile.”

The forum stated that despite the state anti-open grazing law, the same thing happened when herdsmen with their animals invaded farms of innocent farmers at Saala Orile, Erinpa, Agada and Ogodo, destroying the farms.

It added, “The farmers then called on the hunters to help chase away the animals from their farms. It was at this point that the well armed herders brought out weapons and attacked both the hunters and farmers.’’

The forum alleged that the herders called the police who promptly responded whereas they never answered previous calls by the farmers to come for their protection.

Saturday PUNCH gathered that the killings were triggered by the inspector’s death. It was gathered that the crisis erupted after some herders living in neighbouring villages grazed their cattle on farms located in some villages such as Erinpa, Agada, Ogodo, Ijaka-Oke, Adekan and Saala-Orile .

Irked by the loss, some farmers reportedly sought help from Agbekoya and hunters in the area who confronted the herdsmen over their action. The clash between the Agbekoya and the herders didn’t record any casualty.

The herders reportedly alerted the police who allegedly stormed the place to protect the herdsmen said to be under attack. Some villagers who spoke to Saturday PUNCH on condition of anonymity said the police opened fire on the hunters but the bullets didn’t penetrate.

It alleged that the hunters in self-defence killed one of the policemen while other cops fled for reinforcement.
