I got my job without knowing anyone, likewise my sister in tier 1 banks. I sent a job advert of an oil and gas coy to my cousin and she got the offer last month.
I belong to the school of thought of a positive mindset and preparing oneself for the future you want.
I also changed job role in my organization last year by participating in the application process which was open to both internal and external candidates and got selected alongside others without knowing anyone for a lucrative role.
If you have the perception that you must know someone before landing a role, you'll never get it especially in the organized private sector.
