We are all used to seeing the price of cars go down from year to year. But something remarkable happened this year. Instead of going down, the price of cars in the US actually went up substantially across the board. Unfortunately this increase has not been reflected in the Nigerian market and I don't think it ever will.

Most shippers in the US have temporarily stopped shipping cars to Nigeria because it no longer makes business sense. For now, buyers should either be ready to adjust to the new reality or make do with Nigeria-used cars. The latter seems to be happening as NL appear to have more registered than tokunboh cars available for sale.

Sadly, the Nigerian car market has a spirit of it's own and does not respond to the simple law of demand and supply. So despite the fact that tokunbohs are now scarce, Nigerian buyers still want them at untenable prices.

P.S: I had to start this thread after seeing a buyer make an urgent request for two tokunboh 2004 Honda Accords. The two offers he got were all Nigeria-used. This wouldn't have happened a year or two ago. If you have any for sale, you can view the buyer's request at the link below:
