Kunlebayo12: I’m on the verge of being rusticated in school
October when I was writing my final exams, something happened just 1 day to end the exam. So me and my friend wrote on our question paper and we exchanged it between ourselves. When I was writing this initiator started searching everyone he got to me and he search me there was nothing on me, he search my booklet yet nothing, he ask me where is my question paper and I showed him just the front because it was the back we wrote on, when he saw it he flipped the back and saw the question paper and ask me who wrote this and what is all this I told him I wrote it with all the back and font he told me to sit down
Minute later he went outside and bought exam malpractice form and gave me and others those who were using chukuli, phones, book and other material to write.
I beg him that I wrote it, all pleading fell to deaf ear, when I saw he was yielding and time was going and no time to beg I just had to fill the paper. I filled it so I can beg him later so I would be able to write something
To get the long story short, 3 days later I was invigated to the student disciplinary board to explain what happened Which I did, I pleaded and beg that it won’t happen again, thry told me I will be punished but not expelled In my school examination malpractice is straight expulsion no matter who you may know.
2 days later I got I call from my classrep that I was given 2years rustication. I called the Hod and course adviser and they said it true, I check the name of student expelled my name wasn’t there, I confirm from the student discplinary board and truly I was recommended 2 years suspension but the result will be out on February 17th this year, and when it out my student portal will be shutdown immediately
Even since then I have been sad, depressed and lonely and I can’t even tell my parents because they will be disappointed in me, I have been carrying a burden since early November and now it January, I have been thinking none stop, I have been contemplating suicide to be honest, I don’t pray this kind of situation for my worst enemies and those who haven’t been will never truly knows the pain it cause till you’re in the situation
Please i need help and words of encouragement Even if you blame me, the dead has already been done, I Bleep up and I accepted my mistake
Please guys I’m dying In silence, I can’t even wait till February 17th, it killing me knowing few days to graduation I was rusticated, what will I tell my parent, or people that have help me one way or another in school. I’m devastated to be honest
I might be ending it any moment from now because this pain is unbearable for me, I just want it to end so I can live a normal life again but I can’t keep living like this. Ignore my typo error
Please someone should help me push it to front page Use this 2 years suspension, go grab an online skill, I will advise you learn cloud computing and devops. It's a demand skill and by the time you're back, your remaining semester will be flawless 😉. If you want to learn shoot me a message I will guide you. I'm willing to help you. |
Nairaland General › Re: Have You Ever Fought For Your Life? by sonofanarchy(m): 1:35pm On Jan 08 |
Samantha125: Mine happened when I was ten years old, I fell sick and got admitted in hospital... My condition at the time was stable, but kept deteriorating over time, I had to be transferred to another hospital outside of my province... I stayed there for about two weeks before my first surgery and my parents would sometimes have to go back home as they had other priorities back home, my brother was the one who'd normally come and see me during afternoon visiting hours since he was schooling in the same province I was transferred to and his school wasn't that far from the hospital.
A day for my surgery came and things seemed promising after the procedure, even though I was still on oxygen, things seemed to be headed to the right direction... My parents were by my side for a couple of days and the doctor finally decided to get me off the oxygen since my condition had seemed to have improved... My parents then had to go back home in Limpopo and I remember within a couple of hours after their departure, I started experiencing this heavy feeling within my chest like it was compressed altogether, I complained to one nurse about how I was finding it difficult to breathe properly, she alerted the doctor and they put me back on oxygen while they monitored me through the night.
My doctor came back early in the morning to check up on me before he left and it wasn't until I had my breakfast that my condition turned for the worst, I started hyperventilating to a point that even the oxygen wasn't helping anymore, when I attempted to speak, my voice couldn't come out, I felt myself struggling to exhale by the minute... I was immediately attended to by this other doctor that I didn't recognise, he quickly prepared me and rushed me to the ICU together with the ward's senior nurse, I actually thought I was dying by that moment... After getting to the ICU, they tried getting hold of my parents, but could not reach them.
I was then placed on this other oxygen which had this weird smoky smell, I managed to whisper to the senior nurse that I was thirsty and needed some water to drink, she promised to get me the water, but I quickly passed out, when I woke up, I found myself on a life support system and I was being attended to by this other female doctor... My doctor then came and explained everything to me, apparently I had developed an infection after my first surgery, he also told me how they've been trying to get hold of my parents without any success since as a minor, they needed their consent to conduct another surgery on me as my condition was now critical and required them to conduct an urgent surgery ASAP... So in my parents absence, they took it upon themselves to go ahead with the procedure... Because it was either they wait and I don't make it or they conduct the surgery without my parents' permission and save my life.
I honestly didn't care, I was just relieved that I could breathe again even though I relied on a ventilator... I think my brother had an exam that day, so he also couldn't come and see me... Few hours later, two new doctors that I've never seen before came to fetch me from the ICU to the operating theater, apparently they were assigned to perform the surgery on me by another doctor, I was attended to by a variety of doctors that day with their different specialities.
The following day my brother went to the children's ward like he'd normally do during afternoon visiting hours, but upon getting there, I was nowhere to be found, he was then directed to the ICU and when he got there, I was asleep and the sight of me being surrounded by all those different hospital equipments terrified him... From what he told me, he only stayed for a few minutes and left... He got hold of our parents and instructed them to come to the hospital ASAP for I was dying and from that day on, he stopped coming to visit me... My family arrived in the middle of the night and at first they weren't allowed in since it was way past visiting hours, but they explained to the nurses and doctor how they're from another province and drove to the hospital as soon as they heard the news of my condition.
When they came in, I was awake, but still on a life support system and my wrists were restrained to the bed because the doctors feared that I might start overreacting as a child and harm myself in the process... My cousin only looked at me once and left, he waited outside... I could see in my parents and aunt's eyes that they were also terrified by my condition but trying to be strong... From that moment on, I had to be strong for myself and fight because I could see the hopelessness in everyone's eyes.
I stayed in the ICU for a couple of weeks until my condition became stable and I was moved back to the children's ward... I was taken off the ventilator machine and placed back on the medical oxygen, but I still couldn't speak or eat solid food, I'd use a note pad and a pencil to communicate with everyone... My brother then started visiting me again upon hearing that I was out of the ICU.
My mother would later open up to me about how at one point, she had started preparing herself for the worst, but here am I today healthy and happy...😃😃😃... I'll forever be grateful of those doctors who teamed up together to save my life...☺️☺️☺️
That's my survival story. I think I found a wife 😀 Thank God you survived. |

Ndipe: Scammers everywhere. But seriously, why would anyone consider migrating to Burkina Faso? The place doesn't strike me as a rich country. In West Africa, the only countries that may look alluring to migrate are Ivory Coast and Ghana. remove ivory Coast. Even Ghana, what do you want to do there? It's either business or fraud. I'd prefer business in benin Republic than Ghana because it's affordable and their economy is stable. |

MightySparrow: Most Nigerians are illiterates. Once they say somebody is a professor, they believe he/she knows everything about everything.
To your question,no. In engineering profession we have engineers, technologists, and technicians, each have their different trainings and assignments.
When I was going to university to read Mechanical Engineering ngineering, my uncle that counsel me , an historian gave me three options: Medicine Pharmacy, or Mechanical Engineering. I naturally would have read Electrical Engineering. His idea was to finish and come and establish a maintenance garage. When I got to school, our syllabus was different from the idea I bought to the school. The same notion people still have today.
Even ignorant technicians would still deride an engineer.
Anyway, the practice of engineering is not so encouraged in Nigeria. I know people in my class that are now chattered accountant's, bankers, teachers, even bolt drivers! why do people who study medicine and surgery ends up praticalizing it? Stop giving excuses, as a mechanical engineer, you should be able to particalize it. |
