It has been a great wonder to me while Sir Abubakar spoke with distinct British accent. Someone should please come to my rescue before I am doomed to something irreversibly tragic: where the hell did Sir Abubakar get his British accent from? Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, who spent a lengthy period in the US in pursuit of a highly advanced form of education and was obviously far more educated than the late Prime Minister, spoke with no single trace of American accent. Sir Abubakar's English, to say the least, was superb.

cjrane: Truly, if so much hate had not been spewed in Nigeria, Igala,Tiv, Igbira,Berom and other middle belt tribes are very compatible with the southerners.

I have had opportunity to be in Ajaokuta,Jos,Idah, Gboko, Lafia and Jos. I had many Idoma & Igala family friends while i lived at Enugu.I understand many are still there, many years after their parents left the Police and army. I cannot point to one single difference between my family and theirs or even physical differences. Their chics skin shade is even more golden brown than Akwa Ibom girls, talkless Igbo girls! The natives of the middle belt are indeed compatible with southern Nigeria and are completely different from the core northerners you'll see in Kano,Katsina or Yobe. I don't know why anyone will classify them as northerners!

It seems there is a lot you don't know about the middle belt region of Nigeria. If you talk about the Tiv and the Idoma people of Benue State being the same as the southerners in outlook, I would agree with you. But talking of the people of other minority tribes in the same region, you are are wrong there. They are the same as the Ahusas and the Foolanis. The Igbiras and the Igalas belong to the Arabic religion. I have been to all the states in middle belt including to Kwara where I graduated at the University of Ilorin. They are all arabic in religion apart from the people of Benue, a state 100% in christianity and similar to the South-East in outlook.
