I applied for EA in Lagos, it got denied. I filled another de-160 and applied for another EA in Abuja yesterday and I got an email now that it has been denied again. Please what’s all these? Why is this happening? What exactly am I supposed to do differently? Why is the embassy doing this to us? After all the struggle to get admission, funding, etc, I can’t even schedule an appointment for a visa interview. This isn’t fair at all.

I think it boils down to the reasons you gave for the EA. You need to give them good excuses

I applied yesterday evening and the EA got approved this afternoon.
Documents submitted: SEVIS receipt , MRV receipt, I-20, DS-160 confirmation page, Int'l Passport and late arrival letter.

Oh! I submitted mine at midnight so they would soon respond. I didn’t attach passport. I SEVIS receipt , MRV receipt, I-20, DS-160 confirmation page, and school admission letter

Have you been denied before?

Denied EA in Lagos yesterday then I filled a new DS 160 and applied to Abuja. The regular date I got was June 30 2022. I thereafter applied for EA around 1 mid night but I haven’t heard from them and I am not seeing the option to reschedule or EA

Just like many others have stated earlier, my emergency appointment (EA) request with the consulate in Lagos was denied yesterday, although I submitted another EA for Abuja and have just been able to book a January date. All the best everyone.

You mean Abuja has granted your EA.
When did you apply and what documents and reason did you submit?

I requested for Abuja and submitted yesterday after cancelling the Lagos that was denied. However, I logged on to the portal just now and I can't even see the emergency request feature or anything close nor is the "Reschedule" feature available. The only thing I see is the available Abuja July, 2022 appointment that I accepted before the emergency request submission. Is this typical?

Yes. Same thing here. I guess we don’t have access to that anymore. We have to pray they grant our appointment otherwise we may have to pay new application fee to gain another access

Finally I just received a response from the consulate for Emergency appointment but it was denied.

Request a late resumption approval letter from your school. They would give you once you have a travel excuse

I guess the cancellation of the dates was a rumour then. My EA appointment was for 13th of January and I applied since 16th of December hoping to get at least December.

A lot of us have applied since over 2 weeks ago and haven’t gotten any response from them

Thank you to everyone on this platform, i have read literally all the pages on this thread and i have learnt a great deal. I am a quite participant but then i follow up on the page daily till this moment.
I wish all applicants all the best in this journey, i can assure you all of something, once you are prayerful and confident you will get your visa approved. Either it is in Lagos or Abuja, you will surely get it approved.

By and large, I pray it isn’t the case but I am afraid they might not be granting any request anytime soon till further notice. First they gave a window of 6 different days in Lagos and Abuja combined dedicated solely for student visa which may mean, you should have applied before time and got interviewed one of the dates otherwise you would have to wait. Second, They have announced on their website that they would be extending expiration of appointment fee till September 2023 for those that didn’t get interviewed ahead of January. Third, they are no longer responding to request they would have normally responded to in just hours. Fourth, due to covid with now this omicron variant, they are not presently operational fully especially in Lago.

Those 4 reasons are worries enough that they may have decided on a limit.

I just pray this is not the case but still, It’s difficult to believe they would eventually give positive responses to all the backlog of requests they have received in less than a month to most resumption dates

Due to the continued silence from the continued silence from the Lagos Consulate, is it possible to apply for the student Surge that is still ongoing in Abuja till January 12. I learnt one can just email the necessary documents without having to fix an appointment on the portal.

Please somebody help, is it worth giving a try with any negative repercussions to the application since the originally chosen location is Lagos

I had the same experience, I called the customer care, a guy picked up, requested for my passport details and about 3 questions to confirm the password details. He then created the account for me and sent the login details to my mail

Initially got August 2022 - booked and accepted the date. Then, I requested for an emergency appointment and got that date.

Please share with me, what date did you apply for emergency appointment, what documents did you submit as proof and what words did you write as reasons for emergency?

I have applied since Sunday and haven’t gotten any response from them. Could it be that the requests they receive are just too much or could it be that I was not convincing enough with my request. I submitted my form 1-20 and Sevis payment confirmation documents. My reason was that I want to begin a course of study and the resumption date is Jan. 18, 2022.

Time is of excess here and I’m beginning to get worried that they haven’t responded

It looks like the embassy has a lot of emergency appointment request to deal with at the moment. I have also requested for Emergency interview since the early hours of Sunday but I haven’t gotten any response from them.
I know I am not it this alone but I have to resume school mid January 2022
