My observation is that on every I'd el kabir day rain always falls.This observation is based on 10- 8 years of close monitoring. The big question is, is it just a natural phenomenon or does it have spiritual complications significant to the slaughtering of animals. A member of the All Progressive Congress Party, APC and Vice Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Samuel Kayode, popularly known as Ekpo Kinkin, has been shot dead at Agboju area of Lagos.

The deceased had attended the flag off of the party’s local government campaign at Oriade Local Development Area, Thursday evening.

Present at the meeting were top officials of the party among whom was Chairman of the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Mr Valentine Buraimo.


Eye witnesses said while the meeting was on, a gunshot was heard from the crowd outside.

When those inside the hall rushed out to find out reason for the gunshot, Kayode was found in the pool of his blood.

The bullet from the unidentified gunman, as gathered, hit him in the leg.
The tragedy threw the entire premises into disarray as everyone took to their heels.
Kayode was said to have been rushed to the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Navy Town, Ojo, where he was confirmed dead.

A member of the party who spoke on the condition of anonymity, expressed surprise that a bullet in the leg could claim someone’s life.

Explaining what happened, he said, “Ekpo Kinkin was a very popular person in this area. He was shot, right in Oriade LCDA secretariat, close to Agboju police station.


“During the stampede caused by the gunshot, a man suspected to have pulled the trigger, was said to have been seen walking casually out of the premises.

“We have lodged a complaint to the Police. We hope they will fish out Ekpo’s killer,” sources stated

There is a death trap on Lagos badagary express way between moshalashi bustop and first gate in Amuwo odofin local government. The porthole on the federal road is so big that it causes accidents on a daily basis to unsuspecting motorcyclist and drivers that many as been sent to their early graves. Recently a trailer carrying a 40ft loaded container almost killed pedestrians when it bumped into the said pothole. The accident caused a heavy gridlock that lasted 72hrs before rescue operations arrived. I will call on the Lagos State government or the federal government to please repair these part of the road before it kills many more.

I could remember during the covid19 pandemic we were told to come to the local government secretariat to write down our names so palliatives could be distributed to us. I remember vividly the mammoth crowd that went that day, but unfortunately our hopes were dashed after several months of waiting and nothing came up. Then a week before the ENDSARS protest began, we the men of the NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH with about 30 convoys of suv trucks loaded with covid19 palliatives moving out from the warehouse. We donot know were they took the palliatives to amd one useless politician came out and said he wants to distribute the palliatives on his birthday. Does the palliatives belong to your family?
