I happened to stumble upon this thread of yours and with the little pieces of information I could gather from here, I can confidently affirm that your grieviance is not in any way near some fallacious attention seeking.
I believe what you alleged is very possible and with my scanty knowledge in criminal investigation and social engineering, all I can tell you is that your travail had nothing to do with those following you or even hacking your account. This might be a faceless forum quite alright, but in this era of advanced tech, uncovering the true identity and personal details behind any moniker here is no more rock science.

All I'm trying to say is you couldn't possibly have prevented it and it could happen to just anybody here. Then they would understand the pain you passed through.
Best is to put it aside and forge ahead and try to be careful with people henceforth. This Is Life; Sh#t Happens.
