Can a doctor truly run a hospital all by him/herself? Are doctors trained to run lab tests? Are they trained to care for patients the way nurses do? Who will assist doctors in the theatre or can a doctor look for instruments while performing surgery? Who will compound the drugs doctors need to treat patients? Can doctors rehabilitate patients like the physiotherapists?
Is it called the healthcare sector because it is all about teamwork.


In more advanced countries, hospitals are not headed by doctors but Hospital Administrators... I think if the FG starts this, Doctors will realize that they are not the boss of everybody.
Other Paramedic professions should be allowed to improve their various areas of specialization without the interference of doctors. For example, PharmD should be fully implemented in all Pharmacy schools but they should call the graduates something else like..."DPharm" instead of "Doctors" so that the Medical doctors will not feel insecure.

PharmD in other countries is like a post graduate degree but the Nigerian case is different. PharmD in Nigeria is first degree .

Pls do your research before writing false statements! PharmD is a first degree in Canada and the US. In the UK, MPharm is a first degree. It is not about the title "Doctor", the Pharmacy practice has evolved over the years and Nigeria is one of the countries lagging behind. Pharm D is much more clinical oriented than Pharm. Pharmacists are supposed to follow-up pharmaceutical care up to patient-care...not just dispensing drugs.
