Politics › Re: IPOB Disowns Sit-at-home Order, Urges Calm In Southeast by SpatialKing(m): 12:11pm On Oct 22, 2024 |
UltraSolid: Government should commit a large number of armed forces personnel to the SE and North, both full of self-destructive people who have brought problems on themselves myopically, when other regions of Nigeria exist who still need policing and security? We are a nation not at war but some off you expect our armed forces strength to be deployed against insurgency in two regions so other regions doing the right thing should suffer?
As that poster said to you, only ordinary Igbos can end the lunacy because they know who IPOB and UGM are. They live with them to be harboring, praising and supporting them. No President will therefore commit huge number of Nigerian soldiers to go and die over the insincerity of Igbos who, even as seen on this thread, are still looking for others to blame rather than accept their mistakes and commit to rectifying them if they indeed want peace. 1. National Unity and Equal Responsibility: The primary duty of any government is to ensure the security and well-being of all its citizens. The idea that certain regions should be deprived of security because of the challenges they face undermines the principle of equal responsibility and protection under the law. Every Nigerian citizen, regardless of location or region, has the right to security and protection from violence, which is a fundamental obligation of the government. 2. Complexity of Insurgency and Conflict: Insurgencies and security challenges, such as those in the Southeast and the North, are often more complex than a simple narrative of self-destruction. Many of the issues in these regions, including historical marginalization, economic inequality, and political disenfranchisement, are rooted in long-standing systemic issues that require a nuanced approach. A government's role is to address these complexities, not dismiss them as self-inflicted. 3. Collective Responsibility for Peace: While community involvement is essential for achieving peace, it is unfair to place the burden solely on civilians who might lack the means or capacity to confront well-armed groups. Expecting ordinary citizens to resolve insurgencies without adequate support from the state overlooks the role of law enforcement and military forces. The federal government should be at the forefront of these efforts, as they possess the resources and expertise required to address such challenges. 4. Danger of Regionalism in Security Allocation: Prioritizing security based on perceptions of which regions are "doing the right thing" risks deepening national divides and fostering a sense of neglect or resentment among communities. It is crucial for the government to adopt a balanced approach to security, addressing the needs of all regions simultaneously, rather than framing security responses in terms of blame or regional merit. 5. Precedents of National Security Efforts: In the past, Nigeria has deployed military resources to regions facing security challenges, such as the Niger Delta during the militancy issues or the Northeast against Boko Haram, without dismissing those challenges as self-inflicted. This sets a precedent that security concerns in any part of the country warrant a proportional and serious response, without regional biases. In summary, while community action is important in addressing local security concerns, it does not replace the responsibility of the government to ensure that every region, regardless of its challenges, receives the necessary support to restore peace and stability. A balanced approach is needed to ensure that no part of the nation is left vulnerable due to regional stereotypes or misunderstandings. |

He is lucky it’s not military rule na bar beach since.
The ibos need to do the way they told northerners to do fight the insurgents yourself. You don’t need govt. They’re your people. What's the essence of having a government then? |

SmartPolician: Emefiele did nothing as Nigeria was still defending naira at the time. However, Tinubu floated the naira before appointing Yemi Cardoso. No CBN governor since our return to democracy has ever faced the kind of challenge Yemi Cardoso is dealing with. If Nigeria was a country where people take positions because they want to make an impact, Cardoso wouldn't have accepted that appointment. This problem Tinubu administration is facing, you guys keep defending incompetent and lack of innovation called a CBN governor... Cardoso lacks short innovations or ideas to solve Nigerian financial crisis.. Is as simple as that |

They surely need US assistance to be able to strike Iran
I will never support oppressors, Iran has the right to defend itself too
Call me whatever you like, but nobody, no country should be allowed to act with so much impunity, we need the balance of power United States are already part of the war The major fear is who will Iran drag into the war.. If not one on one Isreal will deal with Iran |
