We ‎hear today that the 'vested interest' we talked about in our last post are starting to 'show face'. There have been a flurry of activities, visits and phone calls in the last few days.

This is good. Even though it is not our place, we respectfully suggest that the 'vested interests' now continue this fight with the Muslim Community in their own name and leave MSSN OAU out of it.

We understand that they are ideologically opposed to any form of 'formal organisation' in Islam. This is perfectly within their right. What is not proper is to hold the entire body of Muslims on campus hostage to their ideals.

'Your Islam' does not recognise MSSN, then tell your members to shun the MSSN. 'Your Islam' have no place for a duly constituted Muslim Community, so stop using your 'boys' to spread dangerous propaganda about the Muslim Community and its elders.

This for us is the starting point to a sustainable relationship based on mutual respect and far better in our view than the present resort to name calling and deviant behaviour.

Perhaps it may not be out of place to ask the all important question: Who benefits from the sustained attack on the Muslim Community by the La Jama'a? 

Certainly not the Muslim Community.

The story of MSSN OAU in the last ten years is all about 'vested interest'.

It started when a group of La Jama'a students inspired by outside sponsors hijacked the machinery of the MSSN and started to use it to attack the Imam and prominent members of the Muslim Community.‎

They did not stop there. They equally began a war of attrition with the MSSN hierarchy at all levels - everything about the MSSN was bad (its constitution, it's leadership and indeed the rationale for its existence).

The students pulled out of the MSSN at all levels but continued to use its name, goodwill and resources to build up an organisation that fights MSSN and the Muslim Community at all levels.

Our elders say a lie cannot continue forever. The truth is that the La Jama'a are not MSSN and cannot be MSSN. Let them abandon the proxy war on behalf of their sponsors and start their own organisation.
Why must they continue to struggle for a vehicle they do not believe in.

They wrongly claim that being a Muslim automatically makes them members of the MSSN OAU. We respectfully disagree. What makes you a member of an organisation is your subscription to the aims, objectives, ideals, programmes and ideology of the organisation. 

The questions are: 

1) Do you subscribe to the constitution of MSSN?

2) Do you attend meetings, programmes, etc at local, state, B Zone and National

3) Why is the MSSN logo not on your letterhead? 

4) Why do you collect money meant for MSSN into private accounts?

5) Why do the people you openly flaunt as your Staff Advisers not known to you?

6) Why are you not registered with the school authorities like any other responsible and respectable organisation?

Maybe it is time to stop blaming non-existing enemies ‎and focus more on freeing ourselves and our minds from the vested interest benefiting from this unsustainable fraud. Come to think of it, why is it difficult for these individuals to come out and fight their own battles?

In Obafemi Awolowo University, the school that 'Abd (slave) attends, there is a course which could be offered by factually all students of the school and other higher institutions. The course is a *free elective* of code SMS005. It is a *practical course* with no writing and may or may not affect a student's CGPA but will *definitely* affect a student's life after school. It is not a course specifically in one department but could be offered by any student from all departments.

SMS005 is a course that involves two individuals who come together on mutual agreement but depart on mutual discord and grudge against each other.
The course is taught practically without going to a class to learn it. The lecturers are one's pals and associates. It is taught with no pen, note nor manual but with actions and dispositions. The type of friends and associates one has and their actions and dispositions determines one's involvement and offering of the course. Social students are most found offering the course as part of being sociable. It is rare among religious students but it could also be found amidst.
This course may not be well known to the carefree parents at home, but might be known to the concerned guidance.

A student who is sent to school to learn learns more than what is expected of him or her.
A *Couple's life* is an affair of home which should be taught by individual's parent or guidance. Parents who fail to teach their children this lesson before being independent have failed in *Child-Upbringing*.

VISITING THE PEOPLE IN PRISON

Many of us are Moving freely,going to Places we desire to without thinking that there are People behind bars,not able to do what we do.

Many People are there for Offences they did not Commit and Some are there for what they had done, though had Learnt their Lessons.

In recent Visits to One of the Neighboring Prison, it was Observed that the Muslims in there had been Left to Fend for themselves, Forcing them to Convert to other Religions.

Christians pay Visitations; Give Food,Clothing Materials,even Pay Services to Lawyers.

My Concern is that Most of the Muslims in Prisons had Converted to Christians Leaving those that are Committed. It is not even all Money Materials,but Preaching Can be done to them to let them be better Citizens when they eventually get out.

All these has now been Left for Students to do {Which is not really Enough}.One of the things they do say is that even if it just Visitations; to Let them Know they are remembered.

Students do not have enough time to give to these kinds of Commitments Except when Special Occasions are Made.

I hereby Implore Muslim Organizations to Put these People in Consideration as it is one of those Places required for Muslims to Pay Visit to.

MSSN: THE CLAIMANTS
Today, many of the supposed members of MSSN (the offshoots) are mere claimants and unfortunately they are not interested in abiding by the Society's methodological operation (constitution). The type of MSSN they want is MSSN without transition in terms of leadership's position. Once they assumed the leadership's position, tasted its sweetness and felt the population of the followers that they were leading, they felt reluctant to leave the position. They did not want to be led but to be leading people. Some of them hold their personal businesses, P.B (Alaaqort) after demotions from the positions that they previously occupied. They now use the opportunities (of having sympathisers/followers, of gaining some knowledge that they would not have had gained perchance, if they were not in MSSN, etc) that they had gained while in MSSN to get easy start of their P.B. Some of them (the claimants) want to be free to commit atrocities at no MSSN's reprimand because MSSN is known for frowning at any member who indulges in foul action and gets reproached as a result. Imagine one who left MSSN based on Nikkah issue, he or she did not want to get Ameer and other prominent elders in the Society involved before marrying a sister or a brother due to his or her latent caprices.

The Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria popularly refers to as MSSN was established on April 18th, 1954 and was officially launched at the Ansarudeen Alakoro Mosque School Hall, Lagos on 30th May 1954 amidst prayer, joy and exhortation. The antecedents of this noble struggle could be traced to the effort of the triumvirate of Tajudeen Adisa Aromoshodu, Sumola Akin Laguda* and *AbdurRahmaan Alade Saheed of the then Methodist Boys High School, Lagos.

A lot of the claimants cherish political, economic and social benefits that can be guaranteed by retaining the titles, labels or names of the Society to confuse Muslims and others whereas, they can never confuse Allaah. They pay lip service to MSSN at social gatherings, social media, mass media, etc., and sometimes their outward appearances depict them as MSSN members per excellence but their private and community affairs testify to the fact that they are on boarder lines if not outside MSSN. These are mere claimants and a claim does not guarantee the ownership unless the claim is proved.

Those who claim to be MSSN should sincerely believe in the Society's vision and objectives as membership of the Society opens to every Muslim who believes in her vision and objectives.
The Society believes firmly in the Glorious Qur'aan and the Sunnah of the noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as her cardinal basis and guide. The SHARIAH binds on all her members. She further believes and accepts the saying that "the acquisition of knowledge is a lifelong process from the cradle to the grave and thus every Muslim is essentially a student for life"
The vision of MSSN is to establish an Islamic Ummah governed by the principles and rules of the Shariah within the next fifty years. Those who disbelieve in these are indeed far away from being members of MSSN, even though, some of them claim to be.
