I do understand your perspective. As for my friend, he's proven to be a friend in deed over the years. I supported him with 100k when he was jetting out. That is the highest assistance I've ever given to anyone. I trust him with my life and he does same. While over there, he saw an opportunity and asked me to source for money for him and I went as far as borrowing half a million to support him. It's over five months and he has not failed to pay the returns each month. I believe we can create a synergy over there to change our lives for good. As for job, he's watering the ground already for me. greatnaija01: |
J111333:You're right. I'm not expecting it to be all rosy at the beginning but I believe I'll conquer in the long run. I'm a hustler! If I put in half of the effort I put here in Nigeria in a better enabling environment, I believe I'll make it big. I can do any legitimate stuff to stay afloat |
greatnaija01:Thanks for your input. But let me clarify something. My salary currently is less than 50k and the 1.5m I mentioned is a savings of about 4 years from other sources and salaries after denying myself a lot of basic needs. As for my friend over there, he's currently earning about 150k with accommodation, feeding, transportation, utilities, laundry all provided by his company. I have verified this from other independent sources around. I can fit in that salary scale with the other allowances. I understand your point but I've tried some businesses here but the harsh conditions didn't let them thrive. You know how SMEs struggle to survive in this country |
AgonyOfHell:I'm not depending on any agent, Bro. I have a reliable contact in Dubai. He's been a friend for years and we trust ourselves with our lives. |
I've concluded plans to exit this country in search of greener pastures in saner climes. Currently, I'm irritated by almost everything that happens in this country. Besides that, I HATE MY JOB! initially, I plan to jet out on or before January, 2020 but I've been nursing some fears lately. This planned movement will consume all my life savings (about N1.5m). I have a friend over there that has been giving me all information on how to go about the movement. Lately, he told me to go for a safety training that will cost about 200k to increase my chances of getting an average job on arrival but this was not in my budget abnitio. Besides that, the training will be done in four days and the certification will likely be available within a month after completion because it's awarded from the UK. My current employer is not likely to grant me a four days leave under any guise but I think I have to go for the training, anyway. Though I want to quit my job soon but I think doing that before December will add some financial pressure on me and may likely delay my movement. Honestly, I don't want to spend more than a week in Nigeria after I've quit this job. I need advice on what to do and how much I'm likely to earn on the average maybe as an OND holder in Dubai. I have some ICT skills and I'm currently running two online courses on Android development and artificial intelligence on Udacity. Please, help a brother. Mods, please expose this on the front page. |
Please, I need candid advice from matured minds. |
BhossTee:Did you write? |
Vannlex:Did you write in the morning or afternoon |
His friend successfully wrote her jamb exam on Saturday, 10th March, 2018 but her result is not yet out. Please can anyone confirm if results of candidates who wrote their exams on the above date have been released by JAMB? |
friendlyadvice:You are wrong!!!! I have lots of evidence to nail the man. I fortified myself from the beginning of the transaction by keeping track of everything discussed in both visual and non visual formats. The last thing I will do is to let anyone reap the fruits of my labor leaving me in sorrow |
Sometime in 2013, I got involved in Nollywood as an actor. I sort for ways to work my way to limelight but it was very difficult due to corruption and unprofessionalism that has overwhelmed the industry. Since my secondary school days, I developed passion for acting and I pursued it with unprecedented determination. I was so good as acting that it won me a three year scholarship when I was in SS1. I was featured as a lead character in a drama we acted during graduation ceremony of our SS3 students then. Due to my outstanding performance, one of the invited guests decided to reward me with the scholarship. I AM STILL VERY GRATEFUL TO THE MAN, THOUGH HE'S LATE. This passion was still burning in me, despite the fact that it somehow became passive from the time I left secondary school till around February, 2013 (nearly 15 years), but I knew within me that I have something to offer in the industry. Then came this time I joined Nollywood properly in Port Harcourt in 2013. Everyone I met and worked with confirmed that I have a great talent but wining a significant role was very difficult because directors and other crew members demands money from actors before awarding any significant role to them. Even actresses pay for roles sometimes in cash and other times with their bodies. It became very frustrating to me because I had no money to give anyone for movie roles. Then I decided to further my my ambition in the industry through script writing. Within weeks, I discovered another hidden talent in me that I can actually write quality and suspense filled movie scripts. I engaged my brain and I developed, wrote and screenplayed more than 4 movie scripts. Then I decided to test the waters with my maiden script with the hope that if the script scales through, at least It will fetch me some good roles when the movie will be shot. I called the attention of notable directors in the industry but they all turned me down with reason that they do not accept scripts from random writers. I met one of the directors I have worked with here in Port Harcourt. He requested for the script which I gladly gave him to study. After like a month, he called me to a hotel and was full of excitement. He told me that the script is very outstanding and of good quality. I asked him to advise on the way forward, he promised me that he will shoot the movie in few months and compensate me partly with an agreed amount of money, lead role and my intellectual right acknowledged. I was very glad that at least I had arrived. When I found out that the man was not fulfilling his promise after a long while, I called him but he gave me excuses that he was busy sourcing fund for the movie. At I point, I found out that he has sold the script to a third party without my consent. I confronted him but he denied it. I asked him to return the script he objected. Since 2013 till date I have neither recovered my money or the script as every effort I made towards that direction was frustrated by this director. I am thinking of commencing a legal action against him since I have lots of evidence including our chats, phone calls and other ones I prefer to keep discrete now. Please, I need advice on the best way to handle this. |

I work in a private company in somewhere Lagos. I got this job after some months of desperate job hunt. When I started this job in January 2017, I thought I would grow and get some promotions maybe within the shortest time frame. So I gave my all. Now the problem is that my boss wants to engage me for 24 hours. She calls me anytime she feels like to process some documents and respond to clients' inquiries. Even at midnight and beyond. At first, I thought it was because of the pressure we faced during the season but this continued even as I type this. I have tried to curtail this behavior of hers but she is not giving up. The most annoying part of this is that whenever her children are given assignments in their schools, she would tell them to give it to me to solve for them without minding my personal schedule. Her children attends one of the best schools here in Lagos. I have personally told her to respect my unofficial hours and avoid adding unofficial assignments to my job description but she wouldn't listen. At a point, I tactically delayed the assignment for days and she started complaining that I am incompetent. I have made up my mind to quit the job at any slightest opportunity but the role I play in the company is very critical that I can't just wake up one day and resign. Though she rarely praises me, a couple of her friends have told me how she boasts of my competence and the innovations and values I have added to the company.. Note that three months into the job, she offered me a one bedroom flat at her boys quarters and I didn't hesitate to accept because the place is somewhat closer to the office than where I lived. And sometimes, I join her in the car to the office in the morning thereby saving some fare cost. Please, I need all the ideas you can give me to handle the situation. |
