ladyF:

The question is would you want to sell lower than 145 and reduce your profit margin when all your mates are selling at 145? They could even decide to take an unanimous decision that no one should sell below N145...

But say for example, ifeanyi Uba announces today that his stations will sell at N110 nationwide, then we will all keep our tanks and jerricans till we spot a Capital Oil petrol station. That's when the real competition will start and others may be compelled to lower their prices too. But until then.... #WeWait cry

This is where we expect the crave for profits to drive the forces of Demand and Supply & in the long run control prices of the product. If no cartel is formed among them (oil marketers), we will experience what happened with the Telecommunications Industry in 2006. Someone may come in with the idea of price penetration as LadyF mentioned, his demands will rise, more products sold and maybe more profits in the long run. Other competitors seeing this may also decide to lower price, put in palliatives or adopt other means to attract demand and all these will affect the price. But as NPComplete right put, hope Nigeria does not defy this economic logic as always.

Based on all above, It's gonna be some miracle to have medicals before knowing our Assessment result. lol. anyways you are welcome.
dway4ward:
Working back from the fact its January resumption and the one month notification period to employers. Latest notification window is first week in November. Good news, we have less than a month to notification.
On the idea of less than 90 people, possible yeah. That's best in each department, then best 2 from each state. Whatever it is, I don enter.
coolio2014:
Simple really... If we are to resume by January, we will need to give our present employers 1 months notice. If this is the case, the following should hold true (all other things being equal).
1. We ought to be informed of resumption date by Last week in November.
2. Based on 1 above, we ought to have medicals by 2nd week on November.
3. Based on 2 above, we ought to be notifies of assessment results by 3rd week of November.... ceteris paribus.

Me I nor even dey with all of these permutations, my own be say make God gimme cause to be very happy upon the release of the result ANYTIME NLNG deems it fit for the public. The wait nor be small thing. #Godhearyourboi#

I think we have a new oracle in NLNG2014. Just got the mail below:

Dear XXXXXXX,

Please with regards to the mail below, notifying you that the next phase of Assessments for the ongoing Graduate Trainee recruitment will commence in 1st Quarter 2015, we write to inform you that the start date has been moved to a later date.

This change in start date is due to the postponement of the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections.

New dates will be communicated to you in due course.

We regret any inconvenience this postponement might cause.

Thank you for your interest in Nigeria LNG Limited.

Best Regards,

NLNG Recruitment Team

I am not sure their is a time answer to this question. The question did not state the time it takes to manufacture a jumbo jet or the existing one neither do we have the information on how long it takes to sell new ones. Based on the information available, we can only state based on my lil maths that the investment of $12bn cannot be recovered solely from the sales of the new 250 jumbo jets as that can only yield $6.25bn profit (Unit profit * No.of jets). We will need the profit margin on the replacement jets to quantify the total profits on the airplanes. Therefore, depending on how fast the Jumbo jets are made and sold, only a max profit of $6.25bn can be made on the new ones while some more may be made on the replacement of existing airplanes depending on the cost of manufacture & selling price; while the time it will take will also depend time to manufacture and sell.
Djbaka: A Mckinsey Interview case-study
In 1998, there were two airplane manufacturers – Boeing and Airbus both manufacturing similar products. Boeing and Airbus both produced about seven products of about 100 and 300 seats. Boeing then announced it had started developing a 400 seater Boeing 747 to which Airbus had no response. Airbus then decided to manufacture the Jumbo jet - a 500 seater aircraft.

Airbus has been told it would cost $12bn in research and development expenses to come up with a new Jumbo Jet. It costs $175m to produce one airplane and it can be sold for $200m. Airbus has decided to introduce the new 500-seater jumbo jets by the introduction of 250 new jumbo jets and the replacement of 250 existing airplanes. How many years would it take Airbus to recover its investment?

Give it a shot achievers! smiley

If all you want is for everyone to cross atleast once, then Amaka would not need to come back. You save 2mins and get your job done in 10mins. But, you sincerely threw the box away. What happened to implied meaning?

Yea....I agree but since the puzzle wanted 12mins, we gotta play by the rules smiley

I am happy I am finally able to post on this thread after months of reading and learning from other peoples' comments. Special thanks to d guy that posts very important info (the guy that answered 10 questions afta getting restricting instructions from HR, and d Ebola post....can't recall his username).

Meanwhile, I will like to post on the riddle on crossing. One thing I will like to stress is that for every puzzle, there is sumtin to give specific attention to....in this case, the emphasis was "cross the bridge" and not necessarily every one being on the other side of the bridge at the end, hence, it is possible to cross the bridge in 12mins. Here is my analysis:

Audu and Amaka cross = 2mins
Audu returns to bring back torch = 1min
Adeyinka and Adesuwa cross = 7mins
Amaka returns to bring back torch = 2mins
Total of 12minutes.

I know sum1will criticise this but the truth is even though Audu and Am aka are back at the starting point point, they have crossed the bridge which is the requirement of the puzzle. My opinion and answer to the puzzle.

I take a bow bosses.
