This module will discuss SQL Server Management Studio, Configuration Manager, Surface Area Configuration tool, SQL Server Profiler, System Monitor, Upgrade Advisor, Performance Studio, Declarative Management Framework, and Database Tuning Advisor.

The goal of this module is to give the DBA a deeper understanding of the best practices surrounding file and filegroups. This module discuss topics such as: file placement, optimizing the tempdb, file size, growing files, shrinking files and placing objects into different filegroups.

The goal of this module is to introduce the DBA to the concurrency mechanisms of SQL Server. This module will discuss topics such as: transactions, isolation levels, lock escalation, blocking, deadlocking, locking hints, and the new snapshot isolation.
