Daft idea. Why create a cashless policy only to turn around and levy the citizens for using same electronic medium you advocated for?

Wickedness, daft, evil government.

Politics / Re: Kenneth Okonkwo Slams Tinubu For Acquiring Presidential Jet Amid Hardship by stanisbaratheon: 7:56am On Aug 20
emkz:
While it seems criticisms of the president are apt, certain facts must be cleared.

Presidential transportation worldwide is a serious security matter. In our case, air transport of the president is handled by the Nigerian Airforce. If the airforce says a jet is unfit to fly the president because it might have stayed in service longer than specified, hence a potential aviation threat, it is only fair that we listen to them. We do not need to like them.

Those suggesting that the president must fly commercial or use his personal vehicles (like Deji Adeyanju) are not aware of the potential security threats. A Nigerian head of state was assassinated in broad daylight in his official car, while another one was murdered for not taking their security serious.

The aircraft here does not belong to Tinubu. It belongs to the Federal Government. Once Tinubu leaves power, he won't take the jet with him. So those accusing Tinubu of purchasing a private jet for himself are being ludicrous.

Yesterday, Charly Boy lied that the president's official car, Cardilac Escalade is worth almost 1 billion naira. A simple internet search showed that the vehicle is about 250 million naira. Still expensive, why did Charly Boy have to lie? When Buhari exited power, he didn't leave with the Maybach. The vehicle was not his. The Cardilac does not belong to Tinubu. DSS handles his ground transportation. Why not question DSS for proposing that vehicle?

And for those who are just realizing, the Cardilac Escalade SUV had been in use since last year and sighted several times in the convoy, how come they are just seeing it? The vice president is driven in one of such vehicles. How come they have not seen it?

Anyway, Kenneth Okonkwo says people are dying of hunger and there is no fuel or electricity. It is not Tinubu's job to cultivate arable land nationwide. It is not Tinubu's job to provide buses to transport people within states. These are things state governors can easily undertake on their own, and even local governments. We have seen the Niger State governor buy such buses. Once the burden of transportation is removed, the issue of fuel price would not bother so many.

The fact is that the president is being blamed for policies, but all presidential candidates agreed that subsidy on petrol needed to be removed. Even the messianic pontiff said he'd remove it on day 1. Suddenly, Tinubu is being condemned for taking the decision to save us from economic doom. It didn't make sense that we were borrowing to pay subsidies. Also, the removal of the parallel trade of fx was to tackle the fx fraud that drained our resources.

This meant that increased allocation could be used for developmental purposes in the states. What do the state governors do instead? We find them doing Hajj subsidies and Ramadan feeding, purchasing vehicles for traditional rulers, buying wheelbarrows to turn their unemployed youth to mai-barrow in the markets, and stacking funds for elections they are not sure of living to partake in.

Dear governors, learn one basic thing: from what happened in Kano during the August riots, when people take to the streets, they'd target governors first and they can only move up the ladder once they have brought you down.

You still have time to work for your people and address the basic problems of food security and transportation within your state. We shall criticize the president for the things we must criticize him on.

But hunger and hardship in the country is of greater security concern to the government than acquiring a new jet.

There are heads of states that don't travel as frequent as Tinubu and yet their countries are doing well.

Does any of this rubbish make sense to Nigerians?

Let's be rational about this. If your product's supposed to be effective and it doesn't pass the test when I test it, then it's simply not doing its job. And that's rather like how I don't need to love my doctor or prescription for their prescribed treatment to be effective, it either works or it doesn't, regardless of personal feelings.

Nothing makes sense anymore in Nigeria. Some so-called pastors are now taking a cue from politicians on how to whine the populace. Just imagine the rubbish.

Religion / Re: 4 Lawyers Said Prophet Jeremiah Will Be Disgraced & Rubbished In Court - Man by stanisbaratheon: 4:24am On Aug 11
Quest7777:
Lets get this clear:

-Prophet Fufeyin manufactures soap,
-sends the soap to NAFDAC for certification,
-NAFDAC certifies the soap based on the listed ingredients, that it is OK for use by Nigerians,
-Fufeyin prays over the soap and presumably impacts healing powers into the soap,
-Fufeyin puts up the soap for sale,
-Nigerians who believe Fufeyin has impacted healing powers into the soap buy the soap.

-VDM calls out Fufeyin as a Scammer
-Fufeyin sues him to court for spoiling business for him, restraining him from further speaking against the miracle soap.

My opinion:
*Nafdac only certified the soap as ordinary soap not as miracle soap so Nafdac has nothing to answer

*Court can not convict Fufeyin as a Scammer. I have never seen any pastor jailed on account of failed religious belief or prophecy.
Also it will mean all these pastors who sell Olive Oil as Anointing Oil would have been convicted.

*VDM should be careful. He stands the risk of being convicted for Defamation, cyberbullying or some other criminal charges.

*I'm not in any way justifying Fufeyin. I'm only looking at the legal perspective.

What about the supposed miracle water he sells, does ministry of water resources approve it for sale too?

Food / Re: Would You Try This Interesting Ghanaian Dish? (picture) by stanisbaratheon: 10:05pm On Aug 05
Mariangeles:
I don't know what this dish is called, but it certainly looks interesting.

From my observation, I think grinded fresh peppers is the base (Ghanaians eat peppers raw quite a lot), then seasoned and garnished with other orisirisi.

Would you try this interesting dish?
If you would, what food would you eat it with?
For me, I think I can dare to try it with rice.
I'm quite sure it has a nice aroma.

Ghanian dishes are generally good.

I remember one Ghanaian lady that lived with us some years back, she prepares a dish called kenke ( don't know if I got the name right) that looks like this one you posted. That dish is usually eaten with grounded corn that is molded and then baked. Mehn the gravy has a lot of pepper in it.

I work in the public sector and I can say for a fact that electricity cannot be stolen without the collaboration of some staff of the utility company.

You will see a staff from a distribution company coming to tell a customer that he can help them do a meter bypass at a certain cost. Very shameful thing

No but now that u nmentioned it let me adjust it. My number 1 will always be Nas who in my opinion is the greatest lyricist of all time of any music genre. My list is based on mic skills, lyrics, cadence etc. But lyrics form a far far bigger factor for me. Take note that the lyrics don't have to be too complex such that the listener is lost, like in an artist like lupe fiasco but the complex rhyme patterns should complex common sense.

Some guys are lambasting me for not putting Eminem.

Eminem is like a rap athlete. Very versatile yet boring most times.
U see the subject matter Eminem attends too is my problem with him.
Fast rap and double entendre don't move me.

I wish Eminem would return to the Eminem of 'say what you say feat dr dre' era. That was prime Eminem. All this fast rap he does isn't it.
And I'll say it, since his verse in renegade with Jay Z, Eminem has not had a better verse. Go check it out.

And rappers like Nas, jay Z, Raekwon give u lyrics that even Shakespeare would be marvled at.

Let me give u some lines frm Nas tracks so u understand.

'Steak tartare bloody, mercury levels from raw fish
Sushi for lunch, waiter at the table, the cork twist'

That's like prose, something Shakespeare would be proud of.

Again:

'Let's take three brothers and put them in the bing or something
Who's gon' survive the wise man, the fool or the warrior?
Well if all of their minds are chisel, then all of them'

That's some real life lesson there.

I don't even want to begin to mention over 70 Nas tracks better than all Eminem songs lyrically.

The rest of the top 20 is difficult, but I'll put kool g rap in my top 5.
I'll put AZ and Raekwon in my top 15

I'll put biggie in my top 5 too.

Ill put Lauryn Hill in my top 20 too.

But Nas makes all other rappera look like kids.

Big L was tight too before he tragically passed.
