195 million lines, one network past 100 million: Nigeria's mobile market in numbers Nigeria's active mobile lines reached 195.11 million in July 2026, and MTN alone passed 100 million. The bigger story is how concentrated the market has become, and how loosely it is still measured. Nigeria had 195.11 million active mobile lines in July 2026, according to Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) data reported on 10 September. That was 2.88 million more than in June. MTN accounted for 100.86 million of them, the first time a single Nigerian network has crossed 100 million subscriptions. It is a big round number, and big round numbers get headlines. But the milestone is the least interesting thing in the data. What the July figures really describe is a market that has turned into a two-player game, measured in a way that should make anyone using it a little careful. https://statartinsightsandanalytics.com/blog/nigeria-mobile-market-195-million-lines-2026.html
