I think maybe he is waiting for another Elena doppelganger dat might be born in d next century in order to fall in love again... of course he will always have side chicks; Rebekah ,Caroline (both blonds) to settle for d time being so even if he eventually yields to Caroline's yearning love,in d next 100 yrs ,he is going to fall in love with another Elena doppelganger.

my dear am sorry to bust your bubbles but stelena is way over. I used to be a hard core stelena fan then u go a few pages back u will see how crazy I was. Stelena was n will always be better, the writes make that clear to us from the very beginning its always gonna be stefan stefan breaking klaus composition just because of elena. But because there is a lot of Ian fans who also happen to be delena fans especially when Ian was dating Nina, the writers decided to go with that ship instead. It's all business for them Nina please the majority I refuse for them to play with my intelligence anymore. I don't give a damn anymore. The only ship all shipping right Nina of is enzo N caroline.
