PetroDollax: UN Ranks Nigeria’s Life Expectancy As Third Lowest In The World By Olalekan Yinusa - April 30, 2019 FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailCopy LinkWhatsAppShare BEVERLY HILLS, April 30, (THEWILL) – Nigeria has been ranked the world’s third lowest life expectancy rate of 55 years by the United Nations (UN). In a report by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) it said the life expectancy of an average Nigerian in 2019 is only better than those of people in Sierra Leone, Chad and the Central African Republic. The three countries have respectively 53, 54, 54 years as their life expectancy rates, the report states while war-torn Afghanistan has 65 years; Somalia has 58; and Syria has 73. The report puts Nigeria’s current population at 201 million and states that the total fertility rate among Nigerian women has dropped from 6.4 in 1969 to 5.3 in 2019, this means an average Nigerian woman gives birth to at least five children. The UN agency’s report shows that Nigeria’s population moved from 54.7 million in 1969 to 105.4 million in 1994. It grew to 201.0 million in 2019. Of this number, 44 per cent are between the ages of 0 and 14, while 32 per cent are within the ages of 10 and 24. The report differs slightly from the estimate of the National Bureau of Statistics, which reported in 2018 that Nigeria’s population was 198 million. The report also reveals that “child marriage” in Nigeria by the age of 18 years is 44 per cent, while the adolescent birth rate at age 15-19 per 1000 girls in the country is 145. The report also says contraceptive prevalence rate by any method among Nigerian women aged 15-49 is only 19 per cent, while contraceptive prevalence by modern method among Nigerian women by the same age bracket 15 per cent. Too bad for the giant in poverty

rvp2018: Make Tanzania great when economy has tanked(3% growth rate), foreign investment dried up, when there is capital flight to Kenya and Tanzania Shilling has weakened. When gov has cracked down on media, opposition and anybody who disagree with current dictator. When donors are withholding critical funding for the poor. When gov is unable to nail down natural gas and Uganda pipeline deals. You don't just buy a few jets and think country is now great. That is like painting a lipstick on a pig.You using half the budget to service debt. That idiot of a president is urging you to breed like rats, is against pregnant girls continued schooling and hunts down gays in 21st century. He has stymied regional integration and trade.Give him another 10yrs and youll go bankrupt again.Making Tanzania Bankrupt Again is more original and truthful slogan. Then they start contradicting with the world bank $IMF just to keep Tanzanians in darkness about their backwardness |

rvp2018: These are private investment. They are willing to invest billion dollars because they sign a power purchasing agreement with power distributor and gov treasury guarantee this. For example Lake Turkana wind was around 700M dollars foreign investment to supply 360w of wind power. When we delayed completion of evacuation line...thanks again to dodgy Spanish contractor going belly up.. treasury paid 40M dollars for idle power. But this year alone Turkana wind saved us 80m dollars of diesel or thermal power.Nigeria if it adopt this model would solve their power issues very easily while spending zero. But you gotta have brains..to think through this..not Bihari cattle rustling brain These visionless niggars won't fathom this kind of projects.... |

theenchanter: in absolute numbers, mumu... not in real term.
Many countries are still poorer than Nigeria. By %age of Extreme poverty as of July 2019 1) South Sudan 80% or 10.7m 2) DRC 71% or 60m 3) Mozambique 56.5% or 16million 4) Zambia 53% or 8.8million 5) Nigeria 47% or 94.5million Tanzania 25% or 18.3million Kenya 16.7% or 8.3million poverty in all these 5countries equals to the poverty in Nigeria alone |

rvp2018: very possible..Kenya, Ethiopia n even Tanzania are lifting millions out poverty..so that leaves Nigeria and DRC to share the poverty prize. The most insane thing both countries are blessed with incredible natural resources worth more than 24 trillion dollars each.Nigeria already cashed 1 trillion dollars from oil alone But with absolutely nothing to show. They lack brains.... they'll then export their backwardness to disturb other focused countries
