Shut up is not an insult. Kogi is north. I will save this for tomorrow because you people will still claim in another day that it is Oduduwa land. Kano is the centre of commerce what has has he invested in? Lets leave kano, what of the entire 7 northwestern state he came from, what has he invested? I agreed it is not an obligation, but you cannot called people Jobless when you left them to develop another person land. Dangote is not a northern elder. I repeat Atiku have show more patriotism than him.

The south benefited Dangote more than his birth region. If Nigeria should break or restructure in to six region what can he write about his home.

Dangote has developed the South by investing in the South and the South should be grateful. On the other hand, the Igbo have under-developed the North by investing in the North and should therefore be chased back to the South. I find the Igbo vs Hausa/Fulani logic interesting, very interesting indeed -smiley

We all need one another in this great country, the problem is we hate one another yet depend on the crude oil from the delta. The only thing keeping Nigeria as one nation is the crude oil money that the elite love so much.

Northerners are peace loving people like the majority of the southerners but in every society we have unscrupulous elements that want to have division create problem and make comments that will see the nation on fire.

Our problem is the rich against the poor not Hausa vs Yoruba or igbo vs Hausa etc. But we are been divided based on ethnicity and religious differences to never be united to fight our common enemy which is the political elite

Sir you are sugarcoating the north like it is in anyway better than other parts of the country. If we had abolished quota system for true federalism long time ago we would have overcome these agitations by then; the quota system favouring the north at the expense of others.

My brother, things would have been much worse without the quota system. It is the quota system that has made it possible to have someone like this guy, who at least can use the keyboard in addition to shining shoes :-)

The Ibos want Biafra
The North wants Ibo's exit
The Yorubas want Ibo's exit
The Ibos are saying "we have investments in your areas and cannot leave them"
And the fight is being cooked.

Amongst all these, the President is in London
Governors are sharing bailout funds
Workers salaries are not paid
Government officials have their children schooling abroad
Ministers and senators are looting

The poor Hausa man is riding Okada
The poor Ibo man is riding Okada
The poor Yoruba man is riding Okada

The poor Hausa man sleeps under the bridge as Alamajiri
The poor Yoruba man sleeps under the bridge as Alaye
The poor Ibo man sleeps under the bridge as agbero

It is pertinent to note that the poor from all ethnic groups in Nigeria have everything in common and so is the rich.

Do not allow the agitation of an Ibo man who lives in UK or USA for Biafra cause the killing of the Ibo man in Adamawa. The rich hate us that much.
Do not allow the Alhaji whose children are living abroad to persuade you to go and start killing on the street of Kaduna.

The problem in the country is not the agitation of any ethnic group but the unity of the elite and the disunity of the masses.

How many times have you taken your agitation to question your local government Chairmen?

Why have you not asked your Governors through agitation how they spent bailout fund?

Why have you not agitated against that government official whose mansions you go to beg for help?

Sad to note;
All the Governors love themselves
All the past Presidents love themselves
All the senators love themselves
All the top government officials love themselves
All the looters love themselves

Why can't you and I love ourselves?
Why cant we combine efforts and fight them?
Why do we fight ourselves?
Why do we allow them the freedom we don't have?

Remember; a good Nigeria is better than a good Arewa, Oduduwa or Biafra.

#One_love_Nigeria.

Can you please not share this post which is purported to have been written by Professor Wole Soyinka. I don't believe it was written by Professor Soyinka. That learned man couldn't have used the word, "Ibo", for there is no such thing as "Ibo". It is "Igbo". I suspect that this rubbish was written by an enemy of the Igbo, primarily to create the impression that the Igbo are bad people whom nobody wants in Nigeria, whereas nothing could be further from the truth.

You might want to take a look at the precedent again, she was the actual victim and she was inside when she presented her case. This is what I meant by direct victims, the precedent's claims also happened during a military regime, it is easy for court to associate hate crimes with a dictatorship but it has never been applied to a democratic dispensation otherwise the USA would be the number 1 offender.

I see what you mean, but it would appear that the plaintiffs are also the actual victims in the current case. I assume that what you mean by the plaintiff being inside is that she was still in captivity when her case was presented, but that may not be completely true. She sued in 1992 for an injury suffered in 1989.

Are you retarded or did your mother drop you while you were a baby? Read what you posted, does it mention criminal prosecution? NO! Where the defendants diresctly harmed by Burutai or his men? NO! The ATCA "allows Americans and foreigners to file suit for violations of international law while the defendant is in the United States. Why not stop relying on wikipedia and do some research yourself, you are obviously not strong in the intelligence spectrum so I'll repeat myself, U.S district courts have no jurisdiction in this matter, the case is beyond their authority and the act that you claim does not hold water in a democratic government. I could understand if the 10 Biafrans were direct victims and have exhausted all local efforts for compensation but to go direct to a U.S district court is foolish especially when we have international bodies capable of much harsher judgments...Stop your foolishness and educate yourself!

Bro, but according to the precedent, it is unlikely that the defendant was in the United States. It is also possible that the Biafrans may have exhausted all local efforts for compensation, although I suspect that it might not have been possible for a local court to accept such a case. Besides, the Biafrans would be too scared to sue someone like Burutai in Nigeria.

I'll just show you 3 things wrong here:

1. Civil Case: What Biafrans want is not monetary compensation but criminal prosecution.

2. Extrajudicial killing - Biafrans would have to argue that the protesters were not armed and the use of force was not sanctioned by the present rule of law in Nigeria.

3. They now have to show that they have exhausted all local remedies which means they have tried the judicial system in Nigeria, there are written documentation of nonchalant response from the justice system and so on.

There's a reason why this particular act has never been applied to a democratic government, the burden of proof is exhausting!

I suppose we can only wait and see. I am sure that the 10 Biafrans must have been advised that they had a good case. Otherwise they wouldn’t have gone to court.

The Torture Victim Protection Act of 1991 (TVPA; Pub.L. 102–256 , H.R. 2092 , 106 Stat. 73 , enacted March 12, 1992) is a statute that allows for the filing of civil suits in the United States against individuals who, acting in an official capacity for any foreign nation, committed torture and/or extrajudicial killing . The statute requires a plaintiff to show exhaustion of local remedies in the location of the crime, to the extent that such remedies are "adequate and available." Plaintiffs may be U.S. citizens or non-U.S. citizens.

Although the Act was not passed until early 1992, it was introduced the previous year, and the official name of the Act is the "Torture Victim Protection Act of 1991."

Legal issues
In 1992, Sister Dianna Ortiz was the first to file a case under the act, in a civil action against former general and Defense Minister Héctor Gramajo of
Guatemala , contending that, by his command authority, he was responsible for her abduction, rape, and torture by military forces in Guatemala in November 1989. A federal court in Massachusetts ruled in her favor, awarding her $5 million in damages in 1995.

You see you got it all wrong. The biggest problem IPOB brought on itself is when they don't show respect to others. They insult the North calling them cows, Dullard, parasite and all that then they face the west and call them slaves, waste and all sort yet they are doing business in this places. People will get really angry for such gross disrespect , do you see the North insult anyone. Whether West or East. You know they don't show their anger with words but actions and it usually leads to carnage. IPOB should respect everyone, stop telling people you will buy their land, you control their economy. It would exasperate them. IPoB respect others, it would help others to understand your agitation. It is not jealousy, it is anger and irritation. Can't you see for the first time, they opposed their governors calling them cowards and hypocrites. Don't be deceived no one has been arrested. DSS was quick to arrest Apostle Sulaiman. The North is not in want of foot soilders. IPOB should thread softly. The international community will not help especially where they have started discovering oil all over. It was oil that made us attractive in the first place. What have they done in Congo, Libya other than supply more arms for the complete devastation of themselves.

I would rather be insulted than be killed. One point that is lost on all us is that the IPOB and indeed the Igbo have not killed anyone. The same cannot be said of some other ethnic groups.

This sort of details will be ironed out between Nigeria and Biafra to mutual advantage. That is why a peaceful separation remains important. Have you considered the fact that some Nigerians may for a variety of reasons choose to take up the Biafrian citizenship, in addition their Nigerian citizenship? Strange as it may seem, it won't hurt to have such an option. Wouldn't you like the option of the Ghanaian citizenship? This is something you may not have considered some 10 years ago. Finally, a reasonable and mature person.

It is the right of Igbos to want it to be orderly. There are however two main parties to this. Secondly, even if they leave, it is the right of the "Zoo"/Nigeria not to grant citizenship to Aliens or foreign nationals from any country in this world. So whether a small minority want to stay or not, the result will be most unfortunate. But then, these are things that are bound to happen. Change and change management is never 100 percent perfect.

As a matter of fact, I am in support that Nigeria should let them go peacefully. And I also further think that they needent even wait to be told. They should capitalize on the opportunity presented them recently.

I totally support Nigeria letting them separate peacefully. But the terms and conditions of the status of Biafrans living in Nigeria will be determined by the Nigerian State.

Finally, If Nigeria does not let them go, they shall keep putting the blame of all their problems on Nigeria. They will only be in this union, discontented.
It is not reasonable to expect them to just walk out and form their own country. It takes two to tango. Nigeria and the new country must negotiate the terms of the separation to mutual advantage. Now we have assumed that only the Igbo invest. But we all know that is not true. Non Igbo also invest. Therefore, there is a good chance that some Nigerians may have substantial investments in what will become Biafran territory. In any case, Niger delta has threatened to leave Nigeria with their oil, in the event that the Igbo are forcefully removed from Nigeria. This goes to show the Igbo are not interested in the oil of the Niger Delta and the good people of the Niger Delta know that.

The irony of the Biafra Agitation.

You want Biafra. They chase you out of Nigeria. Instead of siezing the opportunity to go back home enmass, you say you are not going anywhere. I expect great jubilation and joyous celebrations. I expect mass movement. I expect the Ghana Must Go scene which I witnessed. Truck loads of Ghanaians, moving out. With Jute bags which became nicknamed "Ghana-Must-Go" bag.

If you want Biafra all you need do is go back to the East enmass. Refuse to trade with Nigeria. Refuse to have anything to do with Nigeria. When you are going back, no policeman or soldier will say "why are you travelling"? Freedom of movement to your states of origin is a fundamental Human Right. In my opinion. No one is holding you back but yourselves.

It doesn't even matter if a few of your elders are in the service of Nigeria as appointees etc. Ignore them. Build your Biafra, when it is as rossy as you claim it will be, they will have no choice but to go back to their dear Biafra.

So for all intents and purposes, this is the opportunity you have been praying for. Leave the North. Go back home. Build your utopia. Boycott everything Nigerian.
Biafra is being given to you on a platter of gold. Your leaders are saying they are not going anywhere and daring the North to attack them. Be united in purpose and be ready to go through the "pain" and "surgery" of achieving a good and perfect Biafra. This pain will involve leaving your businesses, property, etc. But it is for a good cause. Child bearing comes with some pain. The birthing of Biafra will not come without sacrifices.

Nnamdi Kanu says Nigeria will beg Biafra to go. The North has told you to go. So take the opputunity to do so. If Nigeria does not let you leave you will blame all your troubles on Nigeria. It is for this reason alone, that I support Biafra. Everyone needs the opportunity to take the chance and go the distance. So sieze the chance. You have been given till October. The distance between the major parts of the North and the East is generally less than 24 hours by road. I should expect a great jubilation when the North asked you to vacate without a gun shot. I expect a great exodus. Your leaders should come together and choose a course of action.

If you understand strategy you should take this golden opportunity. Pharaoh as asked the Jews to leave Egypt. What are the Jews still waiting for? They now refuse to go to the promised land. There is no red sea in this story. The promised land is known and available. No need for scouts and no need to traverse the deserts. Again I am expecting a great exodus. A huge one. When citizens of another country are not wanted anymore they are expelled. You are Biafrans and Nigeria has expelled you. So go back to your Biafra and gladly do so.

If this opportunity is not taken, then the Biafra matter is just that of a people trying to constitute a nuisance, disunited in purpose and annoyingly empty in character. Biafra has come, take it and stop the indecision. Stop worrying about what you will loose. These are necessary. South Sudan lost a lot after the referendum including the rights to pump it's oil through pipelines that go through Sudan to the export terminals. They had to negotiate the fees/cost of pumping South Sudan's Oil.The South Sudanese did not bother about their property in Khartoum. Theirs was even worse. They were never told to go, the way the North has peacefully ordered Biafrans to do. This is a once in a life time opputunity. Take it.

Do not start wondering what will happen to your investments. To your market of about 150 million Nigerians. Your perhaps about 40-60 million Biafrans are available (we do not know your true population figures). Trade with them and find new international trade partners. Do not start bothering about what will become of Lekki, or Festac, or Ikeja, or Ikorodu, or Abuja or other areas you "developed". In my opinion, only a foolish man develops another man's land and leaves his own and then he even boasts about this to the world about this great mistake and miscalculation. It is when you have developed yours to your satisfaction that you then extend your good developmental gestures to other "less fortunate people".

Unite in purpose. Buhari is not even in the country. Osinbanjo is more reasonable. Take the chance. Move ensmass. Exodus out of all parts of Nigeria. Move back home. Organize yourselves. Ignore everything in Nigeria. This opportunity will never come again. You are putting your hope in ICJ and UN etc. Time and time again, these organizations have stood by and watched endless maacascre of innocent civilians. Syria, South Sudan etc. Even the Nigeria/Biafra Civil War.

You claim you have all the businesses. You can cripple Nigeria. Nigeria is a zoo. Your footballers are the best. Your women are the best. You are the most industrous. You are the most brilliant. You are the most hard working. You are the most advanced. Your exodus alone should then help you win this agitation. So, cripple Nigeria by leaving. Destroy Nigeria by removing all your services. Obliterate Nigeria by withdrawing your elite. Stall Nigeria's evolution of her human gene pool by taking back your pretty light complexioned igbo girls. In fact go back home and lock your shops again. This time, lock them for good. It has come to you easier than you imagined. The next time you are coming to Nigeria, do so with the ECOWAS Passport or a Biafran passport. Pay the Nigerian Visa Fees and go through the process. Refuse to enter Nigeria with a Visa. Yes, if Nigerians say come in, you say "no,that will be illegal since I am an allien. Could you please grant me papers"? If they refuse you go back to Biafra.

The struggle has moved from opening fake propaganda online and lying about how Asari supplies weapons and how Donald Trump warned Buhari. It is this same lies and fake propaganda that contributed to the loss of the Civil War. People hardly knew the facts from fiction and leaders couldn't make rational and calculated decisions. The struggle is now beyond propaganda my dear Biafrans. It has come and stares you in the face. It is real now and no more mere rantings on the internet and other forms/means of mass media and mass communication. Take it the opportunity. It has materialized. I mean see the news in the Zoo city of Lagos. Animals are even treated better than Zoo Animals, Nigerians.

BIAFRA HAS COME. TAKE IT!

Bro, they never asked to be chased out of Nigeria. They asked to be allowed an orderly separation from Nigeria. These are two different things. You are, of course, aware that even though the popular position of the Igbo is that they want their own ethnic homeland to be called Biafra, it is not every Igbo person that supports this position. My view is that Nigeria should lead in a peaceful restoration of Biafra and thereafter allow this silent minority the option of remaining in Nigeria as Nigerians or to take up dual citizenship. That would be mature thing to do.

Every country on earth where Nigerians are humiliated at airports and treated badly is a direct result of igbo drug dealers and criminals BEARING NIGERIAN passports, when you speak about disenfranchised it is non-igbo Nigerians who have suffered.

Igbo people have killed more Nigerians than boko haram and fulani herdsmen with their fake medicines in chemists, contraband and toxic goods. Many Nigerians who have died in road accidents due to igbo fake spare parts are reported as witchcraft and juju.

IGBO greed led to the civil war after killing Northern leaders and led to many reprisal attacks where other Nigerians died.

Never in your miserable life speak of disenfranchised, IGBOs have disenfranchised and are still disenfranchising Nigeria!

Bro, lets be fair now, the reason Nigerians are humiliated all over world is not because of drug dealing. After all, Nigerians don't deal more than the Italians, Mexicans and Columbians. The humiliation was initially due to poverty in Nigeria, as a result of which foreign countries began to see Nigerians as economic migrants and more recently as a result of Nigeria's involvement in terrorism. The Igbo are not responsible for either of these two things.

I found this on facebook. It is a book series drawn from Nigerian folklore. It is good to see Nigerians writing books to promote African and Nigerian culture. Moderator please flick this to the front page. Nigerians will find them useful, especially those with children.

I have finally completed my book series. My daughter learned to read very early in life and as someone with a healthy appetite for reading, her private library quickly grew to hundreds of books. But sadly, none of these books contained materials about her African and Igbo cultural heritage. At the same time, it was very difficult for me to find bedtime books which had stories that were told with a flavour of the Igbo culture or African culture for that matter. Therefore, rather than read stories from books, I told her stories from the Igbo folklore. I am glad to say that these stories have given Chinelo, who has never been to Africa, a healthy perspective of the culture of the Igbo in particular and of Africa in general.

In the end, I set out to write a series of books containing illustrated stories drawn from the endless stock of the Igbo folklore, with adaptation to the contemporary times and language. There are three books in the series and they are available on Amazon.com, in both paper back and e-Book format. Please follow the link below. Although these books are suitable as children bedtime story books, they will be enjoyed by adults who are already familiar with African folk tales for the purpose of satisfying their feeling of nostalgia and perhaps by those who just want to get a feel for the storytelling tradition of the Igbo in particular and of Africa in general.

Friends, please don’t feel pressured to purchase these books. However, if you do read and like them, be kind to leave good review comments on Amazon and if you don’t like them, please don’t give me a hard time  . I need all the encouragement I can get to write more and probably better books. Please share my comment. Some of your friends might find the books useful.
