Oh shit... For a nation that was looking for buyers on the high sea, this was an opportunity lost.

Once again, another proof to show Nigerians are our worst enemies.

But for a level of deal like, you needed to knock at the doors of Finance department of Aso Rock and maybe thinking about it, you also would have had to share that 5% to a lot of people who could take you up to the presidency.

There is no way that kind of deal would have been rejected if it had got high up. Just no way.

Bro there are so many dark force in NNPC, please this was 2015 though.

Na crude you want buy abi oil well?
I keep hearing "lift,lift,lift..."
Wetin concern buying crude and lift and also why will the company buying crude need you when there's a plethora of crude brokers worldwide literally begging for patronage?
What was your advantage over those brokers?
And please quit the sanctimony,NNPC no be church.
Any serious businessman operating at that level knows something must drop for boys undecided

You don't know position I hold and lets keep it that way.
Lift means to lift crude oil like loading it into tanker and taking it to destination. CIF was needed and port of destination was Port of Spain. Any one into oil here should know what i wrote above.

If your type bro was the one that went for my assignments, I'm sure you will end up paying "drops for boys" without you first being sure you are dealing with the right people.

So you join those when de put stress on USD abi.
Never knew crude oil was a commodity that anyone could export, to the best of my knowledge Crude Oil is only exported through the nation's export lines handled mostly by SPDC in collaboration with NNPC.
Anyway, how easy has it been for you to repatriate your funds? Do you use Aboki or CBN?

let me give you little insight about the Deal. The deal of the Crude oil was for company I will not name based in Gibraltar, They have contracts and was exporting to their clients worldwide from Iraq.
During the Isis war, they could not meet up targets anymore and desperately needs a country to supply them. Since I'm from Nigeria, I was assigned to make a direct link with NNPC and they will bid directly with NNPC. Company owner portfolio is £3B plus.

My percent stage for just making a successful link that yields positive results was just 5% for every 2million barrels a month which is minimu the do lift and has capacity of 20 million barrels a month

I was to make $500,000 monthly for the next 5years for each two million barrels, and if the lift 4 million barrels, I will make in that month 1million and if the lift 20, I will make $10million.

But this dishonest individuals blocked all my efforts and demanding outrageous fees , I ended up losing that deal to Angola.

My brother I don't base in Nigeria, I only import into Nigeria not export.
One thing I wanted to consider exporting from Nigeria was crude oil, but a lot of dishonest links and crooks abide in NNPC.

Imagine someone comparing Nestle Nigeria profit margin with that of Delta airline.

Whereas the NSE total market capitalisation is not upto 2% of APPLE market capitalisation.

I believe that our comrade is not well enlightened, so I'm very much here to counter any misinformation from him.

Reason it is not among the top 10 Investments destinations.

Return on asset of 2% is dismal, Nestle Nigeria has about 60%

What is Nestle Nigeria total assets? Can Nestle Nigeria turn profits of 60% on Delta Airlines assets if given?

Let me tell you this, in investment capitals, the higher the money invested , the lower the risk and return of profits, but within a decade, such investment could be 5 times it worth before, this is worth you should know, please don't ever use nestle Nigeria to compare American airlines in terms of business, it's just laughable.

Delta made the biggest profit of $4.1 billion on a revenue of $45 billion, using assets worth $62 billion to generate a profit of $4.1 billion.

That is a return on asset of about 6%
See when you have Asset of $62 bill You should know that even 2% on return of asset is a good profit.

This is not like using $1000 to be chasing $500 returns. This is not Bankable Risk

Most Nigerians have never trusted Nigeria economy but over the years and till now foreigners come here invest, make their money and go back to their country. All we do is complain about the economy. NSE is still a place you can make money. Let's support our brand.

Yea, Just like Virgin Nigeria came and made loss and go, Truth be told apart from the oil sector, Telecoms, no investor will come to Nigeria with it current state to do business, Please do not tell me Chinese are investors.

You raised an interesting point here, I checked the bank lending rates in some other countries and found them to be much lower, places like us it's bellow 4%. If the exchange rate becomes stable, people abroad with access to these loans can arbitrage. Their are a lot of investments that give 10% and above in Nija. The NSE for one.

I wish I could invest in NSE , But Na, I don't just trust Naija Economy.

Lol.
Na the CBN dey set MPR, which is now high because of its anti-inflation stance.
It's all basically rubbish because at such lousy interest rates, lending is bound to be depressed.
It's the lousy charges the banks stuff into their loans that are truly mind-boggling.

Here in Norway, there was a time my funds was all tied down, I could easily get loan from banks but I decided crowdfunding to get the money, €150,000 , funny enough do you know what the money is for?
To export Stock Fish. I got this funds within 48 hours and made profits of 110k in it, I took 40% and other contributors shared the rest. This is a country that works.

In Nigeria, its not a bad business per se, but inflation at above 12% has eaten up the profit, is what the previous poster was trying to say.
If the funds were borrowed from a bank at current interest rates, it's a loss.

Nigerian Banks with their interest rates are theives.

An active investment that returns 9% in Nigeria is not very profitable.
If you took a bank loan, then you’re at a loss already. Without even thinking about inflation.

I don't talk about Nigeria, beside let me ask you, as a Nigerian, If you invest 1 billion naira and in a year you got 90m, is that a bad business?

You look at profitability on the basis of the compounded annual growth of the profit, consistency of the profit and the profit margin from the business.

Ethiopian Airline is the most profitable in Africa with a profit of about $200 million, not bad for a business of over 70 years operating all over the world..

MTN Nigeria and Zenith bank are 20 years and 30 years old, they operate solely in Nigeria they make far more than that

Dangote cement, UBA, GTB, Airtel Africa, MTN group, Access etc they operate within Africa they all make more than that.

Analysts have already predicted that the current pandemic will affect the profitability of the Airline industry for the next 24 months.

In any business, there will be losers and winners. But in a situation where the losers are more than winners, break even period is long, business is capital intensive and profitablity is cyclical call for cautious optimism, experience, knowledge, patience, prudence and creativity.

Since you are a retired pilot, hopefully one day you will own your own airline and join the few profitable ones in the country and in Africa

First of all I resigned and not retired as I went into private investments. I'm still young if i want to keep flying for the next 30 years.

Secondly, i did not mention Ethiopian Airline, and Airline industry as a whole generates more than $800 billion dollars revenue annually, it's very profitable and majority, if not you won't see people trying to invest in it.

An investment that returns you 9% averagely each year is a good investment, some make far more than that, now check if you invested $1billion and after expenses and tax you still get $90m, is that not good ROI?

The first two are about the biggest in the world. Look at the age of the business and their financials, profit margin etc airline business is not among the top 10 profitable businesses.

You ask name the any profitable airline, you were given names, now you are telling me the first two are the biggest, look Airline business is very profitable, just like any other business, you always have Winners and loosers.
Let me list two again for you, RyanAir and EasyJet.

You are talking to Former 747-400 Pilot, Thank you.

You are right, but igbo girls too like money seriously. they can do anything for money. they have this mentality of them getting married to rich men while them and their family are puppet.

Not Igbo Girls, average low life poverty stricken Nigerian girls thinks the only way to make a man love them is by offering sex, because they actually have nothing much to offer.

When I was in the country last year, imagine pretty ladies messing around because the knew I just came back, and was willing to open up for sex, men I don't have time for rubbish. Told the gate man and my Parent, if anyone looks for me, I'm not around.

Very cool. It's nice to know you're an enthusiast. Thanks for your contribution. The ramjet is a jet engine. Why I made that distinction on jet engine is because the X15 aircraft is faster that the SR-71 but that one uses a "Rocket Engine'. As far as jet engines go, the Blackbird is the fastest.

Yea I know.

if you check my post, you will see where I mentioned that it has been DECOMMISSIONED. And then went further to say a NEWER model will be around by 2023. The purpose of this thread is to highlight the fastest jet engine aircraft on record. But I appreciate that your contribution. If you have more info on this wonderful machine, please do share

Spambot stopped me from posting here, so i can reply now. It's not the Jet Engine that made it the fastest, but The Ramjet. I know everything about that plane like the back of my palm.
