I just had to quit mine. I hated mine so much that every morning I woke up, a new sense of dread fills me. I was on my way to getting depressed. When I quit, I didn't have a back up plan so right now I'm hoping to face my masters. I don't like the fact that my parents still send money to me. They don't complain but still I know not be dependent on them. Its a tough world out there...and even if its just a survival job, its better to stay put if you like it a bit. For me, I'm never going to walk round the streets of Lagos begging people to buy one product that they can do without. If I see a teaching job sef, I'll gladly pick it with joy. |
temmyo:Same here oo... Even if its not a legal job...abeg I need your help. |
I'm so discouraged at this moment. I did my personality test like 3weeks ago and I've been expecting a mail or SMS. But yesterday I saw a missed call notification on my fone, from them. Will I still be called back or sent an email for the next stage or do I put it off my mind? Someone said that once they cal and you are not available, dts all. Is this true? Please I need info on this, cos I've been hoping to get this job so badly..but its better I know my fate so I don't just keep chasing shadows. |

I have a degree in law and Ive been called to the bar but the short time I have appeared in court or serve as an assistant legal secretary have been the most depressing days of my life. However, the times I taught in two secondary schools both during my service year and after service were the best periods of my life. I just enjoyed being with those teenagers... How do I go from here.. I can't apply to schools because I lack a degree in education. |

Seeing this reminds me of my own depressed days years back. I graduated with a law degree in 2010 and got into the law school that same year... I hated law from the time I was in 300 level but pushed on till i was called to the bar.. i practiced for just two weeks before I ran away... Im very emotional and love people dearly and so seeing a poor wretched woman in the witness box being tackled by the opposing counsel moved me... Everyone thinks I'm crazy because I love to teach...But i didnt care..Ive taught in 3 secondary schools and they were the best periods of my life.. Relating with my kids gives me joy. I love them deeply. Now Im in lagos and cant get a job because I dont have the required teaching qualification...Ive decided to do Post graduate diploma in Education and to take a masters course therein... Everyday i wished I had changed to education, maybe by now I would have completed my masters... You still have the time to change...but first of all sit down and discover the areas where you have passion.. ask God to direct you on the real purpose for your existence.. and then follow it... You still have 4 more yrs(law sch inclusive) ahead in ur law pursuit.. The earlier you change, the better...unless if you want to bear the boredom just for the name... cos I tell you, for those who dont have the passion for it, it can be damn depressing. |

Something great happened to me in Jan 29, 2010. Every year, i remember this date... I was on campus( UNIBEN) when i heard that bro Gbile Akanni was coming.. i had never seen him and had only come in contact with one of his books (Pattern for Christian service) ). The book had ruffled my silent n undisturbed thoughts and i needed to get answers to my questions.. So i made up my mind to go even though i was writing my finl papers. By the third meeting, i had found myself in front of the hall weeping profusely and confessing my sins. That was the beginning of a new era of grace in my life. I can never forget that meeting...and the encounter i had with calvary. Happy birthday to me. |
