PoliticsRe: How Wale Edun Lost Out To The Chagourys And Finally Bit The Dust by StrngT(f): 3:17pm On Apr 22
Babangidapikin:
A video of Muhammad Ali Pate, coordinating minister of health and social welfare, went viral in February when he told the house committee on healthcare services that his ministry got only N36 million out of the N218 billion appropriated for the 2025 capital projects. This is really bad especially for a ministry that keeps people alive. Although some people might argue that the Lagos Calabar Road is an Elephant 🐘 project, rather I see it as a project with future returns. Most people want to live by the Sea Side, although it is not a convenient project but it's okay. I think Government needs to recalibrate revenue opportunities. Block leakages, encourage the creation of more revenue generating industry especially among the GenZ's and ensure power is available and affordable. The Finance Minister did the right thing to advise Mr President, but most entrepreneurs we know prefer to focus on the goals and opportunities out there to maximise, and you agree with me that Mr President wants to run a Govepreneur .
Let's put sentiments apart, there's nothing wrong with coming up with revenue generating projects. But like you said such project should be approved based on probability level of generating higher national revenue.

Whether Lagos - Calabar road project falls into the priority list I think should be the decision of the Minister of Finance and his team. His position commands professionalism and his recommendation I'm sure are backed by data. As such no officer in the executive including the president ought to shut his proposals down without a reasonable justifications otherwise it will appear like they are teaching him his job.

The fall out that happened between him and the president most likely because he refused to fund the white elephant projects presented by the president's confidant.

To me that's nepotism and corruption demonstrated in broad day light by the president.

With this story, I now understand the reasons behind Wale Eduns constant representation as incompetent by the media.

He didn't dance to their tunes and they showed him the way out...

Thank God he has been unveiled. I want this dude come under much more pain they subjected that boy to...I was watching that video and as a grown up man I was crying. It spoilt my day entirely.

Definitely the rogue got the illegal AK 47 through that soldier flanked with him in the picture.

This is what happens when repentant Bokoharam members are recruited to the Army.
RomanceRe: Romance Dieing Out by StrngT(f):
You have said it all; women don't know what they want because even when a man asks a woman , she doesn't know, but weirdly expects the man to know.

If a person craving for something doesn't know what he or she wants, how do you expect others who don't live inside of them to know on their behalf?

Men are not psychic. Once your drama is too much for me, as a man, I simply watch my hands and relegate you to a Bleep buddy. No time to check time on grown up that can't specifically state what she wants. Enough of all these emotional blackmail of men. Enough

Honestly, men are gradually becoming endangered species in today's world. And we need spread the awareness for all men to stop being emotionally attached to any woman because it's a dangerous stake for men.

A venture capitalist will not invest into a company that shows no consistency and measurable commitment towards defined set of goals.

A man should also never commit to any woman unless that woman has gone extra miles to offer consistent commitment over a reasonable period of time.

Most women leverage on zero contribution they offer in a relationship as they have nothing to lose to misbehave and mess innocent hearts of the men.

A lot of men are good people and would do whatever for their women but when this zero contribution gap creeps into a relationship, the end from the beginning is defined.

I have personal story I can share regarding this topic. A woman leaves you on the excuse of you not offering her the love and care she expects.

When she gets into the new relationship you would think her search for care and love would end, 99% of time she will still want a part of the man in the old relationship.

So, the problem here is not lack of care and love, it's greediness and sheer irresponsibility.

RomanceRe: Reasons Why Several Guys Do Not Want To Marry Single Mums by StrngT(f): 2:57am On Mar 22

I so much like all of the comments I read so far and God Bless Brotherhood.. if this thread/topic can spread to reach everywhere it will be so good maybe this will serve as caution to most of our ladies that 97% of men do not want to have anything to do with single mother ( exclude Widow and the cause for her being a widow needs to be studied) . I so much want one woman to have me all of my children and not have additional kid or children from another father.. those ladies that are single mothers are not ready to stay with a man , they sees themselves better off the man they want to marry or stay with it , they want to be free and not controlled, they switch Sides , them feminist, bad parenting and bad influence.. you will see many of this single mother teaching their mates to leave, if the man is not this , he's not that forgetting we're coming together to form a team and accept our shortcomings and amend things but No .. they think life will be always smooth and man must always ready to provide .. when you asked them why you left your baby father , answers will be , he's not responsible, he's not doing this , he's not doing that .. I can never marry a single mother Never will I do that because she will not stay .. the one that have me my only daughter was not a single mother but her brain is wired to be a single mother , she preferred to be at her parent house ( as I even rush to build my personal house , when I found she's pregnant.. I can't even say this is what I did wrong but she wanted to be free and not be under anybody's controll, monetarily, I tried ( 30k-25k every 10days ) but she chooses her parent house and her mum is in support . Her dad could not say a word against her action because her mom is the boss at their house .I just had to pause and keep observing afar off .. I don't chase her , no any form of domestic violence from me to her, nothing, so pathetic, men.. Single mothers are the author of what happened to them and i will never date or marry any.. i typed epistle , that's because I'm pained
Better find another lady so she doesn't give you depression. When she realises you no longer care, her brain will reset. I always tell men to work on building themselves. You will attract women - quality ones. Don't settle for less in life.

I really like to read how Sowore proofed such a heavy allegation at the court. Was it actually true Egbetokun was an illegal IGP?

CareerThe Hard Truth About Lawyer Pay In Lagos: Is The System Broken? by StrngT(op): 4:45am On Jan 22
I want to share a simple perspective on what many young lawyers are silently dealing with in Lagos.

A lawyer earning ₦140,000 monthly and working in places like Ikeja while living around Ogudu will likely spend a good part of that salary before the month ends even take loan.

Transport alone can take about ₦45,000, especially for those who go to the office three days a week. Feeding at work and at home can easily take another ₦60,000–₦70,000.

When you put these together, more than ₦110,000 is already gone from a ₦140,000 salary, and this is before considering things like clothes, laundry, data, health needs, or unexpected issues.

In simple terms, what is left at the end of the month is usually around ₦20,000–₦25,000, and even that can disappear once something unplanned comes up.

Professional dressing is another pressure. A decent suit today costs around ₦200,000. For someone saving about ₦20k monthly, that means many months of saving just for one suit, assuming nothing else demands attention.

Yet, it is common knowledge that some law firms still pay between ₦80,000–₦100,000 monthly. At that level, basic expenses alone exceed the salary income, which means the lawyer is either depending on family support or cutting back on essentials.

This situation raises a simple question: how sustainable is this for the profession?

I also understand that many firms are under pressure from clients who delay payment or bargain legal fees down. At the same time, there are many young lawyers seeking experience, which makes it easier for firms to offer lower pay.

But we can't write off that when trained professionals consistently struggle to meet basic living needs, it affects morale, long-term commitment, and the overall quality of legal service.

This is not a discussion about anything else than to ask a sincere question whether current pay levels of Lagos lawyer realistically match the cost of living in Lagos.

I believe this is a conversation the profession needs to keep having, so that law practice can remain a respected career.

For lawyers in Lagos who were able to come out of this situation like a boss , what did you do differently? Because this is no longer funny at all.
