Hi There,

Thank you for being one of the very first students to join StudCo.

StudCo started with one simple belief: a student's success shouldn't depend on whether a lecturer shows up. As an early user, you're helping us build that future, and we're grateful you took a chance on us.
Here's what's waiting for you on StudCo:
📊 Track: see your CGPA and test scores all semester, not only when results come out.
📚 Learn: find past questions, lecture slides and summary notes shared by coursemates, organised by course.
🤖 AI Coach: ask about any topic in your course and get answers from real past questions and notes, with the source file shown.
💬 Share & Connect: join study groups and communities for your course, school and interests.
🛒 Commerce: buy and sell textbooks, calculators and more within a verified student community.
💙 Give Back: support a coursemate in need in a few taps.
The more students from your course and school join and share, the richer your library and study groups become. That's where we need your help.

🎁 The StudCo Referral Challenge: _*26/09/2026 – 10/09/2026*_

🤝 Bring active referrals (1 extra entry each). A referral counts as active when they complete their profile, add their grades or ask the AI Coach a question.

3. Bonus prize: show us the AI Coach 🎥
Post a short video, screenshot or post on TikTok, Instagram, X or WhatsApp status showing how you use the AI Coach. Tag @studcong and use #StudCong. The 5 best posts win *20,000* each, and we may share them on our pages. Please make sure no one else's personal details are visible.

Winners will be announced

💡 Tip: The fastest way to hit 20 is your departmental WhatsApp group. Try something like:
"I'm using StudCo to track my CGPA and find past questions for our courses. Join with my link and let's build our course library together: [YOUR LINK]"

Questions? DM

Thank you again for being part of StudCo from the start. We can't wait to see how far we go together.

Good day great Nigerian Students 👋

I hope you're all keeping well. Let me start with a small story, and please be honest with yourself as you read it.

A friend of mine (let's call him Tunde) went into his final year thinking he was comfortably on a 2:1. In his head, he had "done well" in most courses. The few bad grades? "It's just one or two carryovers, no wahala."

Then final results came out.

2:2.

He missed the 2:1 line by a few points. When he sat down to calculate it himself, he realised the damage had been done back in 200 and 300 level. He simply never tracked it. If he had known earlier, he would have known exactly how much he needed to push in his final semesters.

That story is more common than we think. Many students in Nigerian universities and polytechnics:

➡️ Don't know their current CGPA off-hand
➡️ Calculate it once in a while with pen and paper (and get it wrong 😅)
➡️ Wait for the school portal, which may or may not be working
➡️ Have no idea what grades they need to hit their target class of degree

Quick refresher: how CGPA works (5-point scale)

A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1, F = 0

You multiply each grade point by the course unit, add them all up, then divide by the total units.

Example:

MTH 101 (3 units), A → 3 × 5 = 15
PHY 101 (2 units), B → 2 × 4 = 8
CHM 101 (3 units), C → 3 × 3 = 9
GST 101 (1 unit), A → 1 × 5 = 5

Total points = 37
Total units = 9
GPA = 37 ÷ 9 = 4.11

Simple for one semester. But by the time you have 8 or 10 semesters, carryovers, electives and resits, it gets messy fast. That is where most people give up.

Enter StudCo 🎓

I came across StudCo (https://studco.tech), a platform built for students, and I think a lot of people here will find it useful.

Here are the two features that stood out for me:

📊 1. CGPA Tracking
You enter your courses and grades each semester, and StudCo keeps your CGPA updated automatically. You can see where you stand at any time, without calculators or waiting for the portal. Most importantly, it helps you plan toward the class of degree you're aiming for. If you're on 3.3 and want to graduate with a 2:1, you'll know what you need to do.

🤖 2. AI Coach (this one is a game changer)
You know those times you're reading handouts at 2am and nothing is entering? 😩

With the AI Coach, you can scan your notes, handouts, textbooks or past questions and interact with them in real time. You can ask it to:

Explain a confusing topic in simpler terms
Summarise a long chapter
Quiz you on what you just read
Break down how to answer a past question

It's like having a study partner who never gets tired or says "abeg I wan sleep."

Who is this for?
✔️ University, polytechnic and college of education students
✔️ Final year students who want to know exactly where they stand
✔️ Freshers who want to start tracking from day one (best time to start!)
✔️ Parents and older siblings who want to support a student in the family

How to sign up
It's free and takes about a minute:

Over to you, Students 👇

I'm curious:

Do you know your current CGPA right now, without checking?
What's the biggest thing that affected your grades in school: carryovers, bad lecturers, poor study habits, or something else?
If you've graduated, what advice would you give to students still in school about protecting their CGPA?

Let's discuss. And if you know any student who needs this, please tag or share with them. It might just be the difference between a 2:2 and a 2:1 for someone. 🙏
