My submission is that ability trumps experience everytime and we have young and capable defenders who are ready to take the mantle and that does not mean Ajayi should be discarded

Ajayi was decent and his goal against Tanzania (in the group stage) was earned him the motm accepted, but you forgot he was poor in the final against Morocco and you cannot compare his performances to Osayi Samuel through the tournament especially against Algeria in the quarterfinal or Bruno, I'm sure we would have had a better chance against Morocco with a better ball player in Frederick instead of him

Midfield of Iwobi,Ndidi and Onyeka is good enough to achieve something in Africa, they don't necessarily have to be more creative than Mikel,
But as Meliforme claimed that Iwobi is more creative and better passer than Mikel, so I wondered why they couldn't achieve what Mikel and his co midfielders achieved.
Because player for player,the players playing alongside Iwobi is equally as good as those who played with Mikel .

Ndidi and Onyeka is as strong as Onazi, even if Onazi is better,is not by large margin.

In other departments,it's only in goalkeeping department in Enyeama that is far better than the present Eagles.
Lookman is on the same level with Victor Moses,
Osimhen’s led attack is even better than Emenike and Ighalo led attacks,
Bassey's led defense is solid.

May be the present Super Eagles should check their attitudes,their zeal and commitments.
And put more effort if they are to win something tangible

Winning is combination of coaching, preparation and talent, How many good coaches have we had of recent, how has NFF done with the preparation, friendly, bonuses etc. You think you can just wake up one day and go and win trophies because you have the best talent, that we haven't won anything is not an indictment on any individual player at all but on the collective structure.

And since he retired,we have truly struggled in that department for a period of time

Midfield is made up of 3-4 players and our current problem is lack of depth and aging midfielders, still doesn't say anything about Iwobi vs Mikel's creativity
