Meliforme: A good press will do a lot.
It will make sure the ball doesn't get to those players you mentioned. They will have to drop deeper to get the ball and that is good damage control What Guardiola wants is for you to press him btw to pick you apart, Galatasaray came with a game plan and executed it well. |

Meliforme: They had respect for Man City and did not press high up the pitch. They were a tad conservative
Did you watch Galatasaray against Ajax and Bodo/Glimt, especially against Bodo/Glimt. They were all about intensity and adrenaline. Very few teams can match up. The game against Man City in the second half, came to a point where Man City iwanted to tone down the game's pace.
Galatasaray should take advantage of their team's intensity and stamina. They should have pressed against an attack of Haaland, Doku and Cherki so that they'll be walloped 5:0 and miss the playoffs, they played the reasonable way a team of Galatasaray's stature would play against Man city keeping in mind that a respectable loss still takes them to the playoffs, Man city took their foot off the pedal in the second half but still created 2 clear chances that would have been goals if not for poor finishing |

Meliforme: Galatasaray gave Man City the respect that was uncalled for.
A team that has illkay Gundogan and Gabriel Sara which are finer midfielders in my reckoning when compared to Man City's Benardo Silva and Nico O'Reilly, shouldn't have held back in the manner they did against Man City in the first half. Man City's wingers were the real magicians that did the work.
Galatasaray players have the stamina that can unsettle any team and yet in the first half of the game they appeared a bit held back, not pressing as required, they shouldn't have allowed Man City the psychological edge.
Galatasaray really came out to play in the second half, and Man City became blunt. They didn't hold back they were outplayed, remember that Man city were playing with Doku, Haaland and Cherki in attack, they tried the best they can |

mrwilliams9: That is poor on our part. We should be approaching them at 18,19,20 and inviting them to our youth and Olympic set-up. That way they get to know the African game and build a bond with other players. Approaching them at the age they just finished youth football for their resident countries and dreaming of representing them in the senior team, if you no go find your youth teams |

They hate each other but they are worse than each other, infact Morocco is the least racist of the North African nations, imagine these shenanigans happening in Egypt we would have been talking of real violence by now |

Think there is a sense in which Raphael Onyedika is getting the short end of the stick for last night.
While he had a very poor match, able to neither impose himself nor get to grips with the intensity of the match, and was rightly pulled, it is important to acknowledge that, up until the semi-final, the Super Eagles had not faced a side as defensively and/or tactically astute as the Moroccans.
Would Ndidi have made a difference? Certainly. Being more tenacious in the tackle and boasting greater anticipation, he would no doubt have fared better and helped Nigeria compete more fiercely. But nothing he faced in the competition was remotely close to the standard the Moroccans brought. So it is not really comparing apples with apples. The same Ndidi was present while our midfield was overrun against DR Congo two months ago. Not his fault personally at all, but the point is that these things are not straightforward to analyse.
Different players have different skill sets. Onyedika is what he is; if, as a coach, you put him into the team in place of a different profile of player, you owe it to him and the team to tweak something else in order to allow him play. Last night, the Super Eagles needed to be even more patient than usual, knowing they were lacking something out of possession. Instead, the opposite was the case.

This match has also elevated Ndidi to conversations he didn’t belong to, if he had played he would have looked ordinary like his teammates or even worse |

This is indefensible. We pressed them with Osimhen, Lookman and Akor what game were you watching? |

Chukwueze have silver and bronze already if you're not getting game time why sabotage the team why not tell the coach you don't want to play, this is wickedness am just hurt. elyte89: Make dem investigate chukwueze, something Dey sup ..dt penalty was too casual ;more like a protest penalty This thing you guys are doing is not right, penalty is a game of chance it's not a must to score |
