Kog45: Yes he is...I thought he would be better replacement for Okoye who was on AWOL for national team then, this made me to have interest in Okonkwo, watching him several times, sir he is not better than Uzoho ,my only hope on him he is still young cuz Okoye proved that with his performance with Udinese....I just hope Okonkwo comes better with time just Okoye Hmm atleast he's young, let's hope he improves |

Kog45: I followed Chuckwuezugo Okonkwo as a fan judiciously and happy when he moved on loan to Crewe Alexandria from Arsenal, later to Stum Graz and don't know why the moved was not permanent cuz he did well.... very ambitious Wrexham came in and signed him, made him first choice, and was instrumental to their promotion to championship but at the very later part of this season he lost form when he was needed most, conceded some school boy error goals and it cost Wrexham some viral points cuz Hull City shouldn't have made it ahead of Wrexham. OH I've always heard he was error prone |

DeloitteNG: Club doctors have developed a protective suit for Osimhen's right arm. Made of carbon fiber, the suit is five times stronger than steel but as light as a feather. This will prevent Osimhen from being affected by blows to his arm. The suit will comply with FIFA and league rules. FIFA does not allow the use of devices that could injure opponents or players. Osimhen, who became a phenomenon with his iconic face mask, will transform into a true superhero with the suit on his arm. Coach Okan Buruk plans to field the star player in the starting eleven for the derby against Fenerbahçe, even if not for the Gençlerbirliği match. They should develop a protective suit for his whole body |

TheSuperNerd: Hi Great Thread of Nigerian Football, it is indeed a good day to be alive and be excited for what 2026 still promises.
Today is My Birthday and I want to remind everyone out there not to give up on whatever their dreams, aims, aspirations, project pursuits, goals, etc are. Victor Osimhen did not and look at him today and his story is still not done. John Mikel Obi did not and now he is a bonafide Nigerian legend. Rashidi "Rasheed" Yekini did not and he remains the one of the pinnacles among African Strikers today.
Lastly, on a flip note, Elyte89 is still not giving up on his Super Eagles job dream despite we all knowing how impossible it is and he is also not giving up on Nigeria heading to USCAMEX 2026 World Cup, so honestly what excuse you get?
Cheers to me and Cheers to us all.... God Bless You. Happy birthday |

Meliforme: How did you know that i got my info from Sofascore? The truth is that you are the one who seems to be quoting sofascore. Stop accusing me
You claimed you saw the match, and yet couldn't easily see that Mancity clearly maintained a 4-1-4-1 shape. My last words to you on this matter is that you need to have your eyes washed with pure water
The image below is a screenshot of Manchester City vs Galatasaray lineup taken at UEFA.com Every info posted on that site is throughly checked by top football analysts employed at UEFA, and they can't be wrong especially on issues like this. Lol this clearly shows you are arguing for the sake of argument not for the sake of arriving at the truth and you clearly didn't watch the match but you are desperately using broadcast lineups and sofascore lineups published before the match to make your points for you. This is my last words for you (unlike you I keep to them) I watched the match and Pep didn't use either Bernardo or O'Reilly as a lone dm in a must win game against Galatasaray (he would be crazy to do so) Not every match that you have to watch but claiming you knew what went on in the match using predictive sites is funny, formation actually changed in the second half with the introduction of Foden but your sofascore and Uefa sites didn't tell you about it, did it Note: The lineup you got from Uefa despite it being wrong formation wise it was also wrong positionally, Doku played through the center while Marmoush played off the right |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzero0477: 9:15pm On Feb 01 |
Meliforme: You are the one using Sofascore as your main source (it seems like you have visited there to bolster your misinformation). I only visit these stat sites (many of them) to get different perspectives in order to make a more informed conclusion.
A live broadcast from Etihad revealed a 4-1-4-1. The shape maintained by the players as they moved across the pitch revealed a 4-1-4-1.
You said that i am quoting the TV lineup. If you cannot believe what you saw on the TV, maybe you should believe the one in your dream, or the one in your fantasy. This does not even make sense, I told you that I watched every minute of the match (and 90% of city's matches this season) and this is your argument, it's better to concede that you were deceived by Sofascore or live broadcast (whatever that means) than arguing that you watched the match and saw O'Reilly or Bernardo Silva as a lone dm And these broadcast companies actually set these line ups based on what they think managers would play which may not always be the case |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzero0477: 8:28pm On Feb 01 |
Meliforme: Which sofascore (Just laughing at you). The image is a screenshot i made as the players lined up.
You keep using the adverb actually like you have made your proof beyond reasonable doubt. Like I said you get your stats from Sofascore and tv lineups, I'm a city fan and I watched every minute of the game, so you actually don't know what you are talking about |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzero0477: 5:17pm On Feb 01 |
Meliforme: I wanted to abandon this discussion when you included the adverb "actually", indicating your assuredness, but at a second thought, i changed my mind.
ManCity deployed 4-1-4-1. Man city played 4-2-3-1, I know you got your stats from Sofascore but that's how they actually lined up in the match |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzero0477: 2:06pm On Jan 31 |
Meliforme: Guardiola was afraid of a high press, believe me.
Guardiola adopted a 4-1-4-1, similar to the Moroccan 4-1-4-1 in order to curb Galatasaray's intensity and high press. Guardiola anticipated it, Galatasaray should have gone ahead with their style of play, they have the players to execute it. They shouldn't have held back.
The second half of the game told everything. Guardiola actually played a 4-2-3-1 with O'Reilly and Bernardo Silva at the base of midfield, a high press meant leaving AbdulKarim against Haaland in a one on one situation which led to the first goal, Gala were then more compact to block central areas in the second half but were still carved open by dribbling of Reindjeirs and Ait Nouri for clear chances which were missed |
