We're winning the war

As the fight against terrorism intensifies, the Nigerian Army has continued its clearing of Boko Haram's camp and dislodging them. In one of their recent operations yesterday, the troop of 7 Division Garrison, 112 Battalion and Army Headquarters Strike Group, killed many Boko Haram members and recovered their weapons while clearing the sect members camp in Kotokuma, Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno state.

A statement by the Acting spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Col. Sani Usman, states that the terrorists camp was equipped with medical facility, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) factory, fuel dump, mechanical workshop, generators and several water points. The troops also destroyed 3 vehicles laden with IEDs meant for suicide bombings somewhere and killed 37 Boko Haram terrorists.

The troops also recovered 12 vehicles, 27 motorcycles, 9 AK-47 rifles, 2 Fabrique Nationale rifles, fabricated rocket bomb and a Sniper rifle. Other items recovered include 4 Dane Guns, solar panels and other household items. In addition to that, they also rescued 20 persons held hostage by the terrorists.

Unfortunately, 2 of our soldiers sustained gun shot wounds. The wounded soldiers have been evacuated to 7 Division Hospital where they are receiving medical care.

Despite the extremely poverty and high inflation rate in one of the poorest countries in the world, the Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe, after playing deaf ears to criticism, still went ahead to celebrate a his 92nd birthday celebration, lavish a whooping sum of $1m.

A cake of 92kg symbolizes his 92nd birthday, as he hosted the extravagant televised celebrations on Saturday, drawing criticism from opponents who said the festivities were an affront to ordinary Zimbabweans.


Thousands of party loyalists, foreign representatives and members of the public watched as Mugabe released 92 balloons in the air and they listened to poetry readings, songs and chants hailing him an African icon and a visionary.

A lot of people believe that people who come from the Yoruba genre of Nollywood belong to a certain cadre of life, a lower one at that. When I got into the industry, a lot of producers gave me bad girl roles; gangster and the likes. I was crying to do something totally different. That was the reason I played a different role in Unforgiveable. People should also know that we are not what we play in movies. I am not razz and I’m not a thug or area girl.

Which movie gave you prominence?

That was the first I produced, Ajegbodo. It was an all-female cast movie. It was about lesbianism.

Was that how the rumor that you are a lesbian started?

Don’t mind them. How can I be a lesbian and write a story to preach against it? They said I’m a lesbian while another blogger said I’m a serial lover. Which one should we believe?

Have you ever been approached by a lesbian?

Yes. It was after the movie came out. When they made their passes, I made them understand that I’m not into lesbianism. Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa lesbians made passes at me. They usually started by being friendly. You will get the message when they do odd things, and would come out clearly when they know you are suspicious or aware.

But what’s the big deal about giving in to one of those ladies. It won’t kill you, will it?

I’m not interested. I’m so-so straight. I’m very finicky, I can’t do that.

Is it a big deal if a girl fondles your boobs?

It’s a big deal. It’s not safe. It’s demonic. How can a girl be handling my boobs? No way. They are for the opposite sex.

Has anybody ever broken your heart?

I’ve never been heart-broken, but I always find myself breaking hearts.

What do you look out for in a guy?

A guy that can be real, I don’t want someone who says he is what he is not.

When I realized he wasn’t real, and not what he said he was. In my mind, I moved on even without telling him. I moved on in my mind before telling the person I’m dating. If I make up my mind, that’s it.

Nollywood actress and former national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima-Egbuka has been charged to the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court in a suit instituted against her and others by former beauty queen, Miss Earth Nigeria 2011/2012, Miss Munachi Chinenye Uzoma.

Miss Munachi Chinenye Uzoma had dragged the Nollywood actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima and former President Actors Guild of Nigeria and AMC Productions Ltd, to Court for cheating and breach of contract signed October 28, 2011.

The case which has its hearing today, Friday, February 5, in Port Harcourt was presented to the court by the beauty queen when she discovered that Ibinabo Fiberesima and AMC Productions LTD breached a contract they signed with her in 2011.

Ibinabo Fieberesima’s case was filed on August 29, 2012, by the L.O Ndatigh chambers, has its defendant as O.C Higher King Esq. and petitioner’s counsel as Linus O. Ndatigh.



The Defendants are represented by O.C Higher King Esq. This case was filed on August 29, 2012 through The Chambers of L.O. Ndatigh by Linus O. Ndatigh as the claimant counsel. The case has been ongoing since 2012 till date.

On Thursday, January 28, 2016, the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has reserved judgment in the appeal filed by Nollywood actress Ibinabo Fiberesima challenging the judgment of a Lagos High Court which sentenced her to five years imprisonment for the death of one Dr Giwa Suraj.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command had in 2005 charged the ex-beauty queen to the magistrate court on a two-count charge of dangerous and reckless driving along Epe Expressway, Lagos which resulted to the death of Dr Suraj.

Nollywood veterans Mofe-Damijo, Zark Orji and Victor Olaotun are featuring in a latest hilarious blockbuster entitled, “The Three Wise men,’’ produced by Opa Williams, ace filmmaker and comedy entrepreneur.

A statement by Williams obtained by News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja said the movie which would be released soon is the latest in a series of movies funded by Bank of Industry (BOI) under its one billion naira loan scheme.

Williams said the movie is a dramatic comedy that humorously presents the follies of three aged men in their mid/late 60’s who struggle to re-live their lost youth.

Williams who gave the synopsis of the film said, “After many years of service in different government parastatal agencies the three aged men are retired and they all settled in a suburb to enjoy their retirement benefits.

“How they decide to spend this retirement money remains highly humorous and dramatic.”

The film directed by Patience Oghre Imobhio and currently being shot in Parafa, Ikorodu, an outskirt of Lagos, also stars actresses Tina Mba and Ebele Okaro.

Mofe-Damijo popurlarly known as RMD started acting in the late 80’s and is known for films like; `Checkmate,’ `Violation’ `Hostages,’ `30 Days in Atlanta,’ Oloibiri, and `the Mayors’.

Victor Olaotan, who started acting at age 15 years became more popular in 2013 after his leading role in a Nigerian Soap opera, Tinsel.
He is also known for movies like `Remember Me,’ `Red card,’ `Finding Love.’

Zack Orji, who is also a film director, producer started his film career far back as 1991.

He has starred in popular movies in “Unforgiven sin’ , `Last Warning,’ `Angels for Ever’, `Half of a Yellow Sun,’ and `Games Women Play.
