Politics / Re: Is Somalia Now A Paradise Compared To Nigeria? by sunboy(m): 2:18am On Feb 16
Somalia greatly benefited from the Japa wave seeking asylum is different countries. They still love their homeland, and their first gen born outside the country are not going back home to invest heavily especially in hospitality and real estate. There’s a documentary on YouTube about this movement.

A typical Nigerian will swore never to to back home and curse their country when others still uphold their homeland love.

UK bawo, please avoid that country at all cost.

I agree! But no theory works for the Nigerian economy.

Even if it works in all the countries of the world. We the people are looking for ways to sabotage the system and there’s zero consequences for those doing it simply cos they are above the law, and arresting them could burn the country.

They need to put Prof Soludo and Sanusi on payroll as consultants.

No

Sweet Potato fed China into a superpower

Sweet Potato can feed Nigeria

Let us start planting Sweet potatoes massively

It can make Flour ,Garri,Fufu, noodles etc

And products like glue ropes,Sugar,dye,

Why go learn new things when we already have our tested and tried low cost crops here … cassava, corn are cheap and fast growing crops and can be used to make many things.

Israel still dey give this people hot hot. Why can't Allah deliver Gaza out of the hands of IDF?

This is kinda dumb. Yahweh didn’t deliver IDF, it’s the free American tax payers money and weapons at work. The women and children in Gaza are not the ones throwing rockets.

Hama is a terror group, yes! Hunt them! Not the ordinary Gazans.

Israelis are very many all over northern Nigeria because generally Sunnis have little issue mostly historical against Jews and most Nigeria Muslims are Sunnis. Nigerian Muslims and Jews have no issue .
And FYI the war in Palestine is between Israel and Hamas and not Islam and Jews .....don't be surprised there are more Muslims in IDF than Christians even in the on going campaign

These baby analyst won’t learn now, they will still argue with you.

Islam and Jew are not at war. Infact, if there will be a religious war it would be Jew and Christianity. But this is a Hamas vs IDF war.

Main problem many people have with the war is the indiscriminate use of unguided missiles in population densed places and seem to everyone that it’s a genocide against the Palestinian people than it is for Hamas terror members.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Cannot Feed Herself. Spent $15 Billion Importing Food in 2019 by sunboy(m): 4:02pm On Feb 07
aribisala0:

My take is we need to learn from others so our agriculture is competitive.
Nigeria e.g is the highest producer of cassava in the world but our average yield per hectare of land is 11 tonnes compare to Thailand which is 20-25 tonnes.
There are similar figures across board and this can be attributed to several reasons but I will like to focus on CAPITAL/SCALE.
We need to understand that you need capital to achieve economies of scale. There are too many small players and we need consolidation so that we have cooperatives or companies

Take cassava specifically yield can be increased simply by ploughing the soil to make it less compact so that when the cassava grows it is not hindered by compact soil.
Mechanized ploughs are imported and costly and not cost effective for small farmers
Other issues are irrigation, fertiliser, were and pest control not to mention herdsmen.

To make serious money from cassava there is need for serious players with deep pockets that can put down tens of millions of dollars. Under the current herdsmen crisis that is a challenge
But we need to think.about yield which means capital and requires security

Did you know that countries with high yield per hectare are mostly the enablement of the government ? The deep pockets, the venture capitals heavily investing in farms are only cos the government guarantees steady sales.

For example, Cheese, corn, meats are example of foods on guarantee sales list in the US. Many countries practice this exact thing. It’s just a guarantee that, if you’re unable to sell the produce, we guarantee to buy the excess at xx amount per kilo or whatever.

We managed to push cassava and yam production high even when there’s extremely low yield. Have you imagined what happens if we get out yield level higher?

It’s more painful that we have everything we need in this country. Everything!
Politics / Re: Nigeria Cannot Feed Herself. Spent $15 Billion Importing Food in 2019 by sunboy(m): 3:32pm On Feb 07
The government must involve the youth in agriculture.

And they must incentivize agriculture for youths to be attracted to it!

Give free land, provide tractors for rent or support financing option for them to acquire one, guarantee sales of their produce and watch how youths will flock the farming sector and crash the price of food.

This worked everywhere in the world! You must support agriculture and incentivize it! This is not rocket science. We will become a major exporter of produce in no time.

Cost of living in high in many western countries, but they incentivize agriculture, food is always dirty cheap. Also, no tax on any food stuff.

Puerto Rico is part of US and did not adopt USD as its currency. It spends US dollar as being part of the US. And Biden is their president.

They killed everything in Gaza, except hamas

Yes, I agree! They disabled and destroyed everything but Hamas.

Is that the same Trump that wished for the economy to crash? So he could use that against Biden and blame him

Not the same Trump that’s lobbying against Republican congress men to not support Biden efforts on the border crisis, so he could be the one to do it if he wins

If he wasn’t a former president, he should be picked up to be questioned about his intel. He’s been wishing to much evil on America lately, so much for a former leader.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Iran Rejects US Offers. by sunboy(m): 1:23pm On Jan 31
The US military broke and weak ? The dumbest post I’ve read this year lmao 🤣

Here’s the thing, it’s election year America does not want any senseless and direct war right now. That’s not about being broke.

A war with Iran directly means the whole ME will be on fire, why deliberately do that when there’s no internationally accepted reason to?

Lastly, when Trump killed Suleimani, the Iranians hit several US bases directly with cruise misiles, Trump decided to look the other way and not further escalate things just to avoid an unnecessary war.

The world is currently in bigger economic woes from COVID, we don’t need another war now that will disrupt the supply chain again.

There will be a response from Biden that I’m certain of, and the response will be strong in other for it to restore the American deterrence, also to boost his chances in the November election.

Never you call the US of A military broke again 😂😂😂

You can state all the reservations you have about Iran and their proxy activity in the Middle East, but to accomplish such large feats in technology while under sanctions is bloody impressive.

African countries have all the resources in the world and cannot even accomplish a tenth of such.

This is what I am thinking right now.

We Africans are not under sanctions yet Cuba has a free and better healthcare than us most African country, so much that it’s major export and source of forex is their doctors practicing abroad.

Iran has manage to keep growing their military and civilian tech, even their nuclear tech… despite being under sanctions, yet most African countries with all the natural and Human Resources it ever needed still can’t maintain stable electricity 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

The last time Egypt fought Isreal, Isreal finished Egypt in 6 days. Back then Isreal was new, young and inexperienced. The Egyptians better behave otherwise Isreal will return their air force to level one again.

Back then Isreal might be new and young but its IDF are not inexperienced. Majority of Israeli citizens are Europeans and Americans, so many already had military trainings.

It’s kinda insulting to Isreal to call them inexperienced. They’ve always has free access to unlimited cash, weapons and trained men.

Tell me where u condemn hamas attacjs on Isreal on Oct 7.

I have never supported the Hamas terror attack on 7th in anyway shape or form. See my comments.

Nor do I support the blockade and bullying that the Israeli forces subjected the people of Gaza and West Bank to over the years

My stand is, Hamas is the armed group, chase and find them not sporadic bombing using unguided weapons on civilian populations.

Us, Russia all fought and still fighting urban war fare, they are not bombing everything in their way, they managed to have minimal casualties.

Women and children are the the ones throwing rockets to Isreal are they

Now tell me when you’ve condemned the Israeli blockade and killings of the Palestinian people for years before Oct 7th
