It occurs to me the speed at which road contracts are awarded in cities by most governors, while the rural areas are neglected yet the cry for financial autonomy by LGA are treated with levity.
This is to point out the business mindset behind our politicians when they get elected into office.... The integration and love of the masses is not in their heart.
Accessibility to rural areas by road cannot be overemphasized. With good roads network to farms, produce will be transported with minimal fare compared to when the roads are bad and the few vehicles conveying goods charges exorbitantly which in turn leads to high cost of food.
If everyone moves into the cities due to availability of infrastructures the farmlands especially will be left for the espionage of criminal heardsmen and it will lead to low production of farm produce and increased in insecurity.
The spate at which our governors fund road projects in cities is a pointer to their insensitivity of the reality of time. The GDP should be on the increase, to achieve this farmers needs to be encouraged with good roads and provided with intensive through agricultural extension programs. These will increase the IGR of the states and reduce unemployment, famine and inflation.

Anyway, at the end of their tenors they will be rated by flyovers, bridges and roads constructed...how did we get here, we need to think outside the box and face the present reality in our economy..... Your roads in cities are not tolled, but farmers and rural dwellers pays tax too....and also contributes to GDP...we can extend these roads construction more to the rural areas.
