Samfilo31:In fact if we are not over hyping the Phone it shouldn't even beg for Nougat 7.0 also. But curse on Gionee, New device, New OS, no upgrade for Old devices. Sales and Profit is the goal not Customer satisfaction and Digital Security. But the way am viewing it, its Gionee Nigeria that should carry this blame, its Just a company that orders Gionee specifications for Nigeria and sell. Thats all. No after sale services, security patches, upgrades. Because Gionee China does all these. |
ace123:U can use MTK engineering mode start to put your phone on 3G only. So what else did u find out abt the Chinese rom? |
Polyphony:My reply to the guy.
|
Guys on the Gionee M5 chinese rom. How far are you enjoying it. I have used the Chinese rom before infact around this time last year. Just cldnt get most out of it. But since someone just mentioned it again and was able to put Google services and remove some system Chinese native apps. Got me interested again. |
chingy012:That is an unprofessional excuse. You know why, Gionee M5 mini doesn't have the battery capacity of M5 and yet it was upgraded to Android 6.0. And just two weeks ago another update was released to fix battery issues. Gionee Nigeria decided to upgrade a low-end device that doesn't 4G, Low Battery capacity, and other features and leave the high end device without update. Bad Customer satisfaction Gionee has. I prefer a Manufacturer that gives me OEM updates and system fixes than the Gionee. |
Samfilo31:Thats not "true". You goto gsm arena compare both products and see the hardware difference and leave out the OS difference. It's similar to you saying if "Nokia 3310" can run andriod 6.0 you won't buy of the lastest tech.................You know who does such ![]() |
honsule:You didn't ask them if/when andriod 6.0 will be available for M5. Am soo hating Gionee now, how can they upgrade M5mini and leave M5 out. Who does that. I hate not receiving Manufacturers support again after buying there products. |
Hawlahscho:You are aswell right bro. But thats only theoretically! But in practice(reality), resistance of a conductor is lesser than 1 (you can use your multi meter to measure it if you doubt) and if resistance is lesser, re-work your ohms law and see for yourself. But here am talking about electrical losses that causes this over-heating on the mobile devices it more calculation than just ohms law. |
Samfilo31:Causes might be 1. Low voltage( low voltage brings about High current and this execessive current flows around appliance looking for escape there by causing over-heating) the voltage supply might not be enough Just like in my area, Power Supply from Nepa ranges from 180-195v against 220v. ( though ur charger rating is 100-220v) but am telling you, a low voltage produces execessive current that is not needed. 2. Climatic condition around us too matters. Its not only you that have skin to know when its hot nd when its cold. Those Phones too does. Infact those in Makurdi Benue State doesn't complain cuz dey are used to it. Every phone is always hot when charging over there. ![]() |
M5 users Attention please. Over-heating can be minimized!. Yes, I mean it. We dont have the knowledge that we over-Load our RAM with "Running Apps", "Background Running Apps". In worst case some apps like Facebook and Google only take much ram and also Over-clock the CPU cause lot Of Heating and draining battery, some of us even leave our game running background and still you are complaining?. Gionee provided a perfect tool that comes with our Phone. Either rooted or Not. This app has the whole System access. Yes am talking about "System Manager -Eco Mode". Some of us dunno how to use it. Turn it ON and add few apps that are needed by you to run 24/7 example Whatsapp. Look at my image below. With those few apps in whitelist, all other apps stop running in the background exactly 2-5min when I close them releasing enough space, there by not causing overheating(except you are in a hot temp location). Remove all other junk apps like Du cleaner n battery saver nd greenify all of those can not work like an inbuilt OEM app. I experience overheating something, yh that is when am playing my favorite game ( Mortal Kombat X). If you know that game, its a badass Graphics game so it needs more to process by the Phone which ll result in heating.

Samfilo31:Screen flickering is cuzd by an application common to all oF us!. Probably Whatsapp(not sure). I factory reset my fone yesterday, and there was no flicker. I have noticed each time I factory reset my fone either on Indian rom or naija rom no screen flicker happens. But I noticed when I loaded some apps, no flicker still But when I loaded a group of app that contains, Telegram, Whatsapp, skype... Yh the Screen flickering started. As I have mentioned before, Screen flickering/blicking is a software bug, its not that your Screen is faulty. Don't go and give your Phone to someone that will spoil it cuz u think your phone has screen issue. |
honsule:What do you expect him to say bro?. Thats not true. Its a bug in the gionee M5 OS. |
So no andriod 6.0 for Gionee M5. I dunno how to curse Gionee somebody eep me. |
Some indian rom has somr system file alterations inside. So u need to find some that has a stable version without glitch to use his or her own. Or search online and download from different location, different from where u downloaded the one u are using. |
Polyphony:Nooo bro. It's the Indian Rom you downloaded. The indian rom you downloaded comes with little corruption. The indian rom i downloaded doesn't have battery problem. The set back it has is that it corrupts memory card. Any sd card new or old. When i slot it into it, it corrupts it nd later spoil n make it uses less. So those indian roms online his having one or two faults inside it. That's why we are seeing different scenarios. |
Sirkorlha:Factory reset, or you if you get twrp backup, restore it. |
kaylechy:Where Lavenderjade dey stay if na PH we fit relate. |
kaylechy:Make sense, wher nd how you get am? |
Sirkorlha:The question is what major thing did you do last on the phone befote you noticed it restarts often. If you can identify that, then you can undo it so your phone can have rest. Alsi If you have memory card in it. Remove it. Nd See if it still restart often. If its rooted. You probably have deleted some system files. |
HyDef:9ja rom? |
please guys update us when you receive ota upgrade to andriod 6.0 on Gionee M5. We all know Gionee M5 mini already got the upgrade. Which is unfair to me. Cuz M5 is the oldest version in the series. |
honsule:Tnx bro have seen it but The TWRP is 1.8gb. I thought you said the size is abt 3.0gb. |
honsule:Tnx I have read the email I will be waiting for a link to come back to Naija rom. |
honsule:Did you change back to indian firmware? thought you said Naija version is Ok. |
lavenderjade:how did you do it. is it naija rom or indian. |
