Dont know how true this is. If true this could be helpful for all of us. I came across this in some facebook group. The link has listed some of the best universities. "Meet more than 50 universities from US from the comfort of your home. Some of the best universities are participating in this Online Fair. Know more about scholarships, course structure, post course opportunities and anything you want to know. Date: 6th-7th October, 4:30 -11 PM Check the list of universities and register for FREE here: https://yocket.in/virtual-fair/student?ref=22 Do share it with anyone who you think might be interested."

Yes. GRE is just one of the factor. And for university like USC, it is very unlikely to get full funding. They get huge number of applications. Maybe for a less popular university it might be possible. In such a case I would suggest that you dont rely on funding, at least prepare with mindset of paying for the first semester. Then you can get RA or TA or even full funding. Look at the research happening at the university. If that is aligned with your research experience it might help. Maybe for the first year you can also try for a loan. SenseiVoyles: |
Fully funded masters is difficult. Let me be honest, the universities are flooded with so many applications and everyone wants funds. Unless you have an exceptional profile, it is extremely difficult. And with university like USC, fully funded is next to impossible. Most of the universities give out scholarships after the first semester. They can provide you in the second sem after seeing your performance in the first semester. SenseiVoyles: |
Yes, papers presented and published will help. But most of the professors prefer to see how the student is before offering funding to him for the PhD. Masters would be easier to get in. But again depends on what you field is. SenseiVoyles: |
This is the first thing you should start working on moving ahead. GRE is the single most important exam that you should nail to kick start the things. On an average people need a preparation of about 45-60 days to crack GRE with flying colors. Now if you are applying for fall intake then September would be an ideal time to give your GRE. You should anyhow get done with it before mid-October. I would suggest that you try this Grad School Finder. You can enter your profile and according to previous years trends you will be able to see the universities where you can get. They will show you schools in Safe, Moderate and Ambitious. Link: https://yocket.in/university-courses/recommend You can also check the previous years admits here. It would help. Danoluwa: |
Hi Rex, I found another link for huge repository of all the admits and rejects: https://yocket.in/profiles/find/matching-admits-and-rejects If others have any more links of such admits and rejects please share here. It will be helpful. 234ng44uk: |
Hi RexCheeng, That's a great initiative. I think there are already a couple of websites which are already providing such information. I think we should all look at global admits and rejects as we are competing on the global level and not just in Nigeria. We should look at competition from all of these students too. We will need to make sure that we take all these factors in. I came across a few of these websites: https://www./msinusfall2017, https://yocket.in/discussions/home, http://www.stupidsid.com/knowledge-hub/ms-in-us/total-expenditure-ms-in-us, edulix.com, taisha.com, gradcafe. Admins please help in adding more links if you know about this. It will help this community to grow and we will be able to more access to education abroad. |
