Please i need some advice, my study visa is yet to be out and registration deadline is 14th February. I submitted my passport with the application.

I've written emails to the Consulate General, other email addresses I saw on their website.

What else should I do?

Pls someone should explain to me how South Africa Consulate Lagos works. I applied for a study visa on the 25th of November last year and nothing is out yet meanwhile my friends who applied in January, 2026 have gotten their visas approved.

I really don't understand. Are they doing first in last out or last in first out 🤔.

I submitted my application since 25th November and nothing yet. I was told that it might take 6 to 8 weeks and its passed 8 weeks already.

Hopefully, we will all get positive news soon.

Good to know. There was a time yellow card verification was a serious issue and some people were denied visas on that ground.

I'm glad things are beginning to improve concerning that.

The yellow fever card I used for my application this year was gotten in 2022 and I didnt get any letter from Port Health.
But it is important to note that I've used same card to obtain SA visa and traveled to SA in the past.

That's good. It appears that the issue with yellow card verification might be a thing of the past.

I can only speak for the yellow fever card. You need to get a letter to certify your vaccination from port health center which you will attach to the yellow fever card when submitting your application. And from my assessment your yellow card is still valid.

The verification site of the port health authority in nigeria has been down for sometime now hence the need for the letter.

Pls I need advise on what to do next.

I got an email and sms that my processed application is in transit from the Consulate Lagos to Lagos visa application centre on the 9th but no news again. I tracked it online and it's showing still under process at the embassy. I sent an email to vfs help email and was told that the processed application message was an error message.

I just received email and sms that my passport has been dispatched through courier oh. This is extremely fast. I submitted just last Thur 18th and I received email, today, Tuesday 23rd. Should I be worried??

I saw the same message on Wednesday but I haven't checked it online.

I received a message via email on Tuesday that my application was in transit from the Consulate of South Africa in Lagos to the Visa Application Center. I also tracked online and saw the same message there. That I'll be informed when it's ready for collection
I didn't hear from them so I decided to track online again and it has changed back to Application is under process at the South African Embassy. Has anyone else experienced this before?
