Let's do a little analysis. I am not sure how many batches NYSC used to have yearly back in the days but I know that not very long ago, it was only Batch A n B. And few years back, it became 3 batches. Now each batch has 2 streams so we can as well say NYSC went from one or two bactches per year to 6 batches. In the mid 2000s when I wrote UME, only 500,000 of us bought forms that year now that number is what sit for Post-UTME in South Western Universities alone yearly.
With this rapid growth in the number of smart Nigerian youths been coughed out by the University system, one would think the government is growing sectors that can maximise their potential and help them use and develop their skills. But No!, what do we have waiting for our smart youths in 2015? Unemployment, Underemployment, The Rat Race, Odd Jobs and Dashed hopes.
