My God! You're a very terrible person. All you care about is politics, no empathy. You were here for the past 8 years supporting Buhari's government while cursing and insulting critics here. You never said anything about his bad polices that put us in this mess. Now you're here again doing the same thing.

Seriously, I just hope Nigeria's don't a mistake electing someone like you into position of power, because you'll make a terrible leader. You're just a sycophant.

I hope you find something better to do with your miserable life.

Tinubu needs to sustain the Naira float, it will settle where it settles. He should remove subsidy. All these people panicking because there is difficulty only show why successive governments have led to this point. They don’t have the balls to do the right thing. What kind of person is advocating g a return of subsidies either Forex or petrol?

You cannot change your life without pain. If it costs him his second term so be it but he needs to sustain the reforms.

Any government, whether in Nigeria, USA, Germany etc can always do better. I agree with you on that.

No government anywhere is immune from widespread dissatisfaction. Infact, the majority of people in the US, Germany, UK etc absolutely detests their current leaders.

As to your claim that the government is 'failing seriously,' it would be helpful if you could share your reasons for their failure as you say.

What do you think they seriously need to be doing now that they're not doing. You never know, people from government may be on Nairaland.

They might just get a timely expo from your brilliant ideas.

Please we are waiting.

let them put money in the system to neutralise the erosion of people's purchasing power, pay wage award to the workers and pensioners and palliative to the vulnerable as they promised, pay pension arrears, pay debt to contractors, this will increase aggregate demand ,increase production ,and ultimately employment, it put live to the dull economic activities, there are products but purchasing power is weak, not holding be problem .
Tinubu knows this but not interested in doing it why would he direct stare governors along this line and he refused to do the one within his purview, I think he just wants to set the governors up to direct attention to them too

Why is Tinubu not implementing this plan he promised?
Tinubu na guy man now, have you seen his palatine anywhere, or you see anyone that has received his wage award especially pensioners and other vulnerable groups, he told people at campaign that their mind should be at rest ,that as soon as he gets to power he will reduce fuel price but he did the opposite even before he got to aso rock ,he was in a hurry to unleash the pain he intended on his slowpoke supporters

Tjra:
How are the BDCs getting their cash?

Just ban all cash withdrawals from DOM accounts. Every withdrawal should be via FX sales transfer sales to Banks or Foreign suppliers with Form M or any other supporting document in place.

Ban all cash deposits as well. Set a deadline for all potential Dollar cash holders to deposit into their accounts. Something similar to Naira mop up of last year.

Speculators are having a field day because they can speculate/trade with cash and then still bring into the Banking system.
This is the only way ,they know it but will not implement it,because they are benefiting, they are not patriotic enough to forgo their advantages
They need cash to as store of value, also to bribe delegates during primaries, and other sundry bribery they may need to carry out from time to time.

These idiots didn't even consider the ripple effect of that single action, I can forgive them for subsidy removal but floating of a weak currency just like that, is too dumb for my liking.
They didn't consider the fact that money in savings or fixed deposit and other instruments will loose value, imagine your millions in your account 7months ago has just loose more than 70% of it's value. Unbelievable!!!

Tinubu is planning to borrow and looth 10billion USD in the guise of defending the naira.

Let's assume (without conceding) he will actually borrow without loathing to defend the naira, isn't that most stupid thing to do.

If you borrow 10b USD and defend naira in the short term, won't you pay back the 10b USD with interest in USD?

This government is clueless.
That is the tragedy of a country where the people don't care about who they elect as leaders
For a people who thinks anything goes when recruiting leaders, things usually end up badly ,like what Nigeria is going through now

It is very difficult to understand this people,is that not among the reasons the naira was floated to improve export and earn more forex, why make it look like this people are doing the wrong, or are they not operating a free market again, where demand and supply interacts
There is demand for maize outside the boarders for a private product not Petroleum that have government subsidy o.

Govts import substitution model is hurting large segments of the population
At the same time, devaluation is also hurting, because we are not yet net exporters of basic and cheap foods and cement. This is creating some form of scarcity .

This neo liberal model is contradictory and failed woefully in Latin America. It was what led to the rise of leftwing govts in mid 2000s.

Mock him all you want but Tinubu government has done what governments in the past couldn't do.

He understands how to reform our economy by first removing fuel subsidy which is meant to inevitably cause temporary hardship.

He appointed an efficient Cardoso as CBN Governor who has so far identified the hidden catapult throwing stones at Naira, then naira devaluation (a policy which some people are using to cash out big time, and one which is meant to kill the hunger for dollars and importation.

Tinubu government decisions have been on point even though the results have not been duly communicated to an ordinary layman, and it's no surprise that people who are criticising him haven't come up with something he has done wrong, just insults and curses without substance.

Tinubu is on the right track, personally I never expected him to be prepared for the job because of his health but I am glad he won, and I'm sure by the time his policies start yielding results, we would want him forever.

Batified
you have no capacity to understand what is happening yet you are defending, if subsidy removal is such a great idea,a cure it all like you are saying, your master will not have re introduced it, and end up paying more, this has negated the arguments of you pro subsidy removal, it has been tried and tested and found it cannot be trusted to solve the problem it was meant to solve

In all honesty, Bubu that Tinubu helped to foist on us damaged 9ja so much that he is now hamstrung.

There is a certain arrogance among our people in SW that they know everything better.

Instead of Tinubu considering better qualified/experienced irrespective of tribe, he hired two local sycophants to handle such vital positions.

It's obvious none of them has anything close to NOI, Sanusi Lamido or Soludo. Even Emefiele until he turned political with Bubu's handlers/cabals.
