CrimeRe: A Police Bulletin Marred By Extensive Errors.. by Sweetcock: 8:44pm On Nov 08, 2025
This Lagos State Police Command's X post is a case study of how poor administrative quality like literacy errors can lead to a severe failure in public relations and increasing existing societal divisions like ethnic friction, potentially detracting from the primary goal of public safety and justice.

It's a powerful and unfortunately all-too-common scenario Igbos see every day in the hands of their haters. This silly bulletin should be condemned in all fronts including but not limited to the following areas.

1. On Literacy and Professionalism: The extensive grammatical and spelling errors like "Wanteded," "Gazezette," "Murdered by stabbed" severely undermine the command's credibility and professionalism.

2. On Weaponization of Identity: The suspect's Igbo identity was generalized to blame "Ibos" for crime in Lagos. This demonstrates how a seemingly neutral piece of official information can be weaponized by the public to intensify Yoruba-Igbo tensions.

3. On Wasted Effort: The message's core purpose to solicit help in finding a suspect is overshadowed by the mockery, leading to a loss of focus on the actual crime and suspect.

4. On Impact on Trust: These errors suggest a lack of care, attention to detail, or basic administrative competence, making the public question the reliability of the entire operation and the accuracy of the information provided.

5. On Modern Context: As the replies pointed out, such errors are particularly egregious in 2025, where basic proofreading tools are widely available.

6. On Public Safety and Effectiveness:
While the message provides necessary details like name, age, crime, address, physical traits, the professional failure detracts from its utility.

6. On Clarity of Information: Though the core facts are present, the poor phrasing could potentially introduce ambiguity, though in this case, the physical description heavy build, limping and Festac Town address are valuable and directly helpful for identification.

7. I can go on and on....

This is the clear case of when people have been so blinded by tribalism that it reflects in their every day activities not only in the street but also in the government.

The Lagos State Police Command's should expunge hatred for the Igbos and focus on doing their job professionally as severe literacy errors like this shamefully undermined their credibility and draws unnecessary public mockery.

Bsssss:
You can't eat your cake and have it. Tinubu government have destroyed Nigeria economy. Even if they like, let them rebase Nigeria GDP x1000, it won't undo the calamity he unleashed on Nigeria on May 29th 2025!
This is so true but many people will still argue with you
