Her Visa expired on January 5 2026. She can't travel.

Mamabella:
Good evening everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.

Please, I need some clarification regarding my daughter’s Canadian visitor visa. She was granted the visa last year but has not travelled to Canada yet. Her visa expires on January 5, 2026.

I would like to ask:

1. Will it be a problem that she has not travelled to Canada since the visa was issued?

2. If we travel to Canada in December, before her visa expires, will she be allowed to enter Canada as long as the visa is still valid on the day she arrives?

3. If we book our return flight for January 5 or after January 5, would the fact that her visa expires on January 5 cause any problem?

4. Does the visa expiry date only determine the latest date she can enter Canada, or does she also have to leave Canada before the visa expiry date?

I would really appreciate any clarification from anyone who has experience with this. Thank you so much.

You should be able to specify what amount out of the 14 million you are planning on spending on the trip. It's never wise to have 14m and say you want to spend the 14m on the trip to Canada and come back home broke.

Mojimade:
Hi everyone,

I’m currently completing visitor visa applications for my parents, who plan to visit me in Canada for two weeks.

They have ₦14 million available as proof of funds. The entire amount is in my father’s account, and he will be fully sponsoring my mother’s trip as well.

On my father’s application, I entered ₦14 million under “How much money do you have for your stay in Canada?”

For my mother’s application, should I also enter the full ₦14 million since my father is sponsoring her, or should I divide the money between both applications and enter ₦7 million for each of them? I’m really confused about this part.

Also, is ₦14 million sufficient for both applicants for a two-week visit? If not, what amount would be considered reasonable?

Thank you.
