You (correctly) blame Tinubu for propping up an inept Buhari- for eight long years. You also (again, correctly) blame Nigerians for their poor electoral choices in 2015. Ok, Agreed. But Tinubu himself has publicly stated that he and Buhari were 'one'. If you say Buhari would have collapsed the country (if he had stayed on for just 3 more months), then you must acknowledge BAT's role in creating that potential disaster.

Where your argument begins to unravel even further is your criticism of BAT's challengers who in your view, are unsuitable for office. There are several presidential candidates who are challenging BAT. They cannot all be worse than he is - and we all know this. If Nigerians decide to replace BAT with a more suitable leader - then so be it.

Your strong criticism of Buhari must be extended to BAT. It's the fair and just thing to do.

Tinubu claiming that he is Buhari is merely political rhetoric meant not to alienate the support of the Northern supporters of Buhari. In reality, any honest Nigerian knows that Tinubu was pushed aside by Buhari and didn't even get presidential support in 2023 as he was never Buhari's preferred candidate.Indeed, if Tinubu were to belong to a different political party, I think he would have actively prosecuted Buhari's government for the unfettered corruption perpetuated during it's reign.


My reference to the challengers of Tinubu specifically capture the top 2. Other challengers may be more competent (excluding Sowore the inconsistent anarchist) but since they will not get block votes, identifying and propping them up does not matter in the current political equation.

Nigerians are in a dilemma: choose an incompetent replacement and suffer retrogression similar or worse than the Buhari era, or vote in the status quo (despite his part complicity in facilitating the victory of Buhari in 2015) who from available data has got many things right, from a policy perspective.


I don't believe in democracy's game of numbers. It assumes that every voting-eligible person has the gumption to make the right, objective political choice. However, practical experience across nations has over the years (even in the Aristotelian era) shown that most of the masses lack the capacity to understand and choose merit.



When Buhari was being over-hyped as a pseudo-messiah, my question then was that how does and how will hyping translate into competence? If a carpenter were hyped to be better than a pilot, will that hyping and public conviction based on that hyping make that carpenter able to fly a plane and avert disaster?

Another inconvenient truth Nigerians must deal with is this: most politicians are hardly affected when they lose power by subsequent bad governance due to the fiscal buffer system they have built around themselves. For instance, as happy as millions felt for voting out GEJ, did he suffer the socioeconomic rogbodiyan that Buhari's government engendered? Was he or his relatives victims of the marauding Fulani herdsmen and bandits?

I'm not a fan of Tinubu at all, but I agree with him. Many of you do not know the damage Buhari and his cohorts like Emefiele did to the economy. We were on the bridge of total economic collapse . Tinubu has done very well in rescuing and stabilizing the economy . Exchange rate is now stable, we have sufficient foreign reserves, investor confidence is now renewed and our stock market is booming. what now remains is growth that translates to better lives for nigerian's.

Most Nigerians suffer from multi-dimensional ignorance and believe that their fantasies are synonymous with how socioeconomic policies work in reality. Others are simply intentionally dishonest about how they interpret facts. If Buhari's tenure had been extended by another 3 months, Nigerians would have seen more than pansa pansa, and the country might have totally collapsed. The economic data and indices are still available.

My major grouse with Tinubu is that the Buhari he would never have employed to manage any of his businesses was the one he supported against GEJ who wasn't doing badly, except on propaganda-driven outlets. Sadly, Tinubu supported some of such propaganda in order to wrestle power from GEJ. Nevertheless, nobody put guns to the foreheads of the Nigerians who voted for PMB in 2015 who believed he could, against economic logic, equalize the Naira to the Dollar and end Boko Haram, despite his documented soft spot for jihad-related ideologies/practices.


However, replacing Tinubu with a bunch of noise-making, policy-bereft politicians (some of whom only had mythical achievements in their previous foray into governance) will return Nigeria into the abyss of retrogression.


If the noise-making and hyperbolic political rhetoric of 2015 blinded Nigerians to understanding the benefits of GEJ's policies, the socioeconomic catastrophies that their pseudo-messiah, Buhari, brought about should have taught them some lessons about making emotionally-driven political choices.

Imagine someone earned a PhD in in 1973 (according to you) but a decade later when he submitted his credentials for the biggest prize in academia he only mentioned a BA!!

Nurses and medical scientists can become clinical professors without having a PhD in the western hemisphere. But being a professor in such a rank for many years does not imply that such individuals could be referred to as "Dr".


Even the African Academy of Sciences states that Kongi has a PhD.

Would it have killed you to have gone to Wikipedia to actually check the source of their information...which in this case happens to be a copy of a bulletin directly from the Leeds University website!!!

I repeat, I heard it directly from WS in 1999 that he earned a PhD from Leeds, where he had been enrolled in graduate studies. I also checked and saw it it on the University website in 2003. Maybe, WS lied and the person who previously entered the information on the University website erred. But the probability of both occurring to create that narrative is extremely slim.

As an academic, I am aware that people with honorary doctorates are not addressed as "Dr". Yet, I have come across old, physical documents where WS is addressed as "Dr. Soyinka.".


I think WS (if he chooses to), or the Niyi Osundares and other older generation of academic literary writers will need to settle this matter.

I have always known this since the early 2000s.

If most of the production in the South East occurs informally but the value of the products and services are felt nationally, it is important to know their exact nature that make them being "ineligible" for VAT.

In other words, does it mean such products and services are not regulated, or those who produce them have chosen to keep them from regulatory prism? If so, how safe could such goods and services be for the nation?

The Apostles would have carried on with Christ's teaching on tithe, but not with the contemporary fervour that several denominations employ.

The giving that the Apostle Paul referred to in 1 Corinthians 16:2 would have clearly encompassed tithes.

What about people who were unlucky to exist before the gospel got to their location? E.g people who lived and died before the gospel got to Nigeria.

What about most people in countries e.g north korea and other such countries who have little to no knowledge about christ?

So I have been trying to sell off my old watches which I have been advertising here and on jiji. I been able to sell two of the watches and two smartbands, and all the payments were via transfer.

This guy called me yesterday that he saw my ad on jiji and wanted to buy my Galaxy Watch 3 for his son. We bargained 100k. He said he was in the office and would call me once he's done.

After about an hour, he called that he's on his way to Lugbe shoprite in Abuja (I stay around there).

When he got to shoprite, he described he's car, and they were three guys in the car. The guy I have been talking with was sitting at the back. He said I should come inside.

The guy inspected the watch, and confirmed everything was fine. He said he has transferred my money, and then showed me his phone that he has been debited. I wasn't even concerned about the debit alert, I'm very aware of fake alert.

Based on trust, I just told him he could go with the watch while I expect my credit alert (based on network, I dont know if it will take 24hrs or more).

He told me thank you and left, and that was the end.

From there I went to get fuel, I stayed 30 minutes at the filling station, no alert. I started calling this thief and he didn't pick.

I have called him over 50 times with my both lines, but the shameless he-goat refused picking my calls, instead he switched off the phone. I realised I have been scammed, I deleted his number so I'm not tempted to call him again. The last thing I want now is distraction. If 100k makes him happy so be it.

I feel very angry because I allowed him go based on trust. I thought I was dealing with a gentle man.

Moreover this month has been very tough for me, Amazon out of the blues closed my associates account for a mistake I made in 2020, and withheld my $1400.

I now realise why the driver of the bus I took while coming back to Abuja turned to a mad man at lokoja simply because 6hrs later the transfer I did to him has not reflected on his account. He said before we continue our journey to Abuja, I must pay him his money in cash. I was forced to withdraw 20k from POS at 3k charge. He eventually saw the alert by 7pm after we arrived Abuja, and I was given back my cash.

Henceforth, I no see alert for my phone with all the marks from my bank, no deal.

Be warned, some Nigerians can be so daft. I couldn't understand why a grown ass man will be so useless.

Applied to the context of Nigeria, the same economic indices that the APC (Association of Political Crooks) claimed were bad (e.g., Naira to Dollar exchange rate) have gone from worst to only-God-knows-what!

The economic indices and the daily socio-fiscal realities we experience are clear indicators that the PMB (SSCE?) Administration has failed woefully and taken the nation into the abyss of retrogression.


Despite the glaring incompetence of different facets of the present Administration, one is still surprised to find supporters, surprisingly, even among university-educated Nigerians.

Is it a case of cerebral hypnotism, abject senselesness, loyalty based on party affiliation or ongoing benefits from the Government?
