PoliticsRe: Low VAT Doesn’t Mean Low Economic Contribution: The South East Nigeria Case by sylfad(m): 10:58pm On Jan 31
If most of the production in the South East occurs informally but the value of the products and services are felt nationally, it is important to know their exact nature that make them being "ineligible" for VAT.

In other words, does it mean such products and services are not regulated, or those who produce them have chosen to keep them from regulatory prism? If so, how safe could such goods and services be for the nation?
Christianity EtcRe: 10 Things Catholics Do That The Apostles Didn't by sylfad(m): 2:18pm On Oct 26, 2025
ekanx27:
The Apostles didn't pay tithe. Where did that originate from?
Jesus taught about the importance of not neglecting tithes (Mat 23:23), though tithing in the absence of genuine repentance and salvation is of no eternal benefits.

The Apostles would have carried on with Christ's teaching on tithe, but not with the contemporary fervour that several denominations employ.

The giving that the Apostle Paul referred to in 1 Corinthians 16:2 would have clearly encompassed tithes.
Christianity EtcRe: Are There Degrees Of Punishment In Hell? by sylfad(m): 1:58pm On Apr 07, 2024
What about people who were unlucky to exist before the gospel got to their location? E.g people who lived and died before the gospel got to Nigeria.

What about most people in countries e.g north korea and other such countries who have little to no knowledge about christ?

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world (John 1:9)

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Heb 13 v eight).

Before the manifestation of Jesus Christ the Son of God in the flesh, During His manifestation and afterwards; He always lights up the conscience of everyone, everywhere in every generation.

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another (Rom 2:13-15)

Some people hear only the basics from their conscience (e.g., non-Jews born before the time of Christ and cultures where the gospel has not reached) whereas others hear the full gospel; either way, the same Jesus works through these channels. After all, no man comes unto the Father except by him (John 14:6).

Job was not a Jew, yet became righteous because he was described as perfect, upright, fearing God and refraining from evil (Job 1:1).

So, no man in any generation and in anywhere in the world has an excuse for rejecting Jesus Christ
CrimeRe: I Was Scammed 100k Yesterday by sylfad(m): 3:18pm On Feb 24, 2023
skultrick:
So I have been trying to sell off my old watches which I have been advertising here and on jiji. I been able to sell two of the watches and two smartbands, and all the payments were via transfer.

This guy called me yesterday that he saw my ad on jiji and wanted to buy my Galaxy Watch 3 for his son. We bargained 100k. He said he was in the office and would call me once he's done.

After about an hour, he called that he's on his way to Lugbe shoprite in Abuja (I stay around there).

When he got to shoprite, he described he's car, and they were three guys in the car. The guy I have been talking with was sitting at the back. He said I should come inside.

The guy inspected the watch, and confirmed everything was fine. He said he has transferred my money, and then showed me his phone that he has been debited. I wasn't even concerned about the debit alert, I'm very aware of fake alert.

Based on trust, I just told him he could go with the watch while I expect my credit alert (based on network, I dont know if it will take 24hrs or more).

He told me thank you and left, and that was the end.

From there I went to get fuel, I stayed 30 minutes at the filling station, no alert. I started calling this thief and he didn't pick.

I have called him over 50 times with my both lines, but the shameless he-goat refused picking my calls, instead he switched off the phone. I realised I have been scammed, I deleted his number so I'm not tempted to call him again. The last thing I want now is distraction. If 100k makes him happy so be it.

I feel very angry because I allowed him go based on trust. I thought I was dealing with a gentle man.

Moreover this month has been very tough for me, Amazon out of the blues closed my associates account for a mistake I made in 2020, and withheld my $1400.

I now realise why the driver of the bus I took while coming back to Abuja turned to a mad man at lokoja simply because 6hrs later the transfer I did to him has not reflected on his account. He said before we continue our journey to Abuja, I must pay him his money in cash. I was forced to withdraw 20k from POS at 3k charge. He eventually saw the alert by 7pm after we arrived Abuja, and I was given back my cash.

Henceforth, I no see alert for my phone with all the marks from my bank, no deal.

Be warned, some Nigerians can be so daft. I couldn't understand why a grown ass man will be so useless.
Sorry about your loss.

It is people who are trustworthy who often expect others to be reliable.

Asking the person who has made a transfer to see their on-line transactions in real time is an approach that can by-pass fake debit alerts.

BOOM 💥

When i see some Yorubas that hate Tinubu i just Laugh they forgot that he brought YORUBA back into the game of politics when we have already lost our space in in this democratic era after Obasanjo sold us out without looking back!!!

The PDP (2011-2015) didn't have a single yoruba person in the top 8 political positions of Nigeria

1. GEJ- President
2. Sambo- VP
3. David Mark- SP
4. Ekweremadu- DSP
5. Tambuwal- Speaker
6. Ihedioha- Dep. Speaker
7. Katsina-Ala - CJN
8.Anyim Pius -SGF

Tinubu brought us back into the game and now we are back in the top 8 , and we currently have OSINBAJO & GBAJABIAMILA in top 4, 2023 is also our chance to rule this great country but some of us are lost
How about the Yoruba woman, Mulikat, from Ogun State who Tinubu stopped, through crooked politrickngs, from becoming the Speaker of the House of Assembly?

I got my PhD from Duquesne in 2017.

I knew Dr. Marinus from a distance. He pulled out of the Spiritian Order around 2016.

This is sad; probably a love/lust story turned sour.
PoliticsRe: Buhari To Seun Okinbaloye: I Don't Know How Correct Your Calculation Is by sylfad(m):
If someone has malaria, an objective means of knowing the diagnosis is through the parameters of a laboratory test to check for the presence of malaria parasites and the extent of parasitemia.

Applied to the context of Nigeria, the same economic indices that the APC (Association of Political Crooks) claimed were bad (e.g., Naira to Dollar exchange rate) have gone from worst to only-God-knows-what!

The economic indices and the daily socio-fiscal realities we experience are clear indicators that the PMB (SSCE?) Administration has failed woefully and taken the nation into the abyss of retrogression.

Despite the glaring incompetence of different facets of the present Administration, one is still surprised to find supporters, surprisingly, even among university-educated Nigerians.

Is it a case of cerebral hypnotism, abject senselesness, loyalty based on party affiliation or ongoing benefits from the Government?
