Provided u are no working presently, accept the FIRS offer first before takng into consideration any decisions. even if u will go for ur MSC. cos that would be in september which you can still defer till january so that you can put things in order at FIRS. You might be lucky to find favour in FIRS for you to go and still retain your appointment when u comes back (its possible- trust me!).
You should remember that there are economic recessions and i know hundreds of PTDF scholars thats come back to struggle for entry llevel.

I think you dont have problem staying in Kano. I stayed in kano for more than 3years before leaving for my present location. Accomodation is relatively cheap, you can get good 3brm flat at a very good location (GRA) from 250k -350k per annum.

About hang-outs, there are, but not as many as you find in lagos, abuja etc. But i bet you, you would discovered things that will make you want to continue to stay.
