There's no metric you'll use that can put mane above Salah... If anything, Salah elevated Mane's game.

I also don't think that the AFCON final has any bearing on who was the better player as both players took their respective teams to the final and while one was fortunate to have teammates that converted their spot kicks ( even after he missed a penalty), the other wasn't as lucky.

For starters, I feel like the best EPL player of all time should have multiple EPL titles ... Personally, considering a combination of factors like dominance , longevity of impact, tittles, awards, records , stats and influence my top ten will include : Thierry Henry, Wayne Rooney, Frank lampard, Alan shearer ( one title though),Patrick Vieira, Peter check, nemanja vidic, Christiano Ronaldo, Roy Keane, kompany ( in no particular order except for thiery Henry my number 1).

Honourable mentions: kun aguero, Salah, kdb, scholes , Claude makelele and John Terry

I always consider Ronaldo as the greatest player to play in the EPL and Henry(Igwe aka Mr premier league) as Premier League's greatest player. However, if everything goes according to plan, Salah will trump them both in EPL discussions.

I still don't have him in my top 10 but if when he wins the league and somehow wins the ballondor then he become to me the best epl player ever. However if he doesn't win the ballondor, I'll have him as top 4 or 5

All those foolish arguments, Salah silenced them. From his first season in Liverpool I have seen that the guy is destined to be great and I called him best African to ever play in the EPL

He is undoubtedly the greatest African player to have graced the Premier League. If he secures a second Champions League title this season ( hopefully not) and subsequently wins the Ballon d'Or, he would cement his status as the greatest African footballer ever, period .

But I do think he needs a couple more seasons of impact to be considered the best epl player ever...if he leaves Liverpool this season, then I don't see that happening. He's currently top 15 for sure.

2. All our boys tried maybe except ferran, they showed character to come back from 2 early goals and they played athletico like school children for the most part of the game... the error in judgement from our coach cost us the win.

Playing against rugged teams like the Madrids you need Gavi or Casado to do the dirty work.

De jong would just be passing ball around like a woman.

I guess flick needs control in that midfield...even though dejong is a defensive liability, he is somewhat press resistant and flick obviously wants to keep the ball as much as possible to hence the gengenpressing

I think we'll see Cassado later on in the second half if athletico comes at us and pushes more men forward
