Did you know that in the sale and purchase of a land in Nigeria, there are two major documents that should be signed and executed by the vendor and purchaser?

The first is a Contract of Sale of Land. This document stipulates the terms of the sale and highlights the obligations of the parties.

The second document is a Deed of Assignment. It is by this final document that the ownership of the property is transferred from the vendor to the purchaser. It is beneficial that in a sale transaction, both the first and second documents are executed.
