Two and a half years ago, 37-year-old Michelle almost died. She’d been battling what she thought was a cold for five days; she’d felt exhausted and dizzy, with hot and cold flushes and headaches. She even lost her voice at one point, but the normally-healthy single mum carried on juggling her busy job in outpatient care with looking after her daughter Kira, 9.

But when Michelle woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t move her legs, she knew something was seriously wrong. Terrified, she called an ambulance – but when the paramedics arrived, she couldn’t get out of bed and had to crawl to the door.

This is the shocking moment a Russian doctor was caught on camera killing a patient with a single punch. Video of the attack in the southern city of Belgorod was aired repeatedly on state television, while Russian media nicknamed the attacker 'the boxer doctor'.
The incident raised questions over a cover-up culture in state medicine, with investigators only announcing the probe several days later, after security camera footage was released online and shown on television.

Swiss artist Milo Moire has stripped off at the site in Cologne where dozens of women were sexually assaulted on New Year's Eve. She stood nude in front of the German city's iconic cathedral with a sign saying: "Respect us! We are not fair game even when we are naked."
The protest comes as Cologne's police chief was dismissed today amid mounting criticism of his force's handling of the attacks. Police were blasted after gangs of around 1,000 migrant men - reportedly of North African and Arab descent, attacked, robbed and sexually assaulted women outside the main railway station.

A Chinese woman glued to her cell phone drowned when she slipped and fell into a canal. A surveillance video shows the moment the woman, 28, veers to the right and falls into the canal in Houyang village, Wenzhou. Researchers tested out the Babypod on hundreds of pregnant women last year. They looked at how the reaction of the foetus differed when it was played music through the belly and internally via the vagina.
The babies who were serenaded through the vagina opened their mouths and stuck out their tongues while the melodies played, but stopped when the tunes finished.
Meanwhile those who were played the music from outside the mother's body didn't respond at all.

ISIS have been issued new guidance on the rules of rape.
New guidance were issued following a series of reported "violations".
The new rules set out how members of the terrorist organisation which holds large territories in both Iraq and Syria including major cities Raqqa and Mosul, may treat their "sex slaves".
A "fatwa" was issued back in January, according to documents seized by US Special Operations Forces which have only now been released.

The new rules
1. It is not permissible for the owner of a female captive to have intercourse with her until after she has had menstrual cycle and becomes clean.
2. If she does not menstruate and is pregnant, he is not allowed to have intercourse with her until after she has given birth.
3. It is not permissible to cause her to abort if she is pregnant.
4. If the owner of a female captive releases her, only he can have intercourse with her and he cannot allow someone else to have intercourse with her.
