His mistake: confiding to a friend that he was attending a 'straight' party as a girl for the first time in his life.'When I saw Dwayne's body, I started shaking and crying,' said Khloe, one of three transgendered friends who shared a derelict house with the teenager in the hills above the north coast city of Montego Bay.

Police say witnesses have said they couldn't see the attackers' faces.
Dwayne was the center of attraction shortly after arriving in a taxi at 2am with his two 23-year-old housemates, Khloe and Keke.
Dwayne's expert dance moves, long legs and high cheekbones quickly made him the one that all the guys were trying to get next to.
Like most Jamaican homosexuals, Dwayne was careful about confiding in others about his sexual orientation.


But when he saw a girl he had known from church, he told her he was attending the party in drag.
Minutes later, according to Khloe and Keke, the girl's male friends gathered around Dwayne in the dimly-lit street asking: 'Are you a woman or a man?'
One man waved a lighter's flame near Dwayne's sneakers, asking whether a girl could have such big feet.
Then, his friends said, another man grabbed a lantern from an outdoor bar and walked over to Dwayne, shining the bright light over him from head to toe. 'It's a man,' he concluded, while the others hissed 'batty boy' and other anti-gay epithets.


Khloe says she tried to steer him away from the crowd, whispering in Dwayne's ear: 'Walk with me, walk with me.' But Dwayne pulled away, loudly insisting to partygoers that he was a girl.
When someone behind him snapped his bra strap, the teen panicked and raced down the street.
But he couldn't run fast enough to escape the mob.
The teenager was viciously assaulted and apparently half-conscious for some two hours before another sustained attack finished him off, according to Khloe, who was also beaten and nearly raped.
She hid in a nearby church and then the surrounding woods, unable to call for help because she didn't have her cellphone.


Dwayne's father in the Montego Bay slum of North Gully didn't want to talk about his son's life or death.
The teen's family wouldn't even claim the body, according to Dwayne's friends.
They remembered him as a spirited boy with a contagious laugh who dreamt of becoming a performer like Lady Gaga.
He was also a street-smart hustler who resorted to sleeping in the bushes or on beaches when he became homeless.
He won a local dancing competition during his time on the streets and was affectionately nicknamed 'Gully Queen.'
'He was the youngest of us but he was a diva,' Khloe said. 'He was always very feisty and joking around.'

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested one Kingsley Mudi over alleged ATM fraud. He was picked up at about 11 pm on August 2, 2013 at Fidelity Bank ATM on Airport Road, Warri, Delta State following an intelligence report.
At the point of arrest, 30 ATM cards of different banks with which he allegedly withdrew a total sum of five hundred and fifty thousand naira (N550, 000) were found in his possession. Eight signed UBA cheques belonging to sundry persons were also found on him. Kingsley Mudi, who claimed to be a Disc Jockey and an operator of a barbing salon, has volunteered useful information.

He will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Africa seems to be at war...a war with poverty, bad governance, insecurity, economic crumbling, terrorism etc and all we can think of as a unifying factor is -in Novia's voice "Ghana giving Tanzania STDs" or "South Africa sub-raping Nigeria" or perhaps the glorification of privates parts turned continental public areas for global consumption in the rather disgusting shower hour.

Like most young people, I am affected by what I read and watch on the internet and so it is left to imagination how many youths on the African continent who have been possessed by this show of shame and degradation of the African culture.

Nigeria is at war in the North, Zimbabwe is in another political crisis-an aftermath of yet another Mugabe self transition, Mali at war with itself, Egypt in comatose and several other crisis on the continent and in one day, two unguarded young adults disgracing themselves and embarrassing their families overshadow all these turmoil. I can imagine Beverly's mother watching the 'bathtub show' and saying proudly to her friends in Nollyhood's Mama G's voice..."that's my girl". Oh what an irony.
Over the years, Big Brother Africa organized by some disgusting firm in South Africa has continued to dement the thinking of young adults who now believe what they see is normal especially in the "globalization" context as against values they were taught by their parents and ofcourse our deceitful society. In the 2007 edition, Richard Bezuidenhout rapped the drunk Nigerian mate, Ofunneka and simply said there was nothing wrong with it. Like he said "Well, this is Africa", the rest is history as the 'Manual rapist' as Richard was referred to went on to win the $100,000 prize of the game. Again what an irony.

Like the good Professor, Professor Wole Soyinka who thoroughly detest the continental show of shame, it is pertinent to at juncture posits that the silence kept by people who perhaps can make a positive change is most rather unwelcome. Its high time we all condemn in its entirety the activities of these agents of a demoralized Africa where our hard-core moral values which is synonymous to us as a peculiar people on the surface of the earth is being bastardized with the mask of entertainment. Nigeria is a Country where pornography is condemned daily and several moves has been made to control internet porn yet BBA invades our airwaves with a milder kind of soft porn while we sit back perhaps hapless as teenagers and even their younger ones are introduced to a world of immorality right in their father's parlor...atleast in the past kids who wanted to indulge in this had to do it with some discretion(hidden dvds, porn obtained through bluetooth from friends' phones etc). BBA Chase is a nuisance, why encourage youths to chase indignity above dignity,indecency above decency, why spend so much resources to promote moral decadence. Somebody needs tell, Multi Choice that Africa needs better moral teaching packages not a show where girls with kids out of wedlock and boys who should be fathoming a way forward for our economic lock jam only come to showcase their sexual prowess ...
PERHAPS its high time our National Assembly who have in recent times shown interest in similar matters(#same sex marriage,#ChildBride et al) promulgate a law prohibiting any Nigerian citizen from participating in this show of shame while also prohibiting it from being aired on any Nigerian package on DSTV (We even heard when they tried deliberating on the possibility some years ago,it was frustrated by some UN-honorables who were quite excited about the shower hour).

PERHAPS this might just be a way to begin checking the excesses of Multi Choice's control of our airwaves. Atleast we wouldn't forget in a hurry the embarrassment given the country during the last Nations Cup over televising on local stations. Still on the Nations Cup,I believe this is enough for the unification of the continent unlike what the thieving organizers of the amoral BBA which promotes promiscuity among opposite sex.

PERHAPS in the subsequent shows we should be watching out for homosexual intercourse shown live across the continent,I can just imagine life trans-country 'bonning' ofcourse to our valueless chagrin.

PERHAPS our politicians would awake from their slumber then and start crying foul.

Or PERHAPS,a rift which might someday go bad with the use of sharp objects resulting to PERHAPS bodily harm or even 'God forbid on their behalf' PERHAPS murder.

Come to think of it, what justification do we even have as Nigerians after all an OSU sorry OAU(Obafemi Awolowo University) student has recently entered the Guinness book of World record for Longest sex covering 15hours,7Mins and 23seconds, I wonder what this would do to us as a nation.

The same lame question people ask and when you answer them they ask again and again like some badly programmed robot. “can you give your daughter out in marriage at 14?” The simple answer is yes. But watch out, after reading this piece they will ask again. They ask and keep asking because the campaign against a woman less than 18 getting married has just two pillars: angry exclamations and pointless questions. We will not be like them, we will mention and refute each and every one of their objection to a man of any age marrying a woman of any age provided there is parental consent

Some have likened marrying a 14 years old girl to “ruining her life” and this is related to sex often. This is the view point of people who are sexually reckless hence their mind have become perverted so much so that they can only think of a man and a young lady living as man and wife from the angle of sex. When he was informed that marriage does not mean immediate sex one of such commentators said “how can you give a bone to a dog and expect him not to eat it?”. So you see this pervert likens his being around a 14 years old girl to a dog being around a bone and surprisingly he thinks someone else is the pervert

Pedophilia is not to have sex with your wife who is under 18 within marriage, pedophilia is to have sexual desire for prepubescent children. If i marry a paralyzed woman does it follow that i have sexual desire for paralyzed women? If i marry an old lady does it follow that i have sexual desire for old women? Why is it said that whoever marries someone you defined a child has sexual desire for children? This thinking can only come from people who not only think marriage is equal to sex but also see women as of no other value than sex and one can hardly blame them afteral the movies they watch, songs they sing, women they see and even clothes they wear resolve around sex and they think everyone is like them

The problem i have with overnight moralist is their hypocrisy. If the news was that the Senate removed a clause that says fornication is a crime these Child Not Bride people will not breathe a word. If the news was that Senate removed a clause that girls of 14 years can no longer be used as house helps these Child not Bride hypocrites will not breathe a word. They tell us that a girl of 14 cannot handle a home yet alot of them have one at home washing their clothes, cleaning the toilet and sweeping their floors without respect and honour that a man should give his wife. They tell us a girl of 14 does not know anything yet Juliet of the Romeo and Juliet fame which they propagate as epitome of love was not even up to 14 neither was the Rose character who is depicted to have sex with Jack. So to these crazed morons it is ok for a child to be depicted with romance and sex but she should not marry; they choose child pornography over marriage and one of their messages asked yet another chilly question: “how can a child who is not allowed to watch pornography be allowed to get married?”. What a question, what a people!

Where were these fraudsters when movies were being aired teaching their children how to kiss and have sex? Where were these criminals when Mrs. Ngozi Iwuoha cried her eyes out narrating how Apostle Princewill Basil lied to her 15 years old daughter that there was a “dirty foundation that defined her life” and that he has the anointing power to cast the evil spirit away from her so he violated the little girl and when she was pregnant he took her somewhere and aborted the baby. What about the chairman of bishops in Rivers State, Bishop Chibuike Nwabueze who admitted to have had sex with a 14 years old girl and paid for her abortion? Why was there no Child Not intimacy gadget campaign and no VVF talk? The Bishop even claimed the little girl seduced him and i am sure this same Bishop if he was not nabbed would have been among the loud mouths speaking against a decision not to prohibit marriage for a 17 years old whose parent and religion consent

In the last few weeks there was no fewer than 5 little children defiled in Benin City from police report alone and you can be sure the police will not report 95% of the cases. Vanguard Newspaper has tagged it a Season of Rape. Pastor Eze Fidelis of the Deeper Life Bible Church was discovered to be having sex with two girls one 9 and the other 11 and the two of the use to come together to his house for that purpose for over a year now meaning he started when one was 8 and the other 10, Segun Oteru did what he did with Grace a 12 years old, and Saturday Cole did same with another little girl of 11 all in one week and nobody breathe a word, and it was not done by force, and what we hear is “i was tempted” from the same mouth that would have been cursing Yerima for marrying a girl who is now 17 years old schooling happily in Egypt while he is in Nigeria. Some say Yerima paid 500,000 dollars for dowry and at the same time they said his wife will have VVF, this is like fasting and eating at the same time but the country has enough fools who will buy any and every talk

Putting all these occurrences into perspective, we are not saying if you did not speak up against prostitution then you must be mute on fornication, that is wrong because both are evil. What we are saying is if you will not criticize an evil do not criticize a good just because you suspect it may lead to evil in some cases. Will there be men who will maltreat their wife when she is 90? YES, will there be men who will maltreat their wife when they are 14? YES, will there be men who will maltreat their wife when they are 25? YES…there is nothing in the age 17 that induces maltreatment. Fathers need to be careful who they allow their daughters of any age to marry, they may even be more careful when the daughter is younger, no problem, but don’t tell us the whole idea is wrong and should be prohibited for everybody because, i don’t know of your Christian community, but our Muslim community have men who will not maltreat their wives of any age even though we have a few who would. I don’t know of your Christian community but our Muslim community have men who marry for other reasons apart from sex and we urge you to respect that afteral we are not coming for your daughter, even if we do you can reject, and our daughters who we marry out at 14 are not complaining now that they are 35, matter of fact they are happy they will have children of 20 who may even be Professors by the time they are 45 still young and beautiful thirty years into marriage

You have always ask if we can give out our daughters at that age and we have always answered that we can because we know the stuff a true Muslim is made of; even if his wife was blind, deaf and dumb he won’t maltreat her because his beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has already said the best among you is the one who is best to his wife. If you judge us looking at El Rufai and Atiku Abubakar who you have corrupted with your system you may not see clearly. I suggest you bother yourself with your problem so that we see a Boy Not Bride campaign that will safe the little boys being sodomized everyday in the name of a strange thou shall not marry religious belief afterall they say charity begins at home

Finally, let me say that you can make any law you want to make none will be before our Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet because we consider it foolishness to place what man legislates on top what God Almighty reveals, so if you intend to seize the House of Assembly and write a new constitution that says marriage should be put at 45 please knock yourself out, the law will be for you and you alone; we marry at any age and to partners of any age and nothing will stop it, you can waste time and money it won’t change because this is how we have kept our decency which, even though you hate to admit, you are witnesses to. We do hope you come out of your hypocrisy some day and accept life as real as it is , maybe then you’ll realise when God and God’s people speak the opinion of fools don’t matter.

Award-winning music director found guilty of fathering children with his daughters will spend the rest of his life in jail.

Aswad Ayinde, 55, of Paterson, NJ, was sentenced to 50 years in prison Friday after being found guilty in the second of five expected trials in which he is accused of repeatedly raping his six daughters, resulting in six children being fathered. Mr. Ayinde was found guilty in his latest trial of having intercourse with a daughters when she was as young as eight-years-old. The second sentence adds to the 40 year sentence Mr Ayinde received in a 2011 trial for sexually assaulting a separate daughter.


Mr. Ayinde is known for directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 smash hit ‘Killing Me Softly.’

In a disturbing disclosure during his first trial, Mr. Ayinde’s former wife said he was trying to create a ‘pure family bloodline’ by impregnating his daughters. He even claimed during a pre-trial hearing before the first trial that 'the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.'

In this latest trial, it was revealed that Mr. Ayinde began having intercourse with his second daughter from the time she eight-years-old, impregnating her four times.

The sexual assaults happened for almost 30 years until Mr. Ayinde and his wife separated, officials said. They occurred in numerous homes across northern New Jersey, even while the family was under watch of state child welfare officials, according to NBC New York. Some of the rapes even took place in an abandoned funeral home.

The family moving as far away as Florida to avoid investigation after case workers removed multiple children from the Ayinde household in 2000, resulting in Mr. Ayinde being arrested for kidnapping for trying to take them from state custody in a medical center, NBC New York reported.

Mr. Ayinde was found guilty of repeatedly raping one of his daughters for decades - from the time she was only eight years old - and fathering four children with her

He pleaded guilty to lesser charges and received a year’s probation – as he continued raping one daughter for at least another two years, according to officials.

The depraved father also beat and starved the girls using wooden boards and steel-toed boots for even ‘minor transgressions,’ Ayinde’s wife testified at the first trial.

Some of the children Ayinde fathered with his daughters were born in the home, with at least two babies who died in the home having been buried without notifying authorities or obtaining birth certificates, NBC New York reported.
Mr. Ayinde also fathered 12 additional children with an additional three women, according to court records

Ayinde’s tortured daughters were home schooled and isolated from other children, so as to keep the family secrets hidden, the station added.

With his wife too afraid to confront him, Mr. Ayinde carried out his evil plan without hindrance even while directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 breakout hit ‘Killing Me Softly, for which he won ‘Best R&B Video' at the 1996 MTV Music Video Awards. The Fugees are also originally from Northern New Jersey.

Mr. Ayinde faces three more trials over the alleged assaults.

Comedian Basketmouth will share short stories about his experience with people while growing in the Nigerian entertainment industry in a series called 'Before I Write a Book.' He plans to write a book eventually so this is a pre-entry to that project, thus, the title. Below is the first story he shares
Back stage at the Rothmans Groove tour which held @ TBS in 1998, there I was seated with the likes of The Plantashun Boiz,Dr. Fresh,Remedies and more...I was just a young boy trying to weigh his options on what direction to go with his career as drumming,rapping,producing and comedy were few of my options.
That night was the 1st time I met Tony Tetuila, one of those humble guys you come by,he was warm and accommodating considering the obvious fact that I was nobody in the industry.
Fast forward a few months later, Comedy had won me over and in the course of my hustle and journey to where I'm yet to get to, I bumped into Tetuila in Festac, just about the time his single 'you don hit my car' came out.

We reconnected while playing catch up. We had common friends so 'bumping' into each other became a tradition. The 1st time he saw me perform @ a concert was at a gig The Plantashun Boiz used to host @ the Den in Ikeja.

I must have impressed him because not long after that night, I got a call from him asking that we meet up. We did and he took me for a meeting in Lagos Island (Shell Office). A director at Shell was retiring and a send-forth party was being held in his honour. My performance fee then was N10,000, Tony pushed it up and convinced the client to pay N30,000 which they paid cash. Prior to this, they had never heard of me and only used me because Tony believed in me and stood up for me, convincing them to buy in.

I was paid in full a week to the show.

After picking up the cash I went straight home. Now here I was, a young comic with his 1st major pay-out of N30,000. Considering the fact that my 1st performance fee was N300 (1%) of what I had in my pocket,I couldn't help but to thank God.

I got home,gave my mum N25,000 and kept N5,000 from which I bought a shirt,pants and shoes from Tejuosho market to wear for the event. Ready for my first big show..

As a father, I've never given out my daughters in marriage before university graduation. It's a personal decision. I had earlier stated my personal choices on the child marriage issue; I have always supported our women and children. For the avoidance of doubt, I do not support any constitutional provision which creates ambiguities about the age of consent for marriage. It's a sad story really. It started last year when Bukola Ajayi who was a business woman until she ventured into movie productions met Oreoluwa Jokotade, an actor who is popularly known as BigVal. They started dating along the line, but they had a big fight not too long. Too late, Bukola was already pregnant.

Hmm, so what is my business? Well, Bukola's friends have been on my neck for the past three days now.
