RaySimran:@RaySimran, I trust that you are doing well. If you may, I would like to oblige your request as follows: To give an answer, we must first ask the question: "Do you believe that all that was/is/will be, was created, and is sustained by a single Supreme Being and Creator?" If your answer is no, then we need to cross this hurdle first. When we cross it, we will establish that that the Supreme Being has all right, and His creatures only have the rights and statuses that He gives them, as they have no intrinsic right or status. He alone determines the tenure, content, and significance of those rights. If your answer is yes, then there is a great principle in the Qur'aan, where it says: "Nay! Man is over himself a clear witness". The moral of that, is that whenever man demands something for himself and denies it for lesser beings, he has by that borne witness that the Supreme being has greater rights to demand more than those things for Himself, and to deny more than man denies, for lesser beings. This is because he is lesser to the Supreme Being , than those lesser creatures are less than him. With that logic, let us ponder the case of a man who bought a car. He demands that he alone shall be the only one to determine if and when the car will be washed and fuelled. He alone must determine when and to where the car is driven, how it is driven, where it is serviced, etc. He denies vehemently that his car has a right to be consulted. It he uses the car (a luxury car) for hurling sheep and tilling his land, if someone were to accuse him of bad judgement, he will ask: "is it your car?". If he takes the car out everyday and someone says to him: "Did you seek the cars permission before taking it out this often?". He will ask the fellow, if he is mentally fit. If he sees someone talking to his shoes, saying: "Dear shoes, I know that its summer and the temperature is 50 degrees Celsius, would you kindly allow me to wear you?" He will say that the one having a conversation with his shoes requires medical intervention. He will ask: "Are you not its Lord, to do with it as you please? Do you not have unlimited rights over it, and it has none?" As it is for a car, so it it for living things that are subject to man. Man never asks an ant for permission to pass through an ant invested patch of road. He just steps on them, and has never suffered remorse. Man demands all these rights, simply because he owns these things by buying them. In fact in the case of the ant, he neither bought or owns them, yet he demands the same right as he has over what he owns. With these, man bears witness that the absolute lord over a thing has all rights, and His creatures, none, except what He grants them, and He alone has a right to moderate, and or withdraw those rights when He wishes. Therefore, He decides to pass information to them when He wills, how He wills, and through whom He wills. If one believes that That the Supreme Being is Perfect, All-Wise, All-Knowing and that He Exerts Jurisdiction over all things, then it will be easy, along with what I previously stated, to believe that, no only does He have the sole right to dictate laws to His creatures, He also has the capacity to promulgate laws at a certain period of time and demand that those laws be followed at all times, into the future. Only One Who has knowledge of all things can do this, and that is why He does it. |
BismiLlaah, AlhamduliLlaah, Wa-s-Salaatu Wa-s-Salaamu 'ala RasuluLlaah, Mixed companies are companies whose core product or service is halaal, but one or more of their processes or dealings are haraam. An example is a textile-making company [halaal product] that borrows or lends interest-bearing loans, and or sells bonds, and or invests in other mixed or haraam companies [e.g beweries, casinos, usury-transacting banks, etc.], and or engages in any other haraam activity. Pure companies offer halaal products and services, and their processes and dealings are all halaal. Haraam companies offer haraam products and services. They are haraam, so, there is no need to inquire about their processes. This leaves Muslims with the opportunity to engage in and invest in only halaal buisnesses, and there are a lot of them. In recent times, some have come up with statements that it is permissible to invest in a mixed company, so long as its interest-bearing loan is not more that 30% [others, 25%, 50%] of its equity, and haraam income is not more than 5%. They permit this on the condition that the investor should periodically research the books of the mixed companies they have invested in, calculate the total haraam due to them, deduct it from the dividend they collect, and give the haraam part out in charity from which they themselves will not benefit. These statements have no foundation in Islaam, and were put together by wrongly reinterpreting shariah texts and rulings, in a manner different from the interpretations of our pious predecessors and current Muslim bodies like the Muslim World League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Drones have come to stay. The race is in building faster, cheaper, harder-to-detect, longer-distance, heavier-load-carrying ones. It's breakneck speed. That said, a new race has begun, with the US admitting that it already has weapons stored in space. That cuts missile travel time by at the very least, half. Space assets of adversaries become easier target, and few can respond. Watch out for announcements from China and Russia, next. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ck790xg41ygro |
