A New York City man who took a taxi from Philadelphia to Uniontown to surprise his fiancée instead found himself booked into the Fayette County jail when he couldn't pay taxi driver.

John S. Williams Jr., 35, is charged by Uniontown police with theft of services in connection with the cross-state ride.

The cab driver, Mohammed Uddin, called police to a Wilson Avenue home to report Williams' refusal to pay the fare, police said.

Burkina Faso soldiers have seized control of a military camp held by Presidential Security Regiment (RSP) officers, who refused to disarm in the wake of a failed coup last month.

The soldiers entered the presidential guard palace barracks with little resistance, an army officer told Reuters.

Troops were carrying out clean-up operations at the camp, searching for General Gilbert Diendere, who led the short-lived coup. However, he appeared not to be at the camp.

A 15-year-old girl has been jailed for stabbing her own mother to death! According to source, the blonde Danish teenager, Lisa Borch, and her 29-year-old boyfriend, Bakhtiar Mohammed Abdulla took a long-bladed kitchen knife and stabbed her mother Tina Römer Holtegaard at least 20 times at the home they shared in rural Kvissel and she died!

Her mother's husband was away on a business trip at the time, and when police arrived they found Tina Römer Holtegaard covered in blood.
