I know some newly admitted medical students(through jamb) have already started reading some anatomy and physiology textbooks..For what na? They jux become too carried away dat they think entering medical school already means they're doctors...Medicine is one of those courses that u're not supposed to be faster than ur shadow...U haven't yet written post jamb but yet u had already bought lab coats and medical textbooks..It maybe an action of faith or determination sha, but dat is really uncalled for..There are two pieces of advice I can give u now:
U can decide to drop the biochem and write jamb again Or u can take the biochem and write jamb again and also go for change of course to medicine...
NOTE: THE FORMER IS FOR PATIENT PEOPLE..I WROTE JAMB LAST YEAR AND I WAS NOT GIVEN MEDICINE...A LOT OF PEOPLE TOLD ME TO GO FOR D COURSE I WAS GIVEN BUT I DECIDED TO STAY AND WRITE JAMB AGAIN...NOW I'VE BEEN ADMITTED TO STUDY MEDICINE..I CONCENTRATED FULLY because I DIDN'T HAVE ANY DISTRACTED ATTENTION...MEANWHILE THE LATER IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT PATIENT...FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, MANY OF THOSE WHO CHOOSE D SECOND METHOD DON'T GET TO STUDY MEDICINE AND THEY END UP BEING FRUSTRATED...
Also, u may decide to finish ur biochem and transfer to med through DE...If u're patient also....
AS SOME DOCTORS WILL SAY, MEDICINE IS ONE OF THOSE COURSES THAT IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO START STUDYING

Medicine my passion!..i luv dis course nt becos of its lucrativity or shud i say d percentage lucrativity carries in my lyknes doesnt reach 50...though its obviously one of d reason...buh main reasons ar cos of its challenges it entails(i personaly luv to face challenges),d medical skul!..chai i luv bein in medical skul,its so peaceful,enjoyable,gud learnin environment nd so many oda advantageous tins...av went to uch twice nw,stayed in their hostel 4 days,nd i tel u..t was a gr8 experience...ooh also u'v got no choice dan bein religious..even if u were nt b4..buh sme stil ar nt(dnt knw y).....all dis said...my hopes nd chances of studyin medicine ar nw shattered if i wud say..av only tried once (4 medicine)(dis yr) nd i trailed d cutof mark or was short of d cutof mark wit 7 marks..so painful..nw my parent cnt aford to waste money anymore or shud i say tins ar jes 2 hard...as i av alredy bin admitted into unilorin 4 b.sc chem..goin to 2 200l wit low gp cos i dint perform wel tinkin i wud b admitted into ui 4 medicine(a huge regret)....i realy nid sme advice on wot i cn do to study medicine...tnks in anticipatn!

mayojaspa: I applied once at unilorin, had 2:1, I finished from unilorin, I had 64% in their postutme but not offered admission, I was later told chemistry is no longer among the course they consider for medicine. that statement was from the current DVC academics of unilorin.( prof. Olatunji of chemistry department ), so i decided to go through jamb here in ui and now nothing. I also applied through de but pharmacy instead, just hope sth positive will come out of it.

admission is strictly based on ur p.jamb score man....no calculatn involved!...ma prayer sha b say make d cutof mark no exceed 70 or dat i am d only one wit 70+ in my state as marc9 stated earlier!

Marc9: I was looking for a subtle way to laff, it took quite awhile to realise ther was no need to. U dey ask if H2S is among constituents of Air pollutant? Hmm. Well, the most dangerous(tautology.....lethal) of all air pollutants(waste gases) is H2S, cos it's so lethal dat if u inhale it, u'l surely die! But we do inhale CO(those dat stay in houses where there are many 'I pass my neighbour gen') and we don't drop dead!
