Jobs/Vacancies / Re: N-Power Lagos Thread by techiegr8: 9:22am On Aug 07, 2017
*Why some N-power Volunteers were not paid for December, January, February*

Are you an existing member of N-power Nigeria? Are you still hoping to be paid stipends for some past months including December, January, February etc? Are you affected by not being paid while other intakes of your time were all through collecting their monthly stipends? The post below is right for you.

N-power has been paying volunteers taken in, for the 2016 round. Yet some are still yet to collect stipends for some months. The months mostly affected are December, January and February. If you are one of the affected members, here is why.

Even though N-power started the deployment of intakes and verification starting from December, yet not all states were covered at once. If you belong to a state where deployment and verification was done late, you wouldn’t be paid for the months before deployment and verification.

A frustrated Lagos N-power member asked N-power support team this question and the answer was obvious

Education / Gain Admission Into These 40 Universities Without Connection by techiegr8: 1:22pm On Aug 06, 2017
It’s like the norm of the day is getting connected before being given chance to study in a typical Nigerian institution. Even though this may be the truth to some people (I have seen this too) yet, I believe meritocracy is still working in our country.

This anomaly has led to many fraudsters taking advantage of unsuspecting admission seekers and their parents.

As a matter of fact, you need to be aware that schools in Nigeria are still offering admission based on some factors and these are the national yardsticks for selecting admission seekers year in, year out.

Education / Schools To Consider For Change Of Institutions by techiegr8: 5:49pm On Aug 05, 2017
It’s a challenge for parents and students every year while trying to change institutions and courses during JAMB change of institutions/courses exercise.

It gets more frustrated when you don’t know the cut off mark your proposed school will use in the current admission year. This issue of cut-off mark is a general concern as JAMB refuses to announce cut-of mark until late time.

JAMB has the custom of not announcing the national cut-off mark before or during the change of institutions. They do this to prevent students from choosing a school in thousands over others.

Because as soon as the national cut-off mark is announced, no school will be left behind in starting their admission screening/Post UTME activities.

Hence, what majority of schools are waiting for before selling their admission screening forms is JAMB’s announcement of national cut-off mark.

Here is the issue with change of institutions/courses.

Students want to know the cut-off mark that schools will require for UTME in the current admission year before deciding whether to change to them or from them.

However, no students can. This is because such schools will not announce cut-off mark so far JAMB has not announced national cutoff mark.

So, how do students go around this dilemma?

Jobs/Vacancies / Submitting N-power Print-out To Local Government Of Origin by techiegr8: 1:02pm On Aug 03, 2017
During the application for N-power, candidates were advised to print out their reference number page or keep the number for further purpose.

Meanwhile, politicians are demanding for this print-out or number, promising to help the applicants for selection and short-listing. There are local governments reported to have asked all applicants in the area to submit their print-out or reference number for processing.

One confused N-power applicant asked,
Is there a need to submit the unique number printout to the Local government for the recruitment

NYSC / Selecting NYSC Corps Members For N-power by techiegr8: 10:41am On Aug 02, 2017
Many Corpers have been seriously disturbed about this. They want to know if they apply for N-power, will they be considered?

The reasons for this dilemma are:

1. Corp members are already engaged by the same Federal government under NYSC as a scheme
2. Corpers are serving and they can be regarded as volunteers as well. Will they be able to serve two schemes simultaneously?
3. N-power is designed for the unemployed graduates, not for those already engaged in private and public sector
4. Won’t it be double payment if N-power and NYSC pays the same person every month?

However, some corps members applied for the N-power scheme hoping that they may still be lucky to earn double.

I have good news for these confident Corpers

Education / Where To Collect WAEC GCE Results, Closest WAEC Office Or … by techiegr8: 9:31am On Aug 01, 2017
Did you write WAEC GCE and you must collect the results or certificate for admission or job? Do you think you must go back to your exams centre to collect your WAEC GCE certificate?

Candidates are thrown into confusion sometimes, when situations like this arise. Candidates want to know if it is a must you go to WAEC Office to get that certificate collected and if yes, must you go back to WAEC office at the state of the exams or any WAEC office closer or around you.

The answer to this was released by WAEC when an applicant asked,

Education / Filling And Uploading Of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB Awaiting Results To JAMB Portal by techiegr8: 6:11pm On Jul 31, 2017
During JAMB UTME registration, some candidates obtained the form on “awaiting results” basis. In other words, students who wrote WAEC, NECO, NABTEB for the admission year still obtained JAMB but without filling their O’level grades because such results are  to be written later or results not yet released awaiting. Hence, when WAEC and NECO results are finally released, such applicants can then use them for admission purpose.

Are you one of such students who used awaiting results for this year UTME registration? Is your WAEC, NECO, NABTEB result out and all needed grades achieved? Are you finding means to now upload your results to JAMB portal so that it can be considered for the admission purpose?

I get you explanation.

Education / UTME 2013 Result And Score Upgrading Dilemma by techiegr8: 7:25am On May 03, 2013
The last call we received yesterday was a lady asking if it’s real that some people are upgrading UTME result for UTME candidates?

It’s a lie, no more no less!

The bitter truth in Nigeria is that most people are opportunists. They exploit situations and that works fine in a typical capitalist setting.

But you need to be wise however. Somebody promising you of upgrading your scores in UTME is an attempt to collect your hard-earned money. You should understand, you will be asked to pay and they’ll dupe you. Period!

Run for your life, run for money.

Why are we concerned at UTME Alerts?

People depend on us for first-class information about education in Nigeria. And that’s why the caller thought of calling us when she in dilemma. You can equally call if you’re confused about anything.

But we have a better way.
Education / UTME Result Should Be Out This Week by techiegr8: 3:15pm On May 01, 2013
Million of rumors out there! You must have come across it,
1.7million registered for UTME 2013.
That’s is correct,
UTME CBT will hold May 18 to June 1 or 2.
That’s correct either.
Only 500,000 will gain admission this year
That’s correct too.

But, JAMB result is out.
That’s not correct, as at the time of this report.
The promise according to JAMB is “within one week” So expect the result from now till maybe Saturday.

Heard this too?
Only 45% passed the UTME.
As at now, JAMB has not said anything about
number of people who passed the exams

But, Our unofficial source agreed with this statistics.
NOW, how can we help you at UTME ALERTS?
