Jobs/Vacancies / What's 1 Thing You're Really Proud Of? by techietude: 9:52am On Sep 21, 2021
people LOVE bragging about themselves, but it's not socially acceptable and a lot of people tend to downplay it.

If you have a skill you're super proud of, but you don't get paid for it or you are not being paid enough for it, consider offering it to an international audience.

How?

By showing up on their timeline.

The only thing you need to do is to get comfortable bragging about it.

PS: Those with TECH skills & communication skills are in high demand in the US. So learn to either offer your skills to an international audience or learn how you can help SASS companies communicate their solutions to users.

Either way, the only way to be financially rewarded for the skills you've got is to show up for the right audience.

Try not to overthink this. It's as easy as you're reading it.

Career / Unpopular Tech Roles That Pay 2x More Than Popular Roles by techietude: 4:35pm On Jul 22, 2021
This is for those who would like to start a career in tech with or without a tech-related educational background.

if you are already in tech and feeling frustrated, then this applies to you as well.

The secret to earning more money in tech is to specialize and work remotely.

For example, if you have no tech background, you can become a UX writer. UX writer is fairly new and the demand is quite high, hence the pay is higher than some of the popular roles you know.

Another example, if you are already in tech and looking to switch careers, let's say you are an IT auditor. You can easily switch to Asset Management(Software or Hardware). The pay is HUGE! Check the screenshot below!

In the 2 examples above, you can work for more than one company as long as you got the capacity to manage it smoothly.

There are lots of options in tech. With the right information and someone to coach/mentor you, you can break into tech and truly succeed.

Why should you listen to me? I've got a degree in computer science and mathematics but I don't code. I am knowledgeable in several technologies that most companies use so basically I don't look for jobs. I currently work with an international company remotely as a UX writer(this is different from your regular content writer) and also a local company as both an IT & cybersecurity consultant.

You can follow me on twitter @cybersecurequin to get to know me

I currently run a club room in clubhouse app where I talk about "Easy Careers in Tech" every other month end. I am also currently mentoring a group of people. Recently opened a channel on telegram where I will start to post unpopular tech roles and how you can get in and succeed.
