Why Do iPhones Get Stuck In Recovery Mode? There are two possible answers to this question: Software corruption or a hardware problem. If you dropped your phone in the toilet (or it got wet some other way), it’s probably a hardware problem. Most of the time, a serious software problem causes iPhones to get stuck in Recovery Mode. Here’s how to put an iPhone into recovery mode and get it out of recovery mode. 1. First, make sure iTunes is up to date on your laptop, PC or Mac. Then, connect a USB cable to your computer, but don’t plug it into your iPad or iPhone just yet. 2. Turn off your iPhone or iPad by holding the sleep/wake button until the red bar appears: swipe to the right to shut down your device. 3. Connect the USB cable and continue to hold the home button. 4. You will see the Apple logo appear, and this will change to the recovery graphic 5. You can now release the home button. Your iPhone or iPad is now in recovery mode, and iTunes should be displaying a message to say as much. You can now use iTunes to restore a previously saved backup to your device. How to get out of Recovery Mode in iOS 8 To get out of recovery mode, make sure your USB cable is connected to both the laptop running iTunes and your device. You may need to hold the home button while connecting your USB cable as above. Now hold the home and sleep/wake buttons together until you see the Apple logo appear. Don’t let go until then – it can take several seconds: the recovery graphic will disappear and a black screen might be shown for a while, but keep holding the buttons down until the white Apple appears. Leave the USB cable connected until your device boots up and shows the lock screen. It’s now out of recovery mode. If this doesn't work - it may or may not depending on your iPad or iPhone's problem, there are other utilities such as TinyUmbrella which claim to be able to exit recovery mode without losing all the data on your iDevice. Sanitizing Your iPhone Whether it's your ex girlfriend/boyfriend, your constantly calling network providers, that person you're owing money, "pests", frenemy, a salesperson or someone you just need a digital break from for a bit, Apple lets you limit the communication received from the outside world. If you have people or unknown, annoying numbers that you'd prefer not to see messages or receive phone and Facetime calls from, follow the instructions below. Phone If you're in the Phone app under Recents, tap info next to the phone number or contact that you want to block. Scroll to the bottom of your screen, then tap Block this Caller. FaceTime If you're in the FaceTime, tap info next to the phone number or contact that you want to block. Scroll to the bottom of your screen, then tap Block this Caller. Messages If you're in Messages, open the conversation, tap info, then tap the name or phone number. Scroll to the bottom of the Info screen, then tap Block this Caller. "Will The Contact Know They're Blocked?" Short answer is "No". But a perceptive friend might notice that they can never get a hold of you. When someone in your blocked list calls, they will be immediately sent to voicemail. Any message left in voicemail will be put in a separate folder called "Blocked Messages," to which you can listen. If the contact tries to send you a text or iMessage, from their end, it will look like the message was sent, though you — thanks to your craftiness — will not actually have to see the message. ![]()

I get your angle yea, but i do feel Apple is doing some good stuffs with the iPhone these days though. One can say they are trying to keep their "Premium" status going strong with their lack of flexibility. Notice how the newer phones from other brands are packing irremovable batteries? Laid hands on any of the more recent iPhones? The 5s upwards, you just might be impressed o. ![]() fistonati: |
People still basing judgement on specification though. Looking at it too sha, its safe to say Google came strong with the Pixels. On paper, they are matching and almost outdoing the iPhone 7 and 7plus, with the Pixel and Pixel XL. We will just chill for release and see whats up for real ![]() nestaAK: |

It is actually possible. But why go through all that hassle when you've got a pretty good thing going already with your iOS 9 Bossmd: |

Sure by now, we all are aware of the latest innovation from Apple; The AirPods. Not the best welcome for such a bold step, technology-wise. They have been dubbed weird-looking Q-tips sticking out of your ears, the audio quality has been likened to the regular apple earbuds and at that price tag of $159 (at least 65 large ones with the continuously increasing exchange rate in our beloved Nigeria). 65,000 Naira for headphones that wont give something exactly special for music playback?! The problems with Apple's new AirPods headphones have actually been clear from first glance: without a wire to keep them together, they're probably going to fly out and get lost. But no one's made the point quite as colorfully as Conan O'Brien did, when he took some inspiration from Apple's classic iPod ads and mixed in a little bit of reality, with a pinch of humor. Apple iOS 10 has landed and it represents one of the biggest upgrades to iOS in recent years; although it has killed off support for a number of older iPhones, iPads and iPod touch. The Apple iOS 10 is designed for the iPhone 5 or later, iPad 4th gen or later, iPad mini 2 or later, iPad Pro range and the 6th generation iPod touch or later. Users are automatically prompted to upgrade, but if you don’t yet have a notification you can manually trigger it by going to Settings > General > Software Update As always, the size of iOS updates differs significantly depending on your device. In the case of iOS 10 it is a major release and typically weighs in between 600MB and 1.2GB. The iOS 10 as expected, comes with some major new features. Check on a few of them below: New Notifications: iOS 10 goes a long way towards catching up with Android’s strongest feature with ‘Rich Notifications’. These allow direct interaction with notifications from the lockscreen (reply, view videos, etc) and there’s additional notification functionality for 3D Touch compatible devices (iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 series) iMessage Overhaul: One of the most hotly anticipated upgrades is the radical reinvention of iMessage. Endless new ways to interact have been added, from ‘invisible ink’ (expiring messages), gifs and custom animations, to handwritten notes and a mass of new emoji. Smarter Siri: In iOS 10 Siri has finally been opened up to third party app developers. For example, this allows voice controls to create and send WhatsApp messages, initiate Skype calls, request an Uber taxi, etc. The sky’s the limit, though it is another Android catch-up feature. Apple Music Optimized Storage: Apple Music settings now allow you to automatically free up space by removing downloaded tracks you haven’t listened to after a predefined period. Go to: Settings > Music > Downloads. They can always be re-downloaded later. Don’t Stop The Music(Camera): Apple has stopped the camera mode automatically killing any music recording from the device the moment it is opened. Great if your phone is also the source of music for a party. Music still stops if you want to record a video or Live Photo. Restore Touch to Unlock: iOS 10 requires users to physically press the home button to unlock their devices, rather than just make contact for the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. If you don’t like this go to: Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button and enable: ‘Rest Finger to Open’ to get the old method back. iPad Specific Upgrades: Safari gets Split View support allowing two tabs to be shown side-by-side. A real productivity booster Location Suggestions: In iOS 10 when you enter a Calendar event you will find locations are suggested automatically using Apple Maps. This is a catch up to Google Calendar in Android which taps into Google Maps for the same functionality. Find My Car(Apple Maps): Siri automatically detects when you’re driving and drops a pin at the location you stop, so you can easily find it later. Another notable mention is the new feel to the emoticons. Polished Apple Music: iOS 10 brings a new UI, Search table and lyrics support Another notable mention is the new feel to the emoticons. Sure the greater percentage of us have at some point tried to re-enact or have wished we were Batman (minus the murdered parents part of course -_-). Well, this guy is now the closest to achieving that dream. Julian Checkley is a costume designer from Ireland. He created a Batman suit so complex, it earned him a World Record in Guinness World Records 2017: Gamer’s Edition. His very realistic Bat Suit ensemble has 23 different gadgets, earning it the title of “most functional gadgets on a cos-play suit". They include: a video screen in the right gauntlet, grapnel gun, gas dispenser, Bat tracking device with a Bluetooth tracker, a fireball shooter, ultra sonic sound emitter; among many others. Check on the video below to see how he showcased and affirmed that the gadgets really worked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCDg8kmVs4

I know we can all attest to the fact that technology is seeing advancements at a rapid pace. I mean; it's gone from SmartPhones to SmartWatches, with developers always finding new and innovative ways to bring technology to consumers. Arrow, one of the world's leading clothing brands, has launched the world's first SmartShirt. The Smart Shirt from Arrow is a shirt that connects to your SmartPhone. The Smart Shirt allows users to access various features on their smartphones by tapping their sleeves. To connect the Shirt to the SmartPhone, users will have to download the Arrow mobile app. The app communicates with the shirt via an NFC chip present on the cuff of the shirt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpAYeX5QbM0 Wonder who would be first to bring this into our Naija zone

When it comes to technology, Ford; yes the same car giants, has been able to continuously set itself as a technology company rather than simply a car maker Ford has said it will mass-produce a fully autonomous self-driving car without a steering wheel by 2021. That is a mere five years away; we are sure hoping Ford will come through The bold ambition was outlined by the company’s president, Mark Fields, at an event in Palo Alto, California. Ford said it would double its investment in its research centre in the city, as well as making sizable investments in technology companies in the autonomy industry. The firm said the car would be in use by customers by 2021. Culled from BBC: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-37103159

As we gear towards the release of the “already potentially awesome and powerful” Galaxy Note 7; from Samsung, more pictures and information arise. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will feature what is said to be the most powerful and precise S Pen yet. It also promises water resistance, fast auto-focus and low-light capabilities. A dual-edge Super Amoled Display and 64GB of built-in storage that’s expandable with microSD card (up to 256GB) are also part of the many potential features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 . Awesome, ain’t it It is however not to be mistaken for Note 6; The company is skipping a numeral this year and calling the phablet the Galaxy Note 7, instead of the Galaxy Note 6. The company has announced that it has taken this step to avoid confusion among its customers, and unify its product portfolio. Samsung released the S7 and S7 Edge this year in its flagship Galaxy ‘S’ series, and bringing its Note series to the same numeral made sense to it. Samsung is looking to make the Galaxy Note7 available to buy, before the Rio Summer Olympics kick off on August 5; where it is the official wireless partner. I guess the gist that BlackBerry is looking to embrace the Android Operating System is not exactly new. We’ve seen the release of their first android powered phone in the keyboard-available Priv. BlackBerry is looking to launch three phones over the next year; Argon, Mercury and DTEK50 (previously known as Hamburg, or Neon), with DTEK50 set to be the first of the releases. The DTEK50 will be BlackBerry’s first entirely touchscreen-based android phone and it has already been dubbed to be the most secured android phone. With specifications like its 13 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixels front camera, intelligent keyboard in this 5.2 inches display phone, we sure are anticipating. ![]() At first glance, one will call it an Alcatel Idol 4 with extra makeup, but in their defense, they are currently working with TLC Communications; the makers of all the available Alcatel-branded phones Read on: https://wifix.ng/blog/index.php/2016/07/27/blackberry-android-wiblog-wifix/
