(make sure the seal on the box is intact at the time of purchase to avoid buying a fake phone), Inside the box includes the M6 accessories all neatly wrapped and packaged: a 2020 mAh battery , a flip cover pouch, a manual, a warranty card, a travel charger and earphones. Screen Dimension and Type The Tecno M6 has a 5.0 inch IPS touchscreen with 16 million colours and a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and 196 pixels per inch (PPI). 20151024_185459 20151024_185308 The IPS display looks sharp and colorful with lots of bright colored wallpaper. We had a good experience with viewing images and video even with the supposedly low resolution. Design The Tecno M6 like many Tecno phones has a beautiful design. From the rectangular form factor with soft curves, the slightly protruding camera, to having the perfect size that fits in your hand, the H6 nails design. The charging port has been taken to the bottom and the earphone jack left on the top. The power button as always has been kept on the right with the volume keys to the left. 20151024_18534020151024_185417 Camera Tecno M6 has a 8.0 mega pixel rear camera which is located at the top-right corner of the phone and the LED flash light located just beside the camera. And the front side of the smartphone has a 2.0 mega pixel camera attached to it for all your selfies and video calls. The 8.0 back camera is good enough for taking pictures during the day and night time with the help of the flashlight. It can also record videos, do geo-tagging, face detection and the you can also adjust the image size before taking pictures. 20151024_185227 The M6 also has customizable keys that allow you to choose which key/button to act as the shutter key – This solves the lack of the a dedicated camera button. For Instance we were able to program the volume down key to trigger the shutter. The M6 camera also allows you to adapt settings like Exposure, Color, White balance and ISO. You can also set the camera to detect faces, touch, wave or speak to capture. Add time watermarks to your photos so you know what time you took them. For selfie lovers, you can use the self timer to take photos without pressing any button to trigger the shutter. Let’s look at the improvements made. Faster Shutter Speed: This basically helps you capture photos faster reducing the possibility of blurry photos. Together with faster auto focus, the faster shutter speeds allow you to capture crisp and sharp images. Unfortunately even the faster shutter speeds cannot replace the need for Image stabilization. Better Low Light photography: We weren’t able to establish the aperture of the M6 but we definitely saw an improvement in low light photography Better Video: The M6 can shoot lovely full HD videos with good sound too. Even at night, we were able to shoot quality videos with the help of the flash. Battery The Tecno M6 comes with a 2020mAh non removable battery which should last a day of basic use for a period of time. The M6 battery charges very fast, In about an hour or less, the Tecno H6 battery fills up. Unfortunately, It equally drains fast especially with heavy usage. Since the M6 doesn’t come with a battery bank, you probably want to invest in one. 20151024_190126 The M6 battery could last a day if you didn’t turn 3G often and received a couple of calls here and there. With 3G and constant use in a mix of calls, music, chatting, watching Video and checking email, the battery could only go for between 5-8 hours The battery saving modes come in handy but since all they do is disable the extra functionality that you so often need especially internet, one might find them not so useful. Network and SIM card Tecno M6 is a dual SIM/standby smartphone which means that two SIM cards can be used on the device and both SIM card will be active simultaneously. Furthermore it supports 3.75G,3G and 2G networks. No support for 4G usual. 20151024_190056 Operating System The Tecno M6 comes with Android KitKat 4.4.2 and clean user interface. Processor and Memory The Tecno M6 spots a quad core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz which is at least enough to keep the device running without issues. Also, it has a RAM of 1GB. This may be a disappointment to some but this is according to Tecno a medium end smartphone. Internal Memory and Memory Card The device comes with 8GB internal memory and SD card slot that supports up to 32GB memory card. Hence, if you ever feel like the 8GB memory isn’t enough, you can always bump up the memory by installing a memory card. Hot Knot This is the new Tecno NFC (Near Field Communication) of sorts. It’s a file/data exchange function that allows you to share data by tapping the screens of two Hot Knot enabled Tecno devices together. However, when it comes to connectivity set, a new addition has been added to the mix. This new addition is called the HotKnot. The HotKnot feature allows you to share files very quickly without the need to pair devices as required by Bluetooth. In fact, the HotKnot is a smaller version of the NFC. With the HotKnot feature, all you have to do is select the item you want to share and tap the other HotKnot enabled device with your device and immediately you will see the shared item on the recipient device. No pairing of any sort required. If you are looking for wireless charging which is fast becoming the norm these days; am sorry to burst your bubble. You only get the WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, 3.5mm earphone port and the new HotKnot feauture. It also has support for USB OTG, GPS and AGPS. Pre installed Apps As always, Tecno packs their phones with lots of apps they believe you might need. Thankfully they give you the option to uninstall them if you so wish. Screenshot_2015-10-24-18-56-47 Screenshot_2015-10-24-18-57-12 They also give you a couple of app APKs (Android Application Package) that you can install offline should you need them. In the Tecno M6 we notice a few important apps that are worth mentioning gmail app, calendar, Whatsapp, Opera and some other slew of apps including Facebook and the likes. It also has a FM radio transmitter for those that like listening to radios, flashlight and palmchat app Lets take a look at the unboxing pictures of the Tecno M6 gallery below: SOURCE: http://phonesnigeria.com/tecno-m6-review-and-unboxing/ |

The mtn true talk tariff is way high, the 11k/s sometimes doesnt apply when making calls otokx: |
yea, its very sad. OVI75: |
Mtn recently reviewed the true talk plus tariff plan, I got a text message from mtn last week stating the recent increase of the true talk plus plan from the 11k/s to 20k/s due to the regulatory requirement by the Ncc. Below is the text message i got from mtn: 20151012_145729 20151012_145734 The new update on the Mtn true talk plus has a little benefit, you get 100% bonus on recharge using the *885*PIN# With the new update on the true talk plus and additional 100% bonus on recharge still got me disappointed. Most mtn subscribers dont have an idea on the recent change in the true talk plus tariff plan. I hope with this article most mtn true talk plus tariff users would have the choice to either keep using the true talk plus or migrate to other affordable mtn tariff plan. Below are the mtn tariff plans i strongly recommend: Mtn Zone: The update on the Mtn zone tariff plan which has 12k/s as the lowest zone tariff, do not pay attention to mtn cell broadcast displaying zone call rates as 8k/s, its all lies. The lowest zone call rate is 12k/s and highest is 20 – 24k/s. See below is a snapshot of the mtn zone rate of 8k/s 20151012_144455 Mtn ipluse: The Mtn ipluse has a 15k/s call rate to all network. Mtn Smooth Talk Plus: It has call rate of 15 kobo per second for calls ACROSS ALL local Networks after the first minute of the day at 40 kobo per second. while actually now only making calls from other networks which all have 11k/sec. Make the wise choice and choose between the best mtn tariff plans that suits you. I opted back to the mtn zone tariff plan which i call at 12k/s. Hopefully mtn would launch a new affordable tariff plan for the average Nigerian. SOURCE: http://lowkeytech.com/update-on-mtn-true-talk-plus-tariff-plan-now-20ks/ |
