As the subject right;y suggests, I need all the help i can get with developing interactive CDs with flash. It baffles that i don't know aw to since i am an average flash user. I think i'm missing out on the principle as i've seen a number of them n observed that it's a combination of different SWF files. I need detailed help on this subject even if it means getting a book. I'm amazed at how well pictures are pimped to the point that Obasanjo can be made to look like Denzel Washington (no pimples). I really do want to learn how to. Besides, i'm a web developer and pimping photos could help me in maintaining a form of originality without compromising beauty if i have to use my client's pics. Pls help peops. Please, how do i jar a java file in jdk 1.6. Specifically, i've often had problems accessing a database program i wrote after jarring the application. Maybe, that's where the problem lies. hola folks

Please, I'd like help on how to develop highly interactive applications. I've seen it done with Flash but i'm yet to explore Flash beyond its basics and thus, i'm at a loss as to how it'll translate to interactive applications. I'd like your assistance on the best of applicable materials to get me through. Trust my fellow nairalanders.

My present laptop's (Dell inspiron E1505) been showing signs of failure lately n i have an external hard drive of 160gb. I'd like to know if it's possible for me to instal an O.S. (Vista) on the external harddrive then boot from it.

My Dell inspiron E1505 keeps giving me dis message wenever i power it on
" No bootable device--striike f1 to retry reboot, f2 for setup utility, press f5 to run onboard dignostics"
I've since tried all the options stipulated to no avail and had to resolve to powering it off and on before it finally comes on.
I'm sure it's to do with my harddisk yet, it's persisted for the 2 years i've had the laptop.
My fear's in taking it for repairs boils down to the fear of complicating matters.

I spent years nurturing a dream to work in an established IT firm with fellow developers, churning out codes upon codes, But the reality on ground in our country meant i could either spend the better parts of my young life searching for the ideal IT job or CREATE THE ENVIRONMENT for myself. I gave it a good thought and chose the latter option. Teamed up with a fellow developer and together, we're making the most of our skills as technopreneurs today. Has been very challenging but it's been fulfilling cos i'm doing wat i love 2 do and not what desperation thrusts upon me. Been stuck wit d problem of trying 2 get images into sqlserver2005.
Specifically, my dilema goes thus:
* i'm presently working on a dbase related application using jdbc but i can't seem 2 find a way of inserting images in my table n retrieving it using jdbc.
I've tried using BLOBS 2 insert into d table which worked perfectly but retrieving its content 4 view using a JLabel has proved a mystery.

I use a DEll Inspiron E1505 n i've had it 4 ova a year now. Problem is i keep getting a prompt message saying ", can't find bootable device n asking me to press F5 to try reboot, "weneva i put it on.
It persisted 4 some time, stoped only to resume again. I've made d following observations though:
*the hardrive seems to be detachable as there's no screw attached to it thus can be removed n fixed again;
*the prompt message mainly comes on after i've moved my system from one place to another n the hard drive's position appears to have been altered;
*the prompt message stops once i readjust d harddrive and then turn on d system again.
I don't know if anyone's had d problem before and i'd like an intervention before a crash of some sort occurs.

While i'm not new to the world of programming given my sound knowledge of Vb6 and .Net 2005, i'm a complete novice to Java. I'll be commencing its classes soon but i'm having problems getting acquainted to how it works as i intend to work with what i already have. Presently, i've got a couple of e-books plus a s/ware called netBeans and the Java compiler .
My major dilema is knowing how codes are written and interpreted/compiled in Java even though programming languages bear some similarities with respect to the use of Variables, Loops n so on. I'd like answers to the following:
1. What's the main GUI used for writing d source codes in Java?
2. Are there menu like options for controls and oblects as alternatives to the codes as obtains in Visual studio?
3. Besides, is NetBeans the main s/ware to use or just an arm of Java itself?
4. What are the requirements proper in terms of s/wares?

Been working with vb.net((visual basic language) for about a year now since migrating from vb6. I'd like to test my skills by taking up a # of projects to further gain exposure n move up d ladder. I'd appreciate any help with gaining more skills even if via a network. I currently reside in d FCT so physical network's aiite. Been working with vb.net(visual basic language) on my own 4 'bout a year now since migrating from vb6. Specialty's visual basic though still learning via self-development studies.
Decided to take my programming dreams a step further by registering for JAVA classes in NIIT with a view to following a structured curriculum leading up to my certifications.
D passion's there so d bulk of it all lies on me. Open to suggestions though on the prospects of JAVA plus aw best to buid on d average i know in Vb.net(visual basic language).
I'd appreciate forming a network of like minds with peops in Abuja where i'm based. Or any site i cld lay my hands on for vb pjs to up my skills n xposure.
